Greetings, GMs! I'll start from the beginning I wish to make some money. Accept this contract "Sealed RADAR Backup Cluster" (Data issued 2015.07.04 13:22) author by "Trinar Getrin" and in short time i wish to sale goods from immediate in market from buyer's list. From my attemping to sale the goods i have a message "Broker found no match for your order. Others might have been before you, or your quotes might be outdated." Buyer's order is disappear, but after near 30 minutes he was back in the list of buyers, and again the same error in my attempts in selling a "Sealed RADAR Backup Cluster".
I think that the author "Trinar Getrin" deliberately created such a contract and use a bug in market and was cheating by using a market bug or using a bot. The probability of this coincidence of exclusive goods ("Sealed RADAR Backup Cluster") from other players is very small (only two available in the Jita system), the appearance in the list of buyers in 30 minutes, I am sure that this is cheating. Screenshots in my attempt to sell me there. If you find the reason that the seller cheated in the contract, please invalidate the contract and return the money to me. thanks

GM AISLING Yesterday 19:42 Hi, GM Aisling here,
Thank you for contacting us!
Unfortunately, I don't have a good news. Let me explain what has happened here.
What you experienced is a player using the Margin Trading skill for nefarious purposes. The Margin Trading skill allows the player not to have all of the market escrow up front to make a buy order, but rather only need to provide a fraction of it. At level 5 the player only need 24% of the escrow to place the order. When the broker matches the buy order up with a sell order, it checks if the character that has the order up has enough ISK in his wallet to be able to fulfill the order and pay the full buying price posted. If not enough ISK is in the wallet of the buyer, the order is cancelled and the items will be put up in a sell order if you used the advanced sale option.
You may see where this is going. What these players (with a Margin Trading skill trained) sometimes do: they place the buy order with enough ISK for it in their wallets, but when the order is up, they transfer the ISK away from the wallet. They place a sell order or a contract of the same item for which they have an outstanding buy order, for a lot less.
This way they may and most likely will trick players, hoping to make quick ISK into buying overpriced items, because there is a juicy buy order waiting. But as is with almost all things in EVE Online, things that look too good to be true usually aren't true, and even if the margin trading buyer did not set up any sell order or contract to trick you into buying them, players should not ever rely on buy orders still being active when they get around to try and fill them. Buying/collecting an item just to fill a specific buy order is always pure speculation on the buy order still being there and the buyer being able to pay for it fully. After all, the buy order could have been legit and that the buyer just did not have enough money at the time you arrived for unforeseen circumstances.
Unfortunately, this specific use of Margin Trading is part of a game, and is not considered an exploit. I apologize for the inconvenience this loss has caused you, and I am very sorry that you have experienced that. Sadly, not all players have good intentions.
Please, contact us in case you have further questions.

Kumako Akito Yesterday 20:22 I see, but making like this contracts and dubious buy order intentional fraudulent action is not a violation of the rules of the game? is not it? If he (rogue) acted according to the rules of the game (and you know it) it is possible to adjust the rules of the market, and so on? The result is nobody's fault... |

GM AISLING Yesterday 21:00 Hey there,
You are right, it is not considered as a violation of the game, that's just how the market works. Unfortunately, some players are using it in their own advantages. And again, we are very sorry for this loss and for this experience that you had.
Please, check this link:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=270
It is the forum link for Features and ideas. You might want to consider to either give it a quick look for the similar issues or maybe even share your own experience in order to help other players to avoid that in the future.

Kumako Akito Yesterday 21:16 Everything is clear, but you still did not do against players who deliberately and systematically use these vulnerabilities in the market. Logically, if there is an order to buy, why do I have to know what skills are learned or not? I sold the goods at the buyer's cost, and everyone is happy with the deal. Why should I lose 1kkk isk's to the problems that you know and do not decide? Perhaps it makes sense to write this petition to your main master of the game, which can affect this as an injustice to me and to other players.

I fell for it once too, many years ago. It's part of the game. An obnoxious part of the game, but still working as intended.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So, why do I post here?

look scamming fun and all but i have never liked this particular one since its the only one where the UI is actively lying to you...
I mean recruitment scams are part for the course, never open a contract posted in local, the guiding hand EARNED that monkey they stole... But all of those are scams where its the players dumb fault and not one where the UI is "complicit" as it were... (i know that atleast part of the dev team agrees with me here)

I always thought that EVE scamming in general is fine, but I'm not sure what to think on this one. One of those you have to specifically know in order to avoid, courtesy of game mechanic that most wouldn't know if not for the existence of this sort of scamming. |

Except for all people trading. And no, trading would be way more of a pain without that skill, because expanding your potential invested capital would take really longer... Not supporting a potential removal.

this is not quite true. Its your fault paying ISK for a worthless item, your fault is also your lack of knowledge about the game. Greedy noobs getting ripped off, nothing new there. Eve is harsch, so you should be very careful about what you do.
What GM said: if it looks too good, its probably a trap. Btw. this is not just in eve that way - how did you now know such a basic rule??? |

It is not a bug - there is a Margin Trading skill, which allows you to setup Buy orders with a fraction of the total order value, and with not enough ISK in the wallet to cover the rest, the order is just canceled on any sale.
...And they all crave one thing - ISK. ¤
