dunno, but the new HAM's let me take down Battleships in a Caracal alot faster than I was doing with just Heavy missiles.
Pick one of the lower level lvl 4's and have a go I guess. It'd be nice to hear how it goes.

I was going to try it today, didn't reach the station with my level 4 agent because of lag, so I settled for the system I was in. First mission it gives me is L4 Guristas Extravaganza. I chickened out

It was possible in a ferox, it's possible in a drake. Raven is easier, and faster though. Go rat in 0.0 if you want a little more challenge. Have faith the challenge doesn't come from NPC's

I've yet to use a Drake for lvl 4s, but I've done so with a Ferox, so bear with me on this:
The Drake with kinetic missiles does close to 2x the damage of a ferox with kinetic. The Drake also has an extra slot for tanking, and slightly better base hp.
Using only a Ferox with t2 launchers and t1 kinetic drones, I was able to kill the Duo of death as the hardest things I'd fought. Blockade and a couple other lesser missions were soloable, but big ships, like in duo, took forever due to ****poor DPS, which the Drake does not suffer.
I would suggest Heavy Missiles, because unless you use an AB, you're not going to get into HAML range of most NPCs, plus you've still got a couple hundred DPS with kinetic heavies on an offensive setup, more than enough to kill a fair number of ships.
I would suggest a setup along the lines of(fit t2 where able):
7x Heavy Missile Launcher
3x large shield extender 2x kinetic hardener 1x thermal hardener
2-3 BCUS 1-2 fitting mods (if needed) or Shield power relays.
PDUs give more shields, but overall you have better regen with SPRs, and if your tank is barely breaking with PDUs, it will likely hold with SPRs as I've noticed. If/when SPR IIs are out, grab some they'll likely be far more worthwhile.
Ideally, if you were to ever find rigs, you'd want the shield recharge rigs, ads they're free SPRs (without the cap regen loss). Each one is a BIG help.
If you can fit T2 of all I listed, you're looking at very solid tanking (You're looking at Eagle-quality resists), and with 2-3 BCUs, t2 launchers, and support skills to 4, you'll have plenty of range, and over 300DPS with kinetic.
Personally I'd go for a Raven or Nighthawk for level 4s, but the Drake will likely do the just fine if you're bored with ripping apart level 3s left and right.

Doing a GE with a Drake would be possible, but it would take an extremely long time, because you would be warping out a lot to recharge your shields, and the fastest way to recharge will be to dock and undock.

It still works. Just checked it myself. Shields (and capacitor) still fully recharge when you dock. Your SIG Is to BIG. Please keep it under these guidelines
