Thanks Devs for going along with making W-Space in to AIDS space. Anoikis indeed. Cell death imminent. USTZ pvpers are moving to Thera since null secs are guaranteed there. nice nice nice. |

im just going to copy paste what i wrong on the c13 thread to save time.
im really disappointed with how wormholers have reacted to thera and frig holes since the hyperion update. We all live in wspace and very few corps have even taken the time to come up with frig doctrines to deal with frig holes. I mean really... how hard is it to get some frig logi and dps frigs and go pvp with a frig doctrine? You realize you can totally kill ppl with a good frig doctrine right?
NOW TO BE FAIR: frig holes are pretty annoying at times because we go in to someones home with frigs they drop t3s and when we jump back they come through with frigs and WE drop t3s (if they even come at all)..... doesn't work. This is really more a player issue anyway. But here at r3d fire we have adopted the "whatever fuk it" policy and just... fight t3s with enyos anyway. If we take one mentally challenged loki to hell with us... gg.
The other thing is thera. So much complaining for a wormhole meta that is very unique in new eden. Lots of null roaming, and communities formed there and apparently we are too good for it? <.< If you guys are so furious with how our null connections got cut, ever consider going on eve scout and connecting your chain to thera via close kspaces? adapt or die. You are usually always less than 10j from thera. like right now r3d fire is 4j from thera and we have it marked on siggy how to get there.
as far as c13s, no it doesn't appeal to us high class dwellers. But it is REALLY appealing to others. particularly the very quiet nomadic wormholers. I have some of them mailing me asking for entrances to c13s. i find and lead them in when i find a good one. Also i dont buy the "oh its just for farming so it should be deleted". LOL ever heard of c6 space?
Things that are actually totally screwed up: 1. why are there ice belts in frig wormhole systems? did nobody at ccp even think this through? 2. c13 pvp is instapop vs instapop.. ugh forget it.
Things that wormholers need to adapt to: 1. fly some damn (not t3 dessie) frig doctrines. you might actually have fun *gasp* 2. would it kill you to solo slicer roam out of the frig null? no. maybe a little cruor + succ roam? idk ffs have fun! jesus....

To answer your question on the frig holes - I am one of the few in my corp that likes frig holes. That means we can't do much with them because of the current cruiser meta. It isn't a problem with the hole so much as with the meta and the culture. I'd like to do more AF's and destroyers but you know how people are. Cruisers project damage much better than anything save maybe the harpy. And the harpy meta is stale.
The null connections got cut for no good reason. There was no play testing and no dev commentary. Simply put it went too far. C13/C16 are all well and good for what they are. Honestly the connections to them from W-space are too few for me to make regular use of. If C5/6 had C13/c16 dual statics maybe it would be different.
Frig doctrines are fun and I've used em in low sec, high and null in the last 10+ years of play. However the WH nerf was without good cause and people can say I'm crying about it or whatever but they don't have a cogent argument for it other than to make their carriers safer when NPCing.
C5 > Null advantage was primarily mass driven. we could surprise drop a dread on people who otherwise thought they were safe behind cyno jams. And a dread appearing without a cyno is a big surprise most of the time. Also it let us put out rather large T3 or even moderate BS fleets from time to time.
The answer is not to downgrade our home hole to a C3/2/1 with a static null. That is just out of the question. We do use thera as a connection some times. Other times it isn't any more convenient than rolling our current chain.
Also there is the problem of those who do not log in except via jabber pings. You all know those people who won't go more than 10 jumps for anything short of a capital or super kill. If I thought I could break that attitude then I would. But I can't. So any null exit more than 4 or 5 WH transitions away from the home hole is seen as distant. This is especially true when roaming with 3-5 guys and you need reinforcements. |

tbh it sounds like 50% of the problem is the people.
They probably were too harsh in their nerfing, but I doubt they'll do anything regardless of how loud everyone complains.
Legit question, how often did you drop a dread right into the system your null hole let out in versus cyno-ing to a system next door to a jammed system and taking gates, or taking gates all together?

Ok, so, just looking for some feedback here:
I know CCP said they would "slightly" nerf C5<>Nullsec holes, but they never said what that meant in terms of numbers.
So, just curious, how has it turned out to be in reality? Is it a significant nerf, or are people just crying?
Could someone give me an example of typical before and after nerf Null hole rates that they have observed? |

So, an odd occurrence to report but today one of my corp mates had a c5<>null despawn in front of him (not eol and wasn't massed) and immediately a new sig popped up that was another null but as soon as he tried to jump it collapsed again this happened a couple more times before he abandoned that system. Has anyone had a similar experience? |

So I went to get a new pair of glasses since my current pair is pretty jankety (actual word used by the optometrist) and they called me today at 4:00 to let me know they were finished. Turns out they close at 4:30 on Fridays and don't open again till Monday.
If only I'd had a decent null connection I could have easily reached their office to pick up my new specs with time left over to grab some Chipotle.
Thanks a lot CCP. |
