Today [7th August 2015] I logged on to try to continue the plexing effort on Ezzara.
I saw Ezzara was at ~75% and presumed all was going well but we had no fleet advert up. I entered the system to check what the situation was, it was bleak, 13 Minmatar and only me in local for the Amarr. After some chatting in the formup channels and posting a fleet we got a handful of pilots together and went to see what we could get done.
Towards the end when we were running low on ships I resorted to taking out a talwar fleet [4 man >.>, our numbers dwindled somewhat] which made me feel dirty but was effective getting us a bunch more kills. Neither side bringing logi made it so much more like old school FW where both sides suffered losses in every engagement.
2/3 hours later and easily over 100 kills later Ezzara was still ~75%. Many explosions were witnessed, a lot of amusing banter in local occured, much fun was had my all. Low kills compared to Cal/Gal warzone battles but for ours was most intense fighting I've seen over a backwater system. Good stuff.
Cheers to the Minmatar for coming back again and again keeping the morning fun and full of Pew Pew and of course cheers to all the amarr bros who came to my fleet to make it happen.

Yeh counting all the time for the system flip it was quiet for most of it but it had a few good bursts of action like yesterday morning in the few hours leading to downtime. As I said baby cakes compared to calgal fights |

Varrinox, when you were at the large in the prophecy, in Ezzara you killed the person who was the FC, so I took over, and it was the best fight I have ever been in. I am pretty new, but I was determined to hold the grid no matter the cost, and my fleet kept reshipping and coming back. I almost bailed when that neutral cane came in, but we stayed.
We just kept getting good fights all night with you and the Amarr, and I have to say, I am appreciative the content, and I am sure everyone in that fleet was too. I got lots of it on Shadowplay, but since some of the fights went on for more than 20 minutes, I didn't get it all, maybe I will edit it a bit, and put it on youtube, as a reminder for how FW should be. |

Aye that was a great fight, it would have gone on longer if I hadn't ran out of cap boosters lol. Props to you for stepping up when the FC died. Omitting to such a slug fest as an FC takes balls, when the opportunity comes I enjoy those types of fights they are a rare occurrence now days.
Be sure to post the video footage here, I look foward to watching how your end was :)

I am curious though. Whats the story behind amarr losing momentum and on top of that, where did the minmatar steamroller come from?
Not been watching the other warzone so was quite surprised to see the amarr losing so much so quickly.

MCF1B more or less propped up Amarr Mil for a long time.
Once they left the Amarr seemed to reorganise and even launch a counter offensive.
From what I can see the Minmatar have done a little restructuring of their own and have improved their doctrines, especially in the AU timezone.
Amarr Mil lost a x5 Guardian supported HAC and faction cruiser fleet to a slightly larger T1 cruiser with T1 Logi Minmatar fleet two nights ago.
The Amarr still hold their core fortress systems for now so they are still in the fight especially as they have better ties to some neutrals.
Really this will turn into an end game, will a demoralised Amarr Mil get steamrollered by Mini Mil who have a goal to fight for (medal) or will Mini Mil crash into the brick wall that is the Amarr home systems and burnout. |

Im curious about that too. Everything stopped after Huola. As for the minmatar steamroller, please, there is no such thing. They tryed to go for Arzad and failed miserably. All they took was unsettled or under maned systems. I guess people just got bored of dplexing so much space. Maybe the Amar championship also had something to do with it, i dont know |

No disrespect for the pyre bros but for the most part they didnt do much for the rest of amar militia. They did their thing up north and props to them for holding their ground on their own. To say that they "propped up for a long time" the whole militia is just not true, at least not in this cycle.
My perspective comes from having been a Mini Mil commander at the time. The only Amarr Mill group that would consistently beat us were MCF1B. I lost count of the number of Hub attacks they defeated. It's probably true to say we did not beat them in 1 single cruiser sized engagement. It got to a point where some people were refusing to form up if MCF1B were online.
Plexing wise Neos were heros for Amarr Mil, there were also frequent skirmishes with Terp. DnG had mixed effect as they were absent for a lot of the time I was active in recent Min Mil same with Calibrated Chaos.
As far as steamroller goes I'm losing track of how many hubs, pocos and pos' of Amarr Mil they have killed recently. |

So.
Amarr are where they currently are because the driving force behind the latest push, Ody -exec of Calibrated Chaos, started college and has less free time to burn on eve. Myself the the few other militia fleet FCs stopped running fleets regularly.
Very little to do with minmatars breaking our will as I have heard. I will tip my hat to the Minnie's for their persistence though.
As for PYRE, the way one of their members mentioned themselves is indicative of their view. They are better than everyone else, so they think. They are decent pilots but nothing stellar. It's not hard to win lots of militia fights when you constantly use links and higher end ships. They were very self centred and for the most part refused to fly with rest of militia when they were part of amarr, quite a lot of the active EU timezone English speakers joined them. The few of the FCs I had interactions with struck me as egotistical and average at best. Using simple doctrines others came up with not innovating in fitting or tactics.
That being said they were good at what they did and **** stomped Minnie militia fleets regularly, but militia fleets are an easy target and should be no measure of competency of an established etantity like PYRE, just target practice.
There is something about FCing that makes a lot of people **** heads, I suspect a lot of them are aligned to that before but it amplifies that.
Alas wall of text summary Minnie's are kinda bad, just dedicated PYRE are nothing special, just lots of ISK and SP

Again, I'm referring to a time when I was not even in PY-RE and spent a load of time trying to fight them. Any opinion you have in their time in Amarr Mil is likewise your business. |

Cheers var, makes sense. Might seem silly considering how people view cal mil but pyre left a pivotal role in amarrmil to become a third tier entity in calmil.
Well, good luck to minmatar on their medal push!
