What you think? The ehp gain from 2 plates is TREMENDOUS but then you need to fit 220s and 1 gyro. Or 2 gyros and 425s?
Thanks. |

what are you using it for? lokis make good tacklers so the 2 plates make sense if you are going in close to point and web stuff, but 1 plate works too.
sorry misread the "solo" part, yeah 1 plate as 2 makes you slow.

Makes sense. Thanks Wang. The 425s and extra gyro is nice too even though you lose substantial buffer i guess. |

Hmmm i have mwd now. What if i drop it to an afterburner? Then only go 5-600ms ish but the mwd blows my sig up anyways. And hisec so no gate crash necessary |

And hisec so no gate crash necessary LoL nope, gate crashing can be necessary, saved me from the tide of pirat twice now after I ran into something of theirs, bit on it and failed to burn it before they emptied amarr onto my head. Training up the engineering sub to 5 might allow you the fitting room you need, the proteus and legion both do this and I can't imagine the Loki is any different.

I would seriously consider another ship for solo work all things considered they struggle to keep a good mix of speed/ehp/dps. That said what is your main aim for said Loki? |

Hmm many choices.
Use would be like wardeccing average sized missions/indy corps big enough so they dont just fold corps. So then have to prepare to take on several of them at same time.
I like the 30kish kite with point and webs that far and autocannons. Yeah need to train the engineering sub for more power.
I guess 1 plate and 220s would be best trade off with tank/dps/mobility.
I guess if i get a fight i would probably aim to fight as that is goal.
I could justify having 2 plates and super armor buffer if i keep mwd. But if i lose mwd i will be real slow with only afterburner.
Basically want to fight 3-5 mission bears and have enough buffer to take a couple out fast |

The benefit of using the Loki I guess is that you cannot really be kited with the web range subsystem. You still go 1480 m/s non heated with one plate and trimarks and can web out to 32km with heat. There are almost no unlinked T1 cruisers in the game that you would not be able to close distance against.
Problem is the DPS is going to be terrible if you want a solid armor tank. Depending on what you will actually be fighting against you are going to be on grid a while to grab kills. That said if these are total bears without much of a clue in PvP you should be fine but if they have active tanks you will struggle to break them. |

I used to run a 100mn loki pretty much 24/7, they're pretty good at staying outside proteus optimal, approaching artynados at a slight angle and extracting in general, then around 530dps cold with RF ammo and another 85dps from acolytes. Fit is around 840mil by now with another 40mil in implants. If you want an armorfit, I'd do that one. |

Gila. MWD. Put a nano or overdrive in the lows, do 2k m/s cold before links or implants. Small (or medium if it fits) cap booster to perma-run MWD. ~550 DPS with medium drones with perfect application. ~150 DPS RLML if anything quick wants to tackle you.
Long point, pair of LSEs, AIF II, T2 extender rigs. Huge buffer with decent passive recharge. Have fun.
Loki doesn't get used for solo or front line combat much. If you need an armor brawler get a Deimos, Sac or Prote. Active tanked brawlers are good for staying on field against a mob of mission fits, but something kitey like a Gila gives you the option to bail.
If you must have Minmatar look into a Hurricane, or a Vaga or Cynabal for kiting. Problem being that medium autocannons have trash DPS, compared to just about everything else.
Dual rep Brutix or triple rep myrm can tank for days and pretty cheap with good DPS. Lots of things I'd choose over a Loki.

You should've just trained for the Svipul. Way cheaper, no SP loss on death, quicker to max out and small Projectiles are better than mediums atm. |

Aye, if you have ISK to burn a Svipul with shiny shield booster and cap booster can run a monster active tank while putting out close to 400 DPS and easily sig tanking your average highsec shitfit.
Or an arty svipul can drop massive alpha with perfect tracking and then run away if things get hairy.

I have min tac destroyer V and love the svipul. Just gets beat up if it gets webbed/neuted or by drones. So if im going after like 1v3-5s of people in cruisers and above i wouldnt last in my Svipul.
I do love it though just need more Staying Power i guess.

And i get the sig tanking in thw svipul but come on. 1 lucky shot from one of 3 battlecruisers all with drones eating me. Hense the brick loki.
But i think i have decided only 1 plate with 3 trimarks and 425. Thanks. |

Now 3-5 BCs is something I'd rather engage with a Sleipnir or Tengu, not with a Loki. |

3-5 BCs will absolutely destroy a buffer Loki.
You might kill maybe one before you pop but it's 600m+ for under 100m so very inefficient. |

Why aren't you thinking of a proteus? brick tank, high dps, want to go 1v5 and walk away with a smile... a blaster astarte would also work(boy would it work), but this is what the proteus is designed to do. I think your looking to use the wrong T3.

Why are you fixated on armor tanking your loki? Minmatar has the best T2 shield resist profile in the game, use it.
Also if you solo in the Svipul, siege/skirmish links makes a night & day difference. |

I don't think the OP has any missiles or shield tanking skills trained so a VNI or GeckoTar would be a better alternative. |
