my, and a lot other players problem, wish:
scanning down a combat site, going in, fighting through all rooms, with corpmates or alone, and then in the last room, the boss was always killed or some uber ninja looter sneaky follows and shoot and loot the boss. this system frustrates and many people wont do combat sites anymore becaus of this.
idea 1: seed site keys again, or acc. gate keys. ehm, like in the old complexes.
idea 2 or better imho: only who fly first into a scanner combat site, who belongs this site. only fleetmember or so can pass the first gate, have access. you know that mission system from the game "anarchy online" mission keys, keys duplicators...?
idea 3 very important: if the boss is killed, the whole site must disappaer from the scanners!

Also, the site does despawn when the relevant NPC is destroyed, it just takes a minute or two.

I don't think you understand the current system. If you're regularly running a site and finding the overseer killed before you get there there's something horribly, horribly wrong with how you're doing things.
As for the rest: no. I'm mostly an explorer myself and I'd still rather not lock anyone else out from scanning my sites. Keeps the heart young and gets me an occasional kill and a handful of new friends. |

If the chief NPC is dead when you get to the last room you aren't running the site fast enough. Combat sites are about competition, those that don't run them anymore simply leave more available for those of us that do. |

Actually, you're being *very* lucky.
If someone can get to the "boss" first, and kill them, before you get there, then they're almost certainly flying something that can take you out in one volley or less. So, your *real* worry should be that they are lurking in the final room, waiting for you to arrive, so that they can kill you, and take any loot you have already picked up, before their corps(e)-mates loot and salvage the rest of your mission space.

I'm talking about hisec combat sites, If someone opens fire on me in a blingy ship they will be CONCORD fodder. Of course lo/nullsec is an entirely different matter |
