Just added to the Player News Center:
We are aware of Tranquility's degraded performance, this is the result of an issue with today's patch. We will deploy server updates during tomorrow's maintenance period to address this. There is also a patch scheduled next week which address further stability and performance issues.
More information on the performance issues will be posted tomorrow.

Hopefully all issue will be found (finding them is the hard part) and fixed in due time! ___________________

Not often I get on the boards. But I think this is imprtant why are there no salvagable parts in the rogue drone missions or in this new revamped mission of stop the thief is this just an over site? looking into 30 plus cans and getting nothing from rogue drone missions and now this new revamped stop the thief with 20 plus cans is time comsuming . As I for one wish to do salvaging as a career with a skill of 4 nothing from these missions a;though it reports you have been sucessfull

indeed it sucks.
Kieron, can you or Oveur say something about the rig components issue? It's just that is somewhat stupid that it takes a whole week to gather barely enough components to make a T1 rig. T2 rig, I would accept that it would be harder, but T1 rigs is waaaay too screwy as it is now. -------

Edited by: Sinnbad Mayhem on 06/12/2006 04:23:42 Revelations should be renamed EVE-OFFLINE.
Suggestions:
1. Get rid of the map until you can make it less laggy 2. Get rid of most of the wrecks 3. Get rid of contracts. Bring back Escrow (I will be your slave for eternity if you do) 4. Get rid of jump queues in low sec and 0.0 (at least give my opponents chance to escape) 5. Get rid of invention. Give us T2 BPOs (pretty please but I am not holding my breath)
I know you guys are trying hard. But you know and I know this is not acceptable. (otherwise known as pure crap)
Nothing wrong with a bit of rollback. I wont tell a soul. Promise.

But degraded performance appeared before the patch. Lag was so big that day before patch going to warp or activating modules was delayed 2-3 minutes.

I just tried to play now and the client just crashes to desktop repeatedly...is this what we are calling "degraded performance"?

What degrading performance? Today was the first CTD less day i have had since playing Eve.
Side note, whats up with wrecks and salvage? I'm not training any of the skills for this for several reasons. I have all but stopped looting because loot went from 100% (even if most of it was crap) to about 30%-40%. Now wreckage occupies my screen for no reason other then taking up my overview. My corp mates have trained the needed skills to salvage and they said even thats 30%-40%. What gives CCP? If we are not ment to loot or get loot, then get rid of it altogether please. Obviously there are mass issues with rigging so why should i even bother at this point?
Sorry slightly off topic, anyway I was just wondering what this performance problem was.

I am perplexed with this performance problem. While the market is slow, all the others game functions have faster response after tuesday patch. Sunedy and monday the game was very laggi, in particular in the Minmatar regions.

i won't tell public what to do here, that's moderators work. But geez people is whining all you can do. You sound like CCP broke eve on purpose? They wanna make the game more fun and better for us. and all you do is whine what they broke. instead tell them what is broke and fill some constructive bug reports. huh...
great work CCP, keep it up you'll solve the bugs and lag sooner or later. And all new additions are great (well will be once you make them the way you wanted in first place - Bugless).

I second this fully. I know it's still buggy but so are most MMO's straight after patching, and CCP are not making us wait long for patches so must be applauded. and i like salavging now (shocking i know) makes me some good money (on average 500k-1mk isk per run, which isnt bad for me in my dreadnought)

IMHO, the issue here is money. At some point (not for a while yet), I'm going to stop paying $30.00 per month to wait in line to get on a game where I wait in line. (doh!)

I know ccp is working hard to fix the bug problems and i appreciate that fact, what i dont appreciate it switching on my computer at 12:00 to change my skill that is due to finish at 12:15 and find that there is an unscheduled downtime extension, as i resume work at 13:00 this will cost me an afternoon skilling, it may not sound like much but a little more notice would be greatly appreciated so planning skill timing can be done succesfully. OH and good luck with the bug thing! |

Good point -- happened to me too; so, I second that suggestion.

A rollback ain't gonna happen, folks. Just keep your pants on and CCP will get around to fixing things. I know it sucks, but that is the price we pay (other then our sub fee) to use a very sophisticated system as our playground. FWIW I played for a few hours last night and the game seemed to work fine. Given the reports of drone wackyness I kept my Domi in dock and stuck to trade and manufacturing. I must have made 30+ jumps in my industrial without a hiccup.
Hopefully in the next patch the camera distance changing between jumps will be fixed (can we have it maintain state between station docks too?) and the white flash will go away.

The 'breakthrough' mentioned yesterday in the MotD was the resolution of an old configuration error found during a check of the server start-up sequence. Changing and testing the fix added additional time to the patch deployment yesterday.
Coincidently, but unrelated to the breakthrough, there was a cascading node death issue that started after the patch was first deployed. Today's extended downtime and hotfixes resolved this and some other minor issues.

Thats all well n good n i hope it solved some problems but at the end of the day to be good at this game and get ahead you have to be organised and spot on with your skilling, how can this be possible if no warning is given for extended downtime, this is an easy problem to resolve just give us some notice so we can plan for these eventualities. Also i noticed no mention of compensation. |

The server failed to respond to the client's secure-handshake request within a reasonable amount of time
I've been trying to login on a couple accounts and always fail at "Acquiring bulk data" with this message appearing some minutes later.
I deleted my MachoNET contents. No go. I deleted my entire cache. No go.
Is this a new performance feature?
