Anthar Thebess wrote:You can quite easy overcome burner frigates. People are dropping tons of alts on them . For example when you use 4 T2 fitted T1 ( yes T1 frigates) you can kill many burner rats in less than 10 seconds. You can simply alpha them from field.
Burner missions where designed for 1 vs 1 , but are totally broken when you bring alts.
My record is killing a burner in alpha shoot ( so no need for 3 cycles) as i max damage from all alts.
but then you are paying 4x subs. and for the amount of time you burn in warp, I'm not sure you are gaining all that much.

The Burners are indeed cheating, at least to a degree. If you put some time into EFT for the daredevil, you can come up with something that has very nearly the stats of the one listed by churker.

@OP your complaint is in so far correct, as that the agent did not give you sufficient information. But this is EvE. EvE is not fair. Unfortunately, or so ... Trust Nobody and Nothing, especially not CCP. They are evil cheating bastards that are out to get us all ...
But your agent also warned you to be extremely cautious. In my book that does not entail bringing a t2 fitted Hawk with t1 rigs and hoping for the best :)
I am still bringing depots, legal boosters, stabs and emergency tank fits on my burner missions. Until I found a reliable and efficient strategy for the Ashimmu and Dramiel Bases, I overtanked and had an alt with a throw away griffin in system as well.
The Pirate burners might be doable with t2 fits... but the efficiency of that in terms of potential losses and time spent is probably horrible. Bling can be used to make these reliable and relative safe experiences unless the pilot foobars or the server hickups.

I believe Talsha is showing what the burner brings to the table. |

My bad for posting a lot of stuff in a hurry ;)
Indeed I tried to quickly recreate a fitting that is close to the burner stats according to churker. Of course the burner still cheats with the weapon range and some other variables. But still the fitting you can get, if you go to the extremes is still pretty close to the actual NPC.
I fly most of my burner missions solo without alts. I use them though when they are subbed and if I am testing fits or trying out new content on tranquillity. I also use my off-grid booster, when she is the one that pulled the mission.
The only Burner that gives me real trouble is the Cruor. I have lost a few ships to him. The only relatively safe option I found so far is a Jaguar, which is very slow as well. But I assume that I simply need to practise cap management on the injected brawling builds that are suggested or kiting ;) I did not get the Serpentis Base with the 3 Talos yet.
I love the Burners :) |

Ditto, but the only "trouble" was getting bored and forgetting I was overloading my guns
the solution to that is wait till the burner gets under 50% armor and then overload as your guns should last long enough that you kill it before they burn out.
I use the wolf fit from the burner thread. usually burn through 4-5 cap boosters. Wait till around 70% armor, cap boost, and overload the rep, can usually cap inject and start the rep on the same tick. Usually goes back up to 100% If my armor drops below 60% or so, overload the cap injector too just to be sure. The natural resists on the wolf are very nice, and the only bling is a deadspace rep.
I've also been playing with orbits and manual piloting as it seems that reducing transversal is the best way to get it down fast. And might be worth a shot trying out hail ammo.

Drugs are pretty cheap around 2mil/hour, I was thinking about trying them out sometime. there is of course the question of how much do the side effects hurt? Also not sure how much they would benefit most ships. Assuming you are running burners you are switching between a few ships, so how does the bonus and penalty affect each ship?

Strong X-Instinct Drop I did notice the rat seemed to rep very slowly. Perhaps it was suffering from the Standard Drop booster side effect which reduces repair amount?
Pirate ship Nightmare, can you fathom
Larger but with smaller spikes than Phantasm
The Succubus looks meaner
But the Revenant cleaner
Seems as they get bigger, the smaller spikes they has'm
