There is an old canadian joke I will share with you today...
What does having sex in a canoe and american beer have in common?
They're both ******* close to water. (that will get censored out, you get the idea) ----

Though I've spent most of my time in this thread flaming people who dare talk **** about American beer... I gotta say... that's hilarious.
And the obligatory: obviously you've never had any decent american beer.
It's great playing Caldari-online, isn't it?

I like both my beer and my rum(dark) and I have a few things to say about them. America has several mid-sized national brewers that make good stuff (Sam Adams and Yuengling come to mind) and a very wide selection of microbrewery offerings. Part of the problem is the that the larger brewers tend to produce beverages that one would judge as closer to swill if they weren't so watery. The second issue is a drinking culture that very heavily focused on quantity with no regard to quality in some circles. To my non-American compatriots I would like to offer a warning. If offer some Natural Ice (aka Natty Ice or just plain Natty) it is advised that you run screaming from the room and don't stop running till you pass out from exhustion. The stuff is for all intents and purposes, fermented rat **** and is lethal to those who are not acustomed to it. In regard to rum, dark is better and Bacardi is generally smoother than Captain Morgan's (which should be mixed with coke).

you mean Oro? Tasty thing I say aswell
captain morgan's is a bit rough, but I still manage to drink it straight.
I like to savor the drink's taste without no additives, xcept ice and maybe a slice of lemon or lime.
as for the beer part, I don't contest that the beers might be good, it's just that I hate beer in general.

LMFAO this tread is UBER.
Xori, m8, I think you have slightly overreacted on this one - that American beer and space programme fatality was just a joke - nothing more.
No need to start picking up fight with everyone who mentions USA in any form.

Actually it's an old Monty Python joke (from the 'University of Wallamalloo / Philosopher's Drinking Song' sketch)... now, with apologies to Douglas Adams (who incidentally co-wrote some Python sketches) Minmatar e-war actually consists of the pilot wrapping a towel around his targetting computer. Minmatar are so mindbogglingly stupid they believe that if they can't see you, you can't see them

I fly exclusively Minmatar ships and TP arent as worthless as you make them out to be. With good skills and the right ship its easy to get close to 50% sig radius boost on any target. Combined with say torpedoes a targetpainter does a big difference.
Lets talk about ECM in general.
Sensordampers is basically a noise jammer making locking harder, a quite realistic jamming system. Target painters make your hits better as the target is "fatter" to your guidance systems, quite realistic. Tracking disruptors, allright I can accept them, they just jam the fire control sensors.
ECM jammers though, thats something I dont get. I think its implemented like a midget in a space suit who rides a small rocket to the hostile ship, hacks his way through the airlocks, runs down to the CIC and pulls all the circuitbreakers in the targeting system and then gets shot by the ships marine security detail. Thats the only real mechanic for how they work that I can come up with.

now on the the important stuff in this thread.
beer
one cannot drink foreign beer in thier own country and expect it to be good beer. transporting beer effectively ruins it.
take guiness for instance if you drink it in the US its bitter if you drink it in Ireland its smooth and silky like the nectar of the gods!!!
of course any mass produced beer in the US is watery or ****e or both as they suffer from mass production... but they have thier uses
coors light when you absolutely must drink for over 18 hours and still be sober enough to keep that stripper from cleaning out your wallet.
Budweiser for when you need a crushing headache to add to the authenticity of your morning call to work to tell them you wont be in due to illness.
and to deviate from true beer a 40 of Malt Liquor for when your just chilln wit your homies or trying to relive your college days by getting absolutely smashed on 99 cents worth of alcohol.
in the US I tend to drink yuengling, after that its dark, stout, and local. (no this is not an add for sexual encounters with midgets)

Some people just don't care for beer. I think its mostly because they haven't tried the good stuff, but I'm not going to go on a crusade about it. Tbh I have not tried Bacardi Oro yet, only Select, on which I base my opinion. Good dark rum is probably the most flavorful of all the hard liquors, with strong molasses undertones that make it unique. I definetly agree that good dark rum should be served straight or with minimal additions. The same goes for scotch, whoose smokey quality must be preserved.
Another posted mentioned problems getting cider in the US. It is not typically offered in bars, but you can find it at a decent supermarket or a specialty store.

Generally the best beer in the world are American micro brews yes. I can't even get Alesmith on the east coast :/ its depressing.

I like drinking Traquair House Ale from Scotland. I like drinking Belhaven ales (Scotland). I like drinking Rochefort and Westmalle (Trappist). I like drinking Hitichino Nest ales (Japan). Ayinger, Murphy's, St Peter's... That is just to name a FEW brewers of the 20 or so imported fine beers that I regularly enjoy from all over the world. However, I will NEVER dismiss fine American beers; and I know that it is preposterous to ever insult any nation's beers.
Westveletern (sic) is the best, its just impossible to find. Try to get your hands on some Speedway Stout.

However, when you categorically reject beer from an entire country/region, you make it clear that you are nothing but a pompous and ignorant piece of ****. You clearly need to either learn more about of what you speak, or learn some !@#$ing taste.
To be fair, most europeans don't know about American beer because it is completley impossible to get much of it in Europe. During a 4 week trip through Europe I found one single bar (In copenhagen) that had a large selection of good american beer. The delerium cafe doesnt even have alot of the good stuff.
Thats said, I am sure most Euros would be offended if people dismissed their beer as crap like Heineken or Jupiler or something like they dismiss ours as Bud or Coors.

Yuengling is complete crap. The only distinction is that it is the best beer that is usually available at a 7/11. Not a prize you really want.

Alas, tis true, british women are often of a lower standard of prettiness.(with a few VERY notable exceptions...) That said, american girls have an accent that could destroy planets its so annoying :) Clearly the solution is to move to Canada, hot women, decent standard of living, and a history of not being americans :)

This thread reminded me of something I read on a humor site a few months ago:
One of the guys
After a major beer festival in London, all the brewery presidents decide to head out together for a drink.
Corona's president sits down and says, ""Seħor, I would like the world's best beer, a Corona." The bartender takes a bottle of Corona from the fridge and gives it to him.
Then Budweiser's president says, "I would like the best beer in the world, the king of beers. Make mine a Budweiser." And the bartender, well supplied, gives him his Budweiser.
Coors' president says, "I would like the best beer in the world, the only one made with Rocky Mountain spring water. Give me a Coors." He gets it.
The head of Guinness sits down wearily and says, "Make mine a Coke."
The other brewery presidents stare at him in surprise and finally one of them asks the question: why isn't the head of the company drinking Guinness?
"Well," replies the Guinness head with a sigh, "if you guys are not drinking beer, neither will I."
