I came back to the mission scene after an year living in 0.0. I got pwned in my 1st Damsel mission with my Myrm... being all PvP and all I had only enough for a new BC, so, I got a Drake.
No money = no ubber fitting, so:
7 x heavy missle launchers 1 x tractor beam
1 x Shield Booster T2 5 x hardaners (passive or active, depends on your skills)
2 x Ballistic control system 2 x cap relays
What I have to say is: it is cheap and do the job if you have the skills. :P

OK here's my current Drake setup:
High-7xUnnamed Heavy Missle Launchers, 1xTractor Beam,
Medium-5x Large Sheild Extender II, 1 empty slot (dont know what to put),
Low-3x Sheild Power Relay II, 1x Ballistic Control II.
Thoughts, suggestions? Im relatively new to the game, looking to have some fun with rats and missions with a nice, pretty battlecruiser

Edited by: Tappits on 15/06/2007 00:50:26 My pvp/pve set-ups
Hi slots 7X Heavy Missile Launchers T2 (Scourge FuryĘs) Medium Diminishing Power System Drain
Mid slots Large Shield Booster T2 Shield Boost Amplifier Medium F-RX Prototype Capacitor Boost (800Ęs) Photon Scattering Field T2 Heat Dissipation Field T2 Invulnerability Field T2
Low slots 3X Power Diagnostic System T2 Quantum Co-Processor
Rigs 3X Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones 5X Hornet T2
For pve I change out the cap booster for a cap recharger and only use T1 ammo + the right damage for the mission + the right damage drones for the mission.

Right now my active setup is (I've switched from passive, post REVII):
pve: H: 7 x named HML 1 x small tractor M: 2 x named invuln field 1 x Named Large booster 1 x named SBA 1 x named cap injector (trying to decide between 100s and 800s atm, 1 x flex spot, still trying to decide, been playing with an extra injector and a large extender L: 1 x BCU 1 x DCU 2 x PDU
for pvp I am considering adding a NOS (if it will fit, instead of the tractor), and a scram instead of the "flex spot"
my question is: is it ever worth trying to warp scram with a drake or should I just assume I will always need a tackler to agress

Currant Drake setup:
High: Still trying to figure out if HAMS are any good so i usually have a mix of: 3 Albalest Heavy Launchers 3 T2 HAM Launcher (My Pg wont let me have more than 5 of these anyway)
Medium: 2x T2 Large Shield Extender 2x T2 Shield Recharger 2x T2 Rat-Specific Resistance Amplifier
Low: 2x T2 Ballistic Control 2x T2 Shield Power Relay
Rigs: 3x T1 Core Defence Field Purger
12696 Shield HP 232sec Recharge 73% Kin 63% Therm 82% Exp 55% Em
Lv3's are **** easy Need to get better DPS to kill the stronger Lv4 BS but i can generally tank between 5-7 Bs indefinatly.
What i need to figure out is if i should just stick with 7 Heavies Launchers and use faction heavies or use 7 HAML and use T2 Javelins
It seems to me evan though they launch faster (7.73 for heavies, 3.79 for javelins) their weaker damage doesnt compensate and using heavies is still better. (Which is a waste in skill training as i have HAM Lv5 HAM Special Lv4)
People say HAMS are better but what do i need to make them better than heavies?
Cheers

I have seen Drakes piloted Passive and Active. I personally prefer passive, but either works just make sure you have the right skills to back them up. My passive setup is as follows:
HI: 7x Heavy Missile Launcher T2's -or- 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher's 1x Tractor Beam I
Meds: 3x Large Shield Extender T2's 2x Rat Specific Resistance Amp. T2's 1x Shield Recharger T2
Low: 3x Shield Power Relay T2's 1x Ballistic Control Unit T2
Rigs: (If you have the money to spend and the Shield and Missile Rigging skills topped off) 2x Shield Purger (May be incorrect name, recharges shields) 1x Missile Bay Accelerator (Once again may be incorrect name, increases missile rate of fire)
Either way with all this never had a problem with damage output or shield strength capabilities. I realize also that it is very expensive but if your not putting your ship to much risk like hitting a gate camp out of empire its very wise.
Tips: -Always have FoF missiles in your cargo hold just incase you get sensor disrupted, better to reload and even shoot off 1 volley than not shoot anything at all. -Don't just keep the same Resistance Amps. on your ship at all times. Your EM resist may be low but for missioning and ratting, the NPCs won't go outside of their specific damage type. Also change your ammo based on what you are fighting too. And if it makes you feel more confident, throw afew rounds of all types in your cargo hold just incase. -Don't think that faction based modules make your ship invincible or makes you cooler, the only person that will know or care that you ever had them is the guy that loots your wreck. -Any questions or comments on ship setups, modules or skills; or if you are looking for setup progression's please feel free to Eve-mail Me.

why would you wanna use ratspecific ammo? Doesnt the 20% (assuming you got BC 4 trained) Extra dmg for kinetic Missiles give a better bonus then the extra dmg from missiles the rats have a weak resist against?

