Thought you guys might enjoy the title.
This one is simple. Allow players to create a special hold in their cargo bay. This isn't so much a hold as it is a barrier, if you want to think of it as to how it applies to the ship.
Basically, this just allows you to create a section in your cargo hold to put the things you always use. IE, the ammo you use, small container that you store boosters in, MTU, etc. etc...
It isn't so much an addition to the ship as much as an added feature to the game.
Allows you to put the items you use at the top of your cargohold, have have them dedicated to that spot, so they don't get mixed up with loot.

Not even remotely the same time, and requires you to search for items. This means it only applies to a specific or like items.
I can't have ammo, cans, booster, and other needed/used items right on top. Filter only allows you to search those items, which is the same as sifting through the items.... For the most part |

Compression containers go right to the top. I used those to sort my things before the inventory filter existed. I just wish there were containers that do not compress, so that they could be placed assembled inside other containers for a layered inventory sorting system.
Pirate ship Nightmare, can you fathom
Larger but with smaller spikes than Phantasm
The Succubus looks meaner
But the Revenant cleaner
Seems as they get bigger, the smaller spikes they has'm

After a certain point, nested containers always break in databases, which is why they're not generally used.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

i made the same basic suggestion years ago, nothing came of it so i put small containers in my ships, doesnt work that great but better than nothing.
Yawn,-á I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Most pvpers that I know circumvent this by using medium cargo containers for a little extra space for cap boosters. You can have those open and move stuff around from them to your actual hold.

For clarity's sake, it sounds like what you're gunning for is a sort of cargo bay partitioning rather than simply what the filter system gives? So that items you select like ammo and refit kits will always show above others like loot and unessential items near the top of the cargo bay, whether filters are enabled or not? Kind of a way to sort items by showing, "My stuff first then everything else separately", including keeping item stack quantities intact. Maybe a way to set a priority flag on said chosen items.
Why not? While the filters are a good help at times, they are a bit clumsily designed. There is still no way to dictate a filter to show ammo based on size, and some meta groups are worded oddly or don't line up with how they are arranged in the market which is about the best built in point of reference admittedly. An example is how some ECCM modules (the signal distortion amps, I think) are in their own separate group when setting up filters, though they are normally found with all the other ECCM modules in the same group. Interestingly, there's even some meta groups that are present that probably shouldn't be visible to players -- like the one that sounds like it's CONCORD's resist disrupting mods, I forget the name of the group, but it's there.

"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

+1 some custom ordering of items or a tick with "always on top" or as the OP said a barrier to seperate the items u use on the ship and keep the loot and other stuff in another place ..
filtering system u gotta tick and untick difrent rule sets to toggle between items ..
container, lets say i have mtu, depot refit mods, ammo, odds are i dont fill the cargo container with the refit mods to justify the extra space and actualy end up loseing space if i dont wanna mix up the items with loot. autoreload i belive also wont see ammo in the container ? might be wrong here .

I can see the use for this because you can't easily use items from containers.
It always annoys me when I want to loot with my ship and the normal operational items get mixed in with random loot. |

This, in a nut shell.
Lets put it this way... We'll say you've got a Tengu out exploring for combat sites. You don't swap sub-systems so that you don't have to dock, but you do swap out modules to suit the site.
So, you carry a mobile depot, ammo, and several modules. If you're looting, this means that many of the modules, as well as the mobile depot, get mixed up amongst all the loot.
Being able to set an item as a primary, or putting it into a primary partition ensures that it's always on the top of your cargo hold, and you don't have to manage containers. |
