After watching, I have to say, very cool stuff. We need more newbros with some of that 'let's just do it' attitude, the kinda guys and gals who just do and learn as they go. I like... no, I LOVE that attitude. Make mistakes, learn from them, and become better for it. They gave it a really good crack and they get my thumbs up.

I've heard that the big blue donut refers more to the glaze of the doughnut. If that's true and most allied corporations don't know the internal politics of other blue corporations this group might have a chance at continuity.
Provided there is no over-arching belief that everyone in the big blue donut knows everything about everyone else in the big blue donut.

IIRC they all followed some video blogger called Arumba with buddy invites.

You can disagree with me without disagreeing with CODE. I'm merely a soldier, and my experiences and opinions of space combat are my own.
That being said, I have a lot of experience with combat, and a well-flown interceptor should never be beat by a rookie ship. A T1 frigate, maybe, but in this case, he lost because he tried to deaggress to dock and reship. He tried to play silly docking games, and paid the price. Additionally, the low-skilled toon flying the Incursus was actually me. Milana's my alt. My "Oh look, a low skilled toon in a T1 frigate I can pad my KB with.... oh ****, she's better than I thought," alt.
I usually show that kill to newbros that complain they don't have the SP to PVP though, as well as one where I took on an '06 vet in a Stratios with a Gnosis in lowsec and won there as well. I have lots of kills around where I've taken on far older toons in matching or better ships, and won.
But anyway, this thread isn't about that, it's about newbros actually getting into the action instead of buying Hulks and afk mining in Halaima. I'm totally on side with everything this thread represents. Go newbros!

Last I checked these guys were over 800 members and still decced by PIRAT, Marmite and a few other merc alliances. I like their attitude a lot and their CEO is doing his best to learn what he can... and apply that to his utmost. The fact that they actually bring a veritable horde of newbros out to confront a full PIRAT fleet of 20+ T3's and 4 or 5 Nestors and actually manage to pop a Loki is pretty inspiring.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcW4P5YhfHs
Another vid uploaded with their second attempt. It's pretty good.
Strangely, there seems to be no 'save teh chilluns' outcry when it comes to this particular batch of baby seals. Maybe it has something to do with their CEO and their reaction to the situation. *shrug*
I'll be watching them with interest in the coming months.

I think it's funny that we still have carebears screaming "PvP drives newbies away!" while this is going on right in front of their faces.
Broken records, one and all.
"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."
One of ours, ten of theirs.

Undoubtedly some newbies will quit because of PvP, but such is the nature of the beast; it is a PvP game after all.

To be honest I think a large part of why they're doing so well dwells in the attitude of the leadership. The whole 'what's that? I dunno.... GET IT!' mentality is paying off well for these guys from what I can tell. Sure, they make mistakes such as finding out the hard way what a smartbombing Rohk does. They also seem to be adapting as a result. The second video, (and I'm sorry if the link took folks to where I stopped watching - I fail at youtube) showed them trying to employ ECM to disrupt the logi chain.
They seem keen to try new things and see how they work and appear to be having fun in the process. I'd say they're winning EVE.

Hengle Teron wrote:what game did they come from ? A large percentage of the corporation are people completely new to to the game, those people mostly consist of Arumba's dedicated followers on Twitch/YouTube. When he got a war declaration, he put out a call to arms with no commitment needed on one of his live streams where people flocked to the game to join in the madness. Most of the viewers were fans of his videos of playing Europa Universalis and Crusader Kings (quite often the multiplayer videos with fellow streamers; Northernlion, Quill, Mathas and also the 'tac-team' stuff with Shen).
Then there's also a small collection of us (I'd estimate about 50-60) who've been around the block a few times and have returned after a year or more off the game, along with some who've not stopped at all since starting in the mid 2000's.
Marcus Alexzander wrote:Awesome, and inspiring. I hope they keep up the fun. Oh we're definitely not going to stop growing and doing more fleet activities, we probably won't do constant swarms as we want to keep trying new tactics and doing the same thing over and over can get stale... but we're definitely not going to stop having a fun time.
Omar Alharazaad wrote:Last I checked these guys were over 800 members and still decced by PIRAT, Marmite and a few other merc alliances. Looks like we're on 794 members at the moment, there's the occasional drop in numbers here and there but the new sign-ups seems to heavily out weight those leaving. We currently have 12 corporations/alliances that are at war with us (3 of those seem to be doing absolutely nothing), probably the most active war targets who engage with us are PIRAT, The Marmite Collective, Confederation of xXPIZZAXx and It Must Be Jelly Cause Jam Don't Shake. |

Keep up the good work then. I look forward to more fleet footage of you guys. It really does make some of the boring twelve hour shifts at work far more tolerable.

OMG, as a player of several years I never saw an Eve video that caused more facepalm and pure fun a the same time while watching it. Really makes me want to join and try to relieve the simple times... Well, lets hope they stay on the true path and don-¦t get sidetracked like BNI has become.
Also, I remember watching a few Crusader Kings II videos from that guy a year or so ago (props for having an excellent taste, btw); the world truly is small......

I want those days again. I remember when me as a noob and a bunch of other noobs got awoxed in a corp and the Brit decided to make a corp and drag us along with him. We were all learning and experiencing the game with each other at the same time.