ATM a passive fitted Drake does make lvl 5 *SOLO*
"Rogue Spy I" against Rouge Drones .
I think, that Energy Vampire Sentries are overrated.. 135 km - 200km range.. is a bit much !

A new day, a new lvl 5 drone mission.. "Rogue Spy 2/3"
We learn today : "Don't trust your Inv. Field II against Drones"
suggested Setup:
3x LSE II 1x EM 1x KIN 1x TH Amplifier II
The Drake went down on warp in to 10% shields with the inv field II and 2 T2 shield rechargers. With the amps they did not get below 50% .. proper hardwired skills recommended...
Remember, your nosed to 0, webbed to death and scrambled in seconds. Don't go active tanked into lvl 5 missions!
If no carrier is involved, it's a solo mission :)

Hi guys,
I'm wondering, how are all of you fitting up to 3 to 5 LSE II's + 7 Heavy Launchers + other stuff? I can't seem to make my third LSE fit. IĘve got shield upgrades + engineering up to 4 so far. Working my way towards HML IIĘs.
Here's my current setup:
Highs: - 7x Heavy Missile Launcher
Meds: - 2x Large Shield Extender II - 2x Shield Recharger II - 2x Rat-Specific Hardeners
Lows: - 2x Ballistic Control System II - 1x Power Diagnostic System II - 1x Shield Power Relay II
IĘd like to fit 3 LSE IIĘs and 1 SPR II, but canĘt seem to find the power grid for it. Should I just swap out a SPR for another PDS? Or is my current setup ok for lvl 3 and lvl 4 missions?

IMO - it is fine for lvl 3 & 4 missions. As for how do we get the power grid up. I forgot the skill. When I get home from work I will let you know.

weapon upgrades give you 5% reduce cpu for your launchers. advance weapon upgrades give you 2% reduce powergrid for your launchers. later Carp He asked,"What do you think of me?" I replied,"I don't think of you."

I just ran a quick LVL 4 mission against blood raiders, EM missiles were clearly doing more damage than kinetic (with BC 5 trained) for shield and armor damage (Kinetic did better with structure damage). So in this case the rat specific missiles are the better choice. |

Edited by: Nagi Katsumi on 01/08/2007 15:56:02 Highs: -5 x Heavy Launchers, -2 x Assualt Launchers
Med: -2 x Rat Spec Amps, -2 x Large Extender, - -2 x Shield Recharger
Low: -1 x BCS, -2 x Power Relay, -1 x Flux Coil
Can solo all L3's without warping, including extravaganza. The only mission it has a problem on is The Blockade. Very easy setup to do and suggested if you're just starting L3's and don't have many skills. Gives around 340 seconds for regen, has around 10,000 shield capacity (with shield management II)although I do have T1 extenders and rechargers.

Drop the two assault launchers, replace them with HMLs and use your 5 light drones for killing frigates. ------------

I have tried both an Active and Passive setup for a Drake in missions (see below). I have done most level 4's in both. However, I recently sold my Passive Tank Drake and am using the Active one full time now. I think it is better with the number of tanking slots I was using. I use 3 BCS's because I need all the firepower I can get for level 4's. The Drake is an awesome ship for missions.
Drake-Passive High: 7x HML
Mid: 3x Shield Extenders 1x DG Invunerability Field 2x Rat Specific Hardners (DG/CN)
Lows: 1x Power Diagnostic System 3x CN Balllistic Control Systems
Rigs: 3x Purgers
Drake-Active High: 7x HML
Mids: 1x DG Invunerability Field 2x Rat Specific Hardners (DG/CN) 1x Large Shield Booster 1x Shield Boost Amplifier 1x Capacitor Recharger
Lows: 1x PDS 3x CN Balllistic Control Systems
Rigs: 3x CCC's
Light Drones for both setups.

