There was before this 3 Impocs in existance. Of the two left one is owned (or shall we say stolen) by Istavaan, and one owned by Phelean of Under the Wings of Fury (Atrocitas Alliance)

LeMonde was scrambling the two biggest ships on each time during all the fights. This way, in the event of a crash, the ships would stay in place so that the pilots could log back on and not be totally screwed.

I'm just curious as to why IAC didn't pay the ransom. Lack of cash maybe? Or some other reason?

As was mentioned on the chat going on during the fight, even if they paid the ransom, there was no way that they could have known if the enemies would have blown the ship up anyway.

Only a 15billion ISK ransom to save a ship that's worth 50-75billion?
I think that ransom was not going to be honored, I think it'd have been more of an 'oops, sorry we tried to stop firing, really."

it would not have been used otherwise :P
this was the perfect setting for it, although i too am a little sad it was used as a glorified nos boat instead of the shining example of laser power that it deserved.
in the end, respect for bringing it and for accepting its fate.
cheers!

Congratulations really need to go to Cult of War team (ookke, Palx, DaddyMassive and Solovej) flying a Dominix, Ishtar, Absolution and retribution who took out IAC's 'Unbeatable' lineup headed by the Imperial Apoc without loosing a single ship. They really proved that you really shouldn't underestimate the 'little guy' no matter who you are or how expensive a ship you fly.
It was a real shame they went out in the Semis, they were just out damped by 'The R0NIN' who I guess were in trun out-damped by BoB. -----

They are honorable and will do what they say they will. Very rarely do any members smack, usually only if "smacked" first. Top notch guys that team is, they will be back to A-WAR in a day or two Much respect and love from me to them.
Good show and well done lads. Welcome home.

phelean personally told me he had 1 and paid 18bil for it, so who has it??

So if we had liek ganked it with 50 man gatecamp we should brag but killing it on a very strict rules point system tournament we shouldn't brag too much... some people...
and as to the guy who said we would have blown it up anyway... No we wouldnt. If the price had been met the ship would have survived but the counteroffer was 2.5 bill and well... thats peanuts
Also before saying things like that for people who have pvped for the past 2 years on a number of alliance wars and never been accused of dishonesty by any opponent whatsoever afaik is a bit cheap. I guess your daily experience is 1.0 n00b can baiting etc but thats not the environment in which we play this game.
My great respect to TT. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

There were 4 Imp Apocs given out to the winners off the Amarr Championship, these were Kileak, Grikl, Ecliptical and Black Viper.
Grikl's Imp Apoc was the first to go boom, when he used it to fight in during the Stain-Curse war.
Ecliptical's Went boom Yesterday, after he sold it and then it was sold onto Tyraxx.
Kileak's Account still owns his but his account is banned, so that Imp Apoc is lost forever also.
Black Viper is the only remaining Owner of an Imp Apoc or atleast that is how i understand it to be. -------------------------------------- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/mole12/Mole-sig.jpg Please ensure your signature is 24,000 bytes or less - Udat |

To any and all those who say it was dumb, silly, etc. to fly the Impoc in combat (much less the tourney) I say thus: You are a fool.
Now why do I call you detractors fools? Because you seem to forget the game we are playing. It is called Eve. A game with a massive history that very, very much player driven from story-line to raw source code.
So what does one do if they happen to have one of these unique ships? Well there are only a few options:
- Fly the Ship and risk it's destruction (this is Eve after all) - Hanger the Ship (so only you and your friends can see it) - Sell the ship (get others get involved with the ship _and_ let it be their problem)
I believe the first and last options are the best for Eve as they add a nice history and story to the game.
Finally, I don't think anybody who has one of these unique ships should sell any more to Tyraxx since he's shown that he's not good at keeping them in one piece.

GG
I thought the Gold Magnate solidified that place. There was only one of those, so he'll forever be famous as the only player to lose one.
PS - Tyrrax, how much did Istvaan pressure you to use it so his could shoot up in value 1 billion fold?

I dont beleave so, seems Black Viper told me 2 days ago that he still had his, its sitting in stain where they were all moved to just after they were won.
If istvaan has one where did he get it from? who did he steal it from? and where did the person he stole it from get it?
Also the one that was used as a prize for Big's Lottery was given to them by CCP and then taken back out of the game via a Pie event, afaik. -------------------------------------- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/mole12/Mole-sig.jpg Please ensure your signature is 24,000 bytes or less - Udat |
