Hi guys and girls,
My husband has told me to get a pos setup and start trying researching some bpos n try to make a profit manufacturing. I have a problem tho that we can go away from home at least 3 nights a week, is there a setup for if im wardec to still have my pos/bpos if a wardec was to happen? Going to have 2b+ worth of bpos, so could maybe spend 1.5b on the pos/defense.
Thanks Anna

Not really, if someone wants to take down your POS they will, no amount of automated defences will stop a group who fully intends to destroy your tower.
That said, a number of things to make this situation less likely:
1 - Don't mouth off / smack talk in local or draw attention to yourself in any way. 2 - ECM battery the **** out of the tower with a good number of online hardeners, and some offlines as well, this will dissuade a lot of groups from bothering unless they have inside knowledge of the tower value. 3 - Don't rely on guns killing anything as a dedicated group will have logi. 4 - The less people that know about your operation the better. 5 - Full stront in bay 6 - Have a cheap laptop you can log into EVE for a few minutes and check everything's fine?
With 24 hours Dec delay + time to reinforce POS + 1 day 17 hours reinforce timer, even if someone were to wardec you the second you left home, there's a good chance you'd still be back in time to do something about it. |

First off, you're not posting with your main, right? You don't want a forum post to make you a target.
The size of the POS has a large effect on it's deterrence. Make sure you have stront. Some people will shoot your tower long enough to find out. Don't keep all your BPO's in the POS. Keep them safely in a station and only pull the ones you need to the tower. Preferably only taking BPC's to the tower. You can check the killboards looking for tower attacks in your region to gauge the current threat level. It would be lower risk and lower cost to learn how to manufacture in a station before setting up a POS.
Good luck!

You have 24 hours from the time war is declared until fighting can start. You should plan to cancel any jobs that won't complete before the war starts, take the POS down and store it in a station until the war is over. This can be expensive if you don't build it into your plans at the start but it's better than losing the POS and the jobs which is what will probably happen unless you are in an alliance that can defend it.
Don't waste money on defenses in high-sec. They won't help in a war and they aren't needed otherwise since CONCORD will defend the POS for you.
To reduce the likelihood of a war - keep a low profile as suggested by others. In particular, you hauler(s) should be in an NPC corp. |

Nobody wants to shoot at an online POS in hisec for hours.
That being stated, if people actually do, it is for a good reason. So don't give them a reason.
A large tower with hardeners (max 3 per resist, but just fill the holes) and EWAR defenses is far more bothersome than an indefensible small tower. |

Couple of points I want. to make.
1) ecm will do nothing if they bring marauders to bash your pos. 2) is your profit going to be enough to offset fuel costs vs researching in a station? Even if you mine/make you own fuel it has the cost of those materials had you sold/done something else to generate isk. 3) do you have a laptop? Eve can probably run on anything from the last decade. Just use a smartphone app like evanova to check notifications at least once a day for incomingg wardecs. Then leash your laptop to your phone and tear down your pos. Eve, or any online game, doesn't use a lot of data. Outside of updates. You could also setup something like teamviewer and rd to your computer. Be a pain but doable to tear down your pos that way. 4) if you do get dec'd with assets at risk, you can consider hiring a merc Corp( if you're unable to pull assets out due to tower being reinforced and not available when the pos comes out of reinforcement). |

It is more common to use Oracles and cap-stable Amarr T1 battleships, occasionally a Dominix with sentries.
Everything in EVE has a counter. |

Seeing how the op is unlikely to be able to defend the pos almost 50% of the week, it. Is unlikely the guns will be manned. Yes sentry drone boats are good against ecm and asfaik defenses don't target drones.
I was merely pointing out the flaw in relying on a dickstar setup, which you have added to.

Honestly find a npc research station if you rin highsec. Only reason to have a pos for research is to use the experimental lab for t3 prints.
All your BPO's will be safe in a station, take it from a guy whose corp has several billions in prints between its research station and primary production facility. |

If someone finds a tower that forces them to apply effort (e.g. can't AFK in T1 ships), only the truly committed will proceed, and the rest will look for an easier target.
Using a station though is probably the best bet for the OP. |
