I have my own personal rule where i will honour a 1v1 as i think a 1v1 is a cool thing and shows a bit of skill regardless if you win or lose, i mean anyone can drop a friend in and kill a target its not really skillful outnumbering someone.
Who else will always honour a 1v1 and what other rules do you pirates follow?

We will always honor ransoms and anyone who enters a fleet with us is safe. On top of this we will never violate any agreement made. Any cases where this is in dispute are investigated and dealt with to my knowledge severely.

On a side note all ALTs of mine fly by Noragen's code. Meaning that they agree to Noragen's deals and support Noragen's fleets corps etc

We still do ransoms quite often. A good sported Scandinavian in a Drake recently chose to entertain us with a song on Mumble rather than pay the ISK ransom offered. He was let on his way and we even tipped him for his vocal prowess. |

I dont honor **** on any of my toons.
Im still semi-suprised but not really cuz they are dumb at HOW MANY bears STILL pay me 20-50mill when i got them in structure right before i blow them up.
And they act soooo suprised lol.
For YEARS people have said "omg if you dishonor ransom the fish in the sea will dry up and no1 will pay ransoms!" Seriously freaking over half a decade and prob longer.
Still idiots pay ransoms all the time.
We are freaking PIRATES dude. Arrrgggg walk the plank and pilliage and plunder and the booty!
Sidenote. That moment when you commit the dishonor is probably THE most satisfyingly awesome moment of the game and prob since i did it prior. It hits the spot. Wow its good. THAT MOMENT is why i play. God.... mmm |

If I offer a ransom I honor it. Likewise I'm plenty comfortable with a 1v1 if it's properly arranged (time, place, yadda yadda).
On the other hand I've also been ransomed before, paid, and was set free. I then had a pleasant chat with those who had gotten the drop on me. Good times for all involved.
Likewise there are situations where there's not going to be any kind of ransom. If I get the drop on another mission flipper who's operating in the same system as me, and we have no kind of pre-arranged agreement, then it's gonna be a fight. I've had this go both ways, but it's always satisfying. Usually there's a bewildered mission runner sitting on grid wondering what the actual hell is going on as two flashy guys go at it like a pair of dogs fighting over a scrap of meat.

I make a big deal about such deeds in local in an attempt to get the mission runners to send me isk. Usually works too especially if the flipper was being mouthy in local. Best I made was like a few hundred in loot and another 350mil in donations from killing a goon and his goon boosting ALT in a t3 during the MTU aggression days. I do like when championing the bears pays well. Oh the 350 mil was likely due to how lippy he was (which is why we were contacted about it) and the glorious glorious tears he cried in local about it all especially his booster ship and pod. I feel nostalgic. Omar where do you bait I need a fix of being a good guy again and freighter pilots are stingy and ungreatful

I have a few watering holes I frequent, but I also try to keep a bit mobile as falling into routine and developing patterns is unhealthy. Lately I've been more prone to wander from system to system rather than set up in any of my usual fishing spots. Egglenaert for some reason has produced some fairly good results in the past. Ourselaert used to, but lately all I see there are rookie ships, frigates and destroyers.
Edit: Lately I also haven't been doing much violence either... RL and stuff. Plus I tend to get easily distracted and end up chatting with the irate, amused, and bewildered.

I actually honor ransoms; haven't had much of a chance to, most players don't believe me which can be a good thing.
1. I would honor a 1v1, but it would have to be in lowsec, I'm -10 and I'm not throwing down isk to "fix" it. 2. Probably also going to want it to be in Frigates; hull doesn't matter as long as it's a Frigate. 3. I would advise the opponent to scout the system for their own sake of curiosity and I would do the same. 4. We would have to be in a fleet the entire duration of the fight to ensure no links and no one else is coming.

I'm always down for a legit frigate 1v1 in Black Rise.

Starfox, just let me know if you want to go for a frigate tumble sometime. I'm mostly in high sec but I'm plenty happy to derp a frig for a good fight. Timing may be an issue, as I have some limited playtimes. I don't mind heading into low either if that's more convenient.
That being said, I'm gonna throw in my vote that the next thunderdome be frigates and then industrials for brackets. fast and furious followed by 'da fuq?'

Eve has changed, man. The good guys are pirates now. The bad guys are mining in highsec without permit.
I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it.

Personally i am not the sort of player who plays for "Tears" so i gain no satisfaction from dishonoring a ransom or not keeping my word. I am however like a true pirate in it for the money. Every kill is assessed and if the kill itself is thought to yield less than a successful ransom then one is offered.
I fly cheap and effective ships and as a result i can normally successfully pay for all my ships through loot/ransoms alone. |

If I were to offer/accept a ransom I would honour it. However... the last time my target said "ransom?" in local, it was a delaying tactic so his buddies could come and pounce me. So now I usually just shoot, loot and get out as fast as possible. |

To the best of my knowledge The Cannibal always kept his word.
Trick was getting him to give it.
As for me and my cute fuzzy hamsters, if we offer ransom, and it's paid, we honor the contract.
