Esteemed fellow capsuleers,
In reviewing the data fragments gleaned from the observatories, I now wonder if there will be more facilities to inspect at some point in the future. The data suggests, for example, that there was an observatory in Villore (see below). An observatory in that system has not decloaked... meaning that it is still operational and cloaked, in a delayed state of decay, or perhaps destroyed or decomissioned at an earlier point in time.
Thge other possibility is that it was MOVED... but given how truly massive and large these structures are, at over 200km in length, I find the idea fantastical. Them again, did any of us think that something of that volume could be cloaked? Hmmmm... perhaps all bets are off when it comes to the capabilities of the Jove.
So, a question: has anyone investigated systems for observatories that have not been marked with beacons? If so, was Villore checked?
Another question: why are these facilities so damned LARGE? A mere observaional outpost would not require such massive infrastructure...

YC11-03-11 - Life sign detected aboard the ship. Contrary to intelligence gather by Villore observatory, vessel not destroyed. Remaining in Ouperia to monitor.
The problem with slavery is that only half of the manacles are visible. The Holder, supposed master, is equally bound by the gilded chains of privilege and wealth.

From what We have been able to determine, these observatories contain a wide variety of equipment that allows them to see and hear great distances. They are capable of seeing and hearing not only comm data, but also perhaps - our research suggests - person-to-person interactions. |

Referring directly to your own gleamings provides you with an answer. Either the primary structure moves or it dispatched smaller structures or vessels to observe. As for cloaking, Titans cloak, why are we surprised anything bigger can cloak? |

Seems that there should be an observatory in Ouperia/Old Man Star as well.
