Quote:Um. You can lose destroyers and haulers any time during the year. I doubt your losses had anything at all to do with Hulkageddon. It is disingenuous to blame those losses on the event.
Was just saying those two ship loses(two of three that I've lost) was during Hulkageddon, and to provide an example of what ships are being targeted during Hulkageddon (IE anything that happens to be in a belt). I really have no problem with it, I expect to lose a ship this time and the next one and the one after that and so forth |

Hey Hulk gankers, here's a bunch of candidates for bot hulk targets. They're based in Ekura VII - Moon 14 - Caldari Constructions Warehouse, Lonetrek
Here's 5 of them that I see right now on local. No matter when I get online, their miners are busy day and night. They stand out like a sore thumb in local, they are nearly identical blonds with glasses and like their names, have just a simple cosmetic change to make them different. Same corporation.

What was the CSM doing prior to Incarna? Twiddling their thumbs? So basically CCP realised the situation they were in, put on a dog and pony show, then gave the CSM a biscuit and some publicity. CSM to the rescue. LOL.
Of course it had nothing to do with players protesting and unsubing, all the CSMs work.
Tired of the "tail coat" riding.
They simply drink beer to the point they cant even operate cameras at the CSM meetings. Doubt its anything more than getting a new look at the new shineys CCP have thought up and then selfishly talking about a few issues they want resolving that they will benefit from.

I love it when threads devolve into the standard conspiracy theories. The 'real' motivation of CCP or CSM or other alphabet group of "them". It's always THEM...
It's a player run event. There is no change to the game, it's the basic mechanics that always exist. At any point an individual, corp, or alliance can xfer money or items to you for whatever reason. You can always suicide gank a hulk in high sec. If someone else decides to reward you for that...that is between those players really.
I'm not sure what it is care bears want CCP to 'do' about it. It's just people actually using the existing mechanics more one month than others. But of course, that is much less interesting than reading into why a company that makes a space war game doesn't care much if people go to war in space in their game....... |

Your assessment that Hulkageddon as an isk sink is inaccurate and without merit.
Even with the ganksters ganking hulks and other industrialists ships every day throughout the year, even with the week long hulkgeddon that isnt even 1/10th of 1 percent of the total losses suffered by non industrialists, and even though the carebears you speak of are by majority, alts of pvp or i should say non-industrial players, This method of destruction serves to only strengthern the vast industrial complex that is Eve Online.
I make more isk because of ganksters and hulkageddons or other so called indy interdictions. I do not suffer one isk loss in a single event that cannot be made up almost immediatly due to the vast industrial capabilities I have at my disposal.
Should you ganksters believe that you are that important to the formula, if you believe you are making a solid contribution to the control of industrial might in New Eden, then apparently you have not taken a lesson from history. He who controls the isk, controls the universe. Gank awayGǪ You are making me even richer than my dreams of Avarice.
Thank You for your time and attention to our profitability.
Oh and btw, The Indys around eve cry like carebears so you can feel important about your so-called contribution.

Children, be aware that the great Goonswarm Federation is presently off fighting meaningful wars in the far reaches of space. Thus, destroying the mining ships of hapless mentally challenged capsuleers who failed the concord military spaceship command exams at the end of their education is quite low on the list of our priorities. |

Well, seems like Hulkageddon took over in Hek yesterday, blowing up my Hulk. I must say this was a most spectacular look, seeing you guys floating around the station, fending off all those mechanisms that noobs (I probably should still consider myself one) rely so much on. Unfortunately I ignored that. I was just teaching some new players about mining and it probably was my own fault that my Hulk got blown up. I had to get back to the station at some time and saw like 10-20 of you, looking like waiting for something. When I heard my pals were being attacked, it was too late, I was already in warp, going straight towards death. One shot and I was sitting in a pod and my wallet capital was halved.
Nonetheles, the experience was good for me and those new players, because it is quite rare to see such big events in action. Even though I can't support rich, strong players ganking people who want to work in order to get to a similiar status (and thus increasing the gap between poor and rich, just like in real life), I think this is a necessary experience a player must make. So go on, but PLEASE make your announcements more open next time. It is hard to know when there is danger when you guys fail giving a concrete time plan. I heard/read something about "a week". So I guess it is over after sunday?
I must admit, one single tear was shed because it will take me months to put that money together again to buy another Hulk. You greedy people ;) I guess each one of you is carrying around a bottle with industrialist tears. |

Hulkageddon, and suicide ganking in general, is just a way to keep rich industrialists rich, and stop newer players from moving out of high sec. Great way to prevent the growth of eve's player-base. All so people can collect tears.

Seriously, comrade, do you really need a warning when "Hulkageddon" starts? Everyday is "hulkageddon". that means you need to check local for any abnormal spikes in your system and do a d-scan every so often. surely, you have a clue on how many people are in your system thta you mine in at certain times when you mine. if it starts to vary, it's time to find a new home. just go make yourself a pvper and join one of them ganking nullsec alliances and go make billions ratting million plus bounty rats. then you can go do your hobby of mining. |