My current drake setup :
High : - xr-3200 Heavy Missile Bay - xr-3200 Heavy Missile Bay - xr-3200 Heavy Missile Bay - xr-3200 Heavy Missile Bay - xr-3200 Heavy Missile Bay - 'Malkuth' Heavy Missile Launcher - 'Malkuth' Heavy Missile Launcher - Salvager I/Small Tractor Beam
Medium : - Medium Shield Booster II - Large Shield Extender II - Large Shield Extender II - Large Shield Extender II - Y-S8 hydrocarbon I Afterburner - Magnetic Scattering Amplifier II
Low : - Damage Control I - Nanomechanical CPU Enhancer - Mark I Generator Refitting: Reaction - Mark I Generator Refitting: Reaction
The ship has no problems at lvl3 missions, but i recommand changing a large shield extender with a passive hardener t2. Currently I am doing lvl4, just finishing 'Massive Attack' (1 more bs and 1 cruiser), and the sip doesn't seem to have to much problems. Any suggestions?
PS1 : I only have 1.6 mil sp,so i'm not using all ship's potential. PS2 : Against those huge bs i use faction ammo. PS3 : If you give links, pls give the full name -not much of a writing - so that anyone can understand what do you mean - including me -

And here is mine...all Lvl 3 missions easily (had a little struggle with The Blockade until I moved the setup around to more passive) and a bunch of 4's.
7 x 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher (alternate Scourge/Widowmakers) Drone Link Augmentor (60+km range on drones)
3 x Large Shield Extender II 1 x Magnetic Scattering Amp II 2 x Invulnerability Field II
3 x Beta Reactor Control: Diagnostic System I 1 x Ballistic Control System II
1 x Core Defence Field Extender I 1 x Capacitor Control Circuit I 1 x Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I
5 x Hobgoblin II
21195 shield at 785.36 secs - not the fastest regen but the extra shield certainly helps. With 7 Arbs running at 8.7 secs the DPS isn't too shabby for my limited (almost 1 mill SP in missiles) skills, pulling 220+ damage each hit. Yes it could be better...so could my skills :) For the moment I'm not complaining!

Edited by: Lucipher03 on 23/08/2007 16:29:30 Heres my setup, running L4s in.
High 7x Malkuth heavy (ill get the arbs eventually) 1x tractor bea,
Med 3x Large shield extender IIs 1x Heat amp II 2x Invuln field IIs
Low 3x SPR IIs 1x PDS II
Rigs 1x Core defence shield Extender I 2x Core defence shield purger I
17724 shields 287 recharge time (61shield/sec) dont forget this is with only 3 SPR IIs, i need my launcher grid/cpu skills up before i can fit the 7th launcher without the PDS II, but also the arbys make it easier too.
I only have BC lvl 2 and Heavy missles lvl 3 and i can pretty much make it through most l4s. This is a passive/active setup with the 2 invlun fields, but with my shield/cap skills and i can run one of them indefinetly and both together for atleast 10 minutes. (i haven't really tested but i think they will actually run indef at about 30% cap). And if it for some reason gets to low, if i turn one of them off, my cap will actually regen back up to about 50% while still maintaining the first invuln field. Work pretty good with a decent blanket with my low BC skill and shield compensation skills
53/81/72/72 And if the enemies are EM i swap out the Heat amp II for a magnetic amp II, which balances out the EM resist.

He prolly mixed up the name and got his abbreviation from memory ending up like "Core Shield Defence Purger" which doesnt exist =) However, I think he is using a Core Defence Field Purger I, abbreviation would be CDFP I... This would explain his quick shield recharge rates as well.

Edited by: Ruckus Maximus on 29/08/2007 16:29:22 So here is my setup. I just Solo'd my first Level 4 Mission last night
High's: 7 XR-3200 Heavies with Rat Specific Ammo
Mid's: 2 Rat Specific Shield Hardners (Tech II) 2 Rat Specific Resistance Amps (Tech II) 2 Large Shield Extender II
Low's: Ballistic Control System II Type D Power Core Mod Shield Power Relay Beta Hull Mod Overdrive Injector Type D Attenuation Signal Augmentation
Rigs: Bay Loading Accelerator 2 Core Defence Field Purger
I end up with almost 13K in shield HP, and a recharge rate high enough to not need a booster. If you remove the BCS II, A Medium NOS will fit in the 8th High Slot.

Medium 3x Large Shield Extender II 1x Heat Dissipation Amplifier II 1x Magnetic Scattering Amplifier II 1x Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II
Low 3x Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay 1x Mark I Generator Refitting: Reaction Control
