No, this isn't pubbie tears after a gank, this is something that legitimately deserves CCP's attention.
The amount of anti-transgender bigotry (I refuse to call it transphobia because let's face it, the majority of those responsible are just assholes) and attendant abuse going on in EVE chat and evemail is staggering. I found myself having to block at least two people in corp chat because they were absolutely hellbent on misgendering trans folk simply for the sake of it, and getting ornery when I called them out on their cruelty. I just found out that my trans friend and beloved corpmate has refused to renew her subscription on the grounds that she is unwilling to sift though 50 evemails telling her to kill herself for being trans every time she logs in.
If you have a problem with trans people, if you can't accept that there are those who are willing and able to become another gender, I sincerely hope you are banned from EVE permanently because there is NOTHING that justifies bigotry against anyone. You can get away with a lot of shenanigans in the EVE universe, but tormenting a transgender player is not one of them. If you think that's OK, then I think it's OK to put my fist in your face.
It's one thing to taunt someone for losing a PvP fight; it's quite another to tell them to take their own life because they chose to be the person they want to be. |

If this is true then I sincerely hope it's been ticketed, and the evemails saved.
I have an old army mate who became female and really got some crap at work, (yes I work for the same company)

This.
Send in your petitions and deal with it properly. Broadcasting it in the forums is just as silly as volunteering to your corp the information in the first place. Your sexuality really has no need to be shared in-game.
I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

You'll find the same bigotry here as you will in the real world, sadly.
It's always there waiting to pounce, so just like in RL the way you also behave or project yourself can help keep it at bay, or even attract more it. I think in my 5 years of EVE I've discussed my own RL sexuality maybe twice, in friendly circles. It really has no relevance to my EVE or anyone else's.
Mails like the ones you mentioned would be reportable I'd imagine.
In anycase, sorry to hear some knobs are giving your friend and you a hard time GÖÑ

I wouldn't say that being open about your gender is broadcasting your sexual preferences.
Broadcasting your liking for anal, oral, older partners, sex toys..that's broadcasting sexual preferences.

This might sound harsh, even though I agree with the general gist of what you're saying.
People absolutely should not be subject to abuse simply because of their gender, or sexual identity, or race, etc. Absolutely not.
But when I'm in New Eden, I couldn't give a flying toss what your gender is or who you like to sleep with. I don't care, and I don't want to know. I won't abuse you for doing it because hopefully I'm not a horrible person. If we become friends and discuss it in private chat or whatever then fine, but otherwise I don't care. I see plenty of that stuff on social media.

Sure, I can go with that. But sometimes the subject comes up in corp chat, or one corpmate confides in another, then the next thing you know you're cleaning the turds out of your inbox.
@War Kitten: My friend quit EVE rather than deal with it, so the mails will likely never get reported. I'm bringing it to the forums because 1) I'm too angry to care and 2) I'm putting bigots on notice. |

I agree with your statements, though you might be surprised on that last point. A ton of people do want to know.
Personally I am very, very often asked what my age, sex and location is by other players.
I always raise an eyebrow when someone wants to know that within the first five minutes of meeting.
A lot of people do want/need to know, it seems. And imo that's kinda sad tbh.

When I was in UC I saw a couple of rather unpleasant people in corp chat. Quite possibly, player corps can just kick out the unpleasant types. |

It's an Aless thing.... I have the full chat log, and at no point was any transgender corp mate mentioned. It mostly consists of aless randomly trolling:

I agree if this mysterious corp mate even exists, please notify CCP of hate mail and get someone a deserved ban. But I'd put 1000USD on it just being aless trolling again.
