I have various researched BPO's all over High Sec and I live in 0.0. Ive been pondering on whether to use the "haulers channel" to move them to my Jump Freighters high sec pick up point.
I'm not sure how to value my BPO's so that some canny/smart hauler just fails my contracts and walks of with my BPO's.
Is the risk far to great or should I just create and alt and haul them myself?

just check contracts. most stuff is available there, if not, look for something similar, almost everything has something in its class that is worth approximately the same.
don't be afraid to ask for more collateral than what you see there (20% or so) since prices tend to fluctuate quite a bit |

Consider the replacement (NPC) cost and research time & cost.
Look at BPO that are 500m ISK or more in value, and with more than 3 months of research. Consider moving those, and sell the rest on-the-spot.
Expensive BPO, or long research time BPO, or high research cost, are very hard to sell at their actual replacement cost.
Example: I have four ME 10 large control tower BPO, which took at least a year of research, that I know will never be possible to sell even at NPC cost. Then there is my Rorqual BPO that cost a year and 3.5b to go from ME 9 to ME 10.

Value against contracts (what it would cost to replace) and set that as the collateral. Simple as that. |

IDK how it fits with your resources and desire-for-complexity (not) but prior to my most recent rage-quit I ran a similar setup.
I was building capital ships and modules for sale to alliance / coalition in sov-null. I did not, however, move any of my BPOs to nullsec. I felt, even tho I was a member of a fairly stable and powerful nullsec coalition, that the risk of losing them was too high to justify the benefits. IGÇÖm well aware of the various risk-reduction techniques for this but was not attracted to the possibility of, for example, boarding for a long international trip and arriving 36 hours later to find the station had been flipped.
My GÇÿsolutionGÇÖ was to maintain a hisec skeleton crew, with excellent industry skills, who staffed some quiet POSs doing my various BPO improvement and copying.
From time to time IGÇÖd ceptor-haul, or alternatively a covops frig or blockade runner if greater volumes needed, a collection of BPCs to my JF collection system. Then IGÇÖd move the BPCs out to my nullsec industry base as a small part of my routine resupply efforts.
Perhaps this approach will not suit you but it lets me keep many tens-of-billions worth of BPO assets relatively safe in hisec, while keeping a decent nullsec industry base active with minimal additional hassle.
A couple of times I did move BPOs to nullsec for friends. I ceptor-hauled them myself rather than entrusted them to contract haulers. When I hauled them from Jita I used a freighter to get them, only a couple at a time, out of 4-4 and into a quieter Jita station (where I also have undock instawarp BMs). IGÇÖd consolidate the load there and swap to a taxi-fit ceptor for the actual hauling part of the trip. Thankfully my JF jump-out systems were not terribly far from Jita.
I know itGÇÖs a bit of an OP-hijack but, hey, thatGÇÖs eve forums :-) As for the GÇÿvalueGÇÖ of BPOs, thatGÇÖs a pretty simple question really GǪ check the contracts window for the replacement cost of similar quality BPOs. My old BPOs, improved to perfect, were relatively inexpensive to improve. Today, however, it looks as if high quality BPO improvement costs almost as much as the original baseline BPO GǪ gulp! GǪ and takes forever.
Just my tuppence.
I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder.

If you want to produce from them in null, it's often better to copy them in high and move the copies via wormhole connections (when a favorable WH chain opens).
For most BPOs copying is lightning fast and you will be able to rapidly ramp up production.
As an example, I own 2 Talos BPOs and 2 Brutix BPOs. These copy 24/7 and when needed, I can start 20 lines producing whichever of the hulls is needed for an operation.
Shoot everyone. Let the Saviour sort it out.
I enforce the New Haliama Code of Conduct via wardec ops. Ignorance of the law is no excuse - read about requirements for highsec miners at www.minerbumping.com

Once the new structures system rolls out in Eve to a point where they are ready to delete control towers (So probably 4 years from now, given the rate of progress), you'll be refunded 100% of the npc price, so, there's that at least |
