STANDING ISSUE
They seems an issue get again after a major patch update, this time since kali was released. After DownTime Player Corp standings are updated, however this is not happening AGAIN!!
Is someone forgotting to re-apply the configuration, as it seems to happen only after patches, which normally follow with unschedualed DownTime which effect corp standings.
PLEASE ADDRESS.

Fix the drones unlocking assigned npc target bug
Drones will unlock an assigned npc target after some time and relock a new npc target if one is present
This bug has been in eve for about a year but has not been fixed. And I just did a mission and it happened to me so I know that it has not been fixed
The bug is very simple; drones will after some time unlock an assigned npc target and relock something else
NO the target did not move out of range and NO I did not tell the drones to attack something new
The most simple way to see the bug is to place your self between 2 npc structures both of them beeing around 40km from you and 80km from each other
If the drones dont unlock on their way towards target 1 then they will unlock towards target 2
This can also be seen when fighting npc targets with a nice tank, after some time the drones will unlock the targe tthey are attacking and relock something else if there is another target within range
This bug applies to all drones and you can use any drone to see it but if you cant find the all or any drones then use ogres

I have to second that. Even after petitions, bug reporting, and general *****ing the dev and ISD I chatted with have no idea this is happening. Is this some evil plot by CCP to prevent more research slots...jk.

As to the new contract gui, it has killed escrow. No sorting by item, title, or price with it being spread out over multiple lines on multiple screens has made it into the biggest timesink in the game for anyone wishing to browse it. To be honest, the region by region would not be too bad if we still had a single-line user-controled sorted display we could view. I am no longer interested in purchasing over-priced toys since it now takes at least 10 times longer to do any browsing and I cannot be sure if I am getting the best deal without sorting.
Now the question I have that will never get answered is this. Was this change done by people that knew nothing about high-volume order processing screen design or was it done intentionally to use up more time? I believe the answer is a little of both.

Before I trained 2 level 5 skills for salvage I checked the forums after the patch. And guess what? THE NEXT DAY it was stated in this thread http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=433090 that salvage prereqs would be lowered "- Decrease the pre-req which is a tad high atm (This will be in the Tuesday patch)." YOU wasted your time by not staying informed. It was stated repeatedly on the help channel from 30 NOV on that the prereq would be lowered.
Now, why do you suppose they lowered the prereqs? Because ppl complained? I think they lowered it because they realized oops we don't have enough people salvaging all of these wrecks being created. Personally, I assumed the prereqs were going to 4's so I trained an additional 36 hours from 3's to 4's that I didn't specifically need to. Oh well I have those skills for something else later. But I didn't waste my time going to 5's just for salvage because I knew 1 day after the patch that the prereqs would change within a week.
You snooze you lose... Attention to detail FTW!

Salvage is rank 3, hmm, that's just swell. Not. Finding piles of garbage has become a nobel-laureate profession now?
And the reqs for Salvage go down to Survey 3 and Mech 3? Gee, just in time for the rest of to finish Survey 5. What a rip, just because piles of noobs and macro-miners complained. Hmph. Grow a pair, CCP, and stick to your guns. Either that, or refund me the 5 days it took to skill up survey - which is otherwise useless to me.
While I'm at it, how about a refund on this useless biology skill.

Salvage simply takes too long.
In order for it to be economically viable for a ratter to hang around a belt after looting to salvage - and please don't insult my intelligence by pretending the possibility of a dedicated salvaging profession of people going around doing nothing but - each component needs to remain at its current market cost of 250k isk each, or it makes less isk/hr than moving onto the next belt.
This puts the cost of a rig - with the updated build requirements currently on SISI - at over 250m isk per T1 rig.
Lets not add how soul-crushingly BORING hanging around a wreck for minutes at a time waiting for the dice to roll a 20 is. I'd have though if there was anything to learn from ECM, its that chance sucks.

Still no fix for fighters MWDing back after being recalled? THey take several, yes SEVERAL minutes to come back from a target thats 50 - 60k away. As far as Im aware this bug has been in since carriers/fighters were put into the game. Its getting rediculous.

hehe. why in the first place do i have to look for melted circuits and other junk to build something from it? why cant i just set a bantam on fire and get that junk out of it for rigs? or why can't i just build the functional circuits and make rigs from them? i can hardly believe a rig works with damaged components (and if i want those i can purposely damage working components :P). the whole idea of the source for rig components is silly, but oh well, this is OT here. --

I couldn't really comment on your intelligence but we have dedicated salvage piolts in this neighbourhood, they clean up all the belt rats produced by mining ops and follow the mission runners around. Destroyer seems to be a popular ship as components are small and a destroyer can fit 4 tractors and 4 salvagers. Also if you ask nice they'll throw all your loot into a can for you so looting is much easier. Perhaps you just live in a bad neighbourhood.

1. Fix the lag. Somehow, every single "patch" that introduces "optimizations" to the client and the server since DRAGON has destroyed lag-free or lag-lite gameplay. It progressively gets worse and worse. CCP has a horrible record of saying "Oh, this is what's causing the lag" and then they change it, and the lag stays the same. Supposedly they increase the server capacity by 40%, but somehow the game is still EXTREMELY laggy during peak and eve non-peak (2 hours before DT) times. Kali1 takes effect and then you get the dreaded weapon slot won't deactivate/weapons fail to fire while waiting for synch/it takes 87 seconds to dock at a station. There were 12,000 people on the server last night, and it took 10 minutes to jump from Isen to Saila, while being told I was number 65 in the queue. The warp to zero was supposed to help get rid of instas, which supposedly were the harbingers of lag... but I know people like me diligently deleted all their instas, and have seen a DECREASE in performance.
I hate to be one of those people... but if this patch on Tuesday doesn't make things remarkably better, I'm going to cancel my sub with my friends until these forums reflect better gameplay experience. And I plan on coming back if it gets better, so no you can't have my stuff. If it doesn't get better, then maybe if you're lucky. (Gist X-Type XLarge SB, anyone?)

Hi
Firstly (and reason why i post) Plz fix so drones can attack wrecks, If you are doing some of the big missions, its very confusing to have 40-50 wrecks lying.
Secondly (this is probably off topic) As a dedicated drone figther im a bit dissapointed with revalations. I was hoping for some kinda faction stuff for dronefigthers. What i mena is: There are faction guns, faction ships with plusses to guns, faction ammo. But for us dronefigthers theres well nothing. Would have been really cool to see a faction version of the domi or some faction drones introduced (re-introduced, since the hellhounds were taken out)
I love eve, and fighting with drones, is my career of choice, but since im close to maxed out on the drones/domi combo, theres really not much more to train for :-/
just a thought

Originally by: Graduran Anguirill before the patch i was running missions for around 3-4 hours every day, because I thought it was fun and I actually liked it and the payment overall was decent for a new player. I like loot (even if its craploot!), I like looting if there is loot, I like killing rats and I like missionobjectives and well, I liked missioning as a new player (about a month now).
Now, I dont even bother logging in at all, I helped a friend yesterday with a mission that ended with 50+ wrecks, I went around to 10 of them for starters and none of them had loot so I just warped home to HQ and logged after I wasted around 20 minutes on nothing.
Can someone with experience give me suggestions as of what to do now, I dont like missioning anymore since the lootpart is 100% ruined. I cba to drive around for ages from empty wreck to empty wreck finding nothing, thats just a waste of time for _my_ part, we are all different and while some people perhaps enjoy flying around for nothing, I dont. I need goals to drive somewhere, I want purpose, without purpose its dull to do something in a game. While I can agree with that EVEdude to a certain extent that it is realistic that every ship drops a wreck, I can also say that realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance, that goes for every single game out there on the market as of today including EVE or the game looses its mainpurpose, to be fun to spend time on.
...
Perfectly stated. Jiekon / Kieron / CCP read this again: >realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance >realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance >realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance >realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance >realism should never, ever exceed funfactor in importance
Realism would be lots of Scrap Metal of 10m3 each in wrecks. Realism would be Salvager modules showing salvagable items in wreck contents, not magically moving it into cargohold.
Fun would be cans for loot and wreck for salvagers. Fun would be loot automatically moved into cargohold if can within 5km, just like salvage does. Fun would be Salvage not being chance based anymore.
Bring back the cans Tuesday.

How about making the salvage items a wee bit easier to come by??? At least one guy in my corp has been salvageing since day 1 and has a total of about 36 different components. after searching well over 300 wrecks, that's almost a 1 in 100 chance of getting something... rigs are never going to take off unless this is changed...

Maybe idea was to make it a bit more dangerous so that you have to spend time near wreck before you get the loot... More or less you should get more items over time... and this can be either done two ways: either remove time it takes or more items per salvage.

I've got a few comments on contracts, specifically auctions.
First, to get it out of the way, I think the region restrictions on the new contract system will kill it. Make AT LEAST the search span the entirety of EVE (preferably it all). Having everything regionalised will simply mean that even more people will go to Jita :-/
Ok, that out of the way, comments on auctions. I think they have great potential, but there are some things that needs to be changed. 1. We need to know the exact time when the auction ends. At the moment it doesn't even show a reliable time (sometimes saying 1 day, and then later saying 2 before going back to 1). It is so utterly fustrating to either accept being beaten, or have to monitor it for 24 hours :-/ 2. When the exact time is known, there'll be a need for a sniper rule (i.e. bids are accepted for 1/2 hour or so after last bid). 3. It would be VERY nice with a feature like on Ebay where you can put in the maximum you want to bid, and you then autobid if someone outbids you, but it's still below your maximum.
And some comments on contracts in general. 1. There need to be an option with item groups NOT to include when displaying search results. Currently, a LOT of the auctions are for BPC's, which are nice, but very annoying if that's not what your're looking for. 2. Searching on groups have to be implemented. For example I'm looking a lot at faction/officer items, but with the current system I'll have to look at ALL contracts available, or search on every single faction item type one-by-one. Not acceptable.
In general though, a good beginning, and a system I think hold a great deal of promise, but in it's current state it is not a good replacement for the old escrow system (even with all its faults).

It is definitely time consuming, but if you work in a gang and had higher salvage skills, you could probably salvage 5 wrecks within 30 seconds and then move onto the next batch. However, that requires the other memebers to kill battle ships that quickly, which is unlikely. Based on market average sell price (again, don't know if anyone actually is purchasing)
I jsut ran around the belts cleaning up wrecks. I couldn't use a tractor beam cause of the ownership thing (lame), but I liked the idea of it being a mini-profession. Problem is that it is too messy for those that don't want to bother with it and rigs are way too crucial unlike cosmos hacky/arch stuff which was just for special blueprints. ______________________________________________________ I forget which station container has my memory implants. |

I am not seeing anything in the notes about the rather annoying traffic advisory issues. for example this is currently going on:
Warped from Luminaire into Mies, go through Mies gate then sit with the same stargate for 5 minutes with no warnings.
Enter Mies warped in at 100,000km away from the Luminare gate. Think ok thats weird warp to gate to Oursulaert and get this message:
"**** left Mies *secs ago"
Stuck, can't do anything. Relog then I'm queued to enter the game.
Bloody annoying. How about the white flash between jumps?

The traffic advisory issues are a general problem that they certainly know about and probably have to do more with general 'optimizations' and server load than a specific bug that can be easily fixed. So they don't say anything about it. They also surely know about the white flash, cause everyone mentions it. Autopilot Jumping...
