Hey peeps,
As you can see, Im a new character and currently training some combat skills as advised by a friend.
Could you recommend what there is to do with mediocre skills?
Ive dabbled with security missions but doesnt seem as fun as I thought it might be and mining does not interest me at all. I prefer to be engaged in the game that I play rather than being almost AFK scrolling through YouTube.
Any ideas are welcome <3
Much appreciated :) |

Ive watched alot of videos regarding Null sec and it interests me alot but ive been told that It would not be worth my time going to null sec without >10m SP, Is this true?
If not, could you recommend any newbie friendly corps that I could look into?

Ignore this person. Or, better yet, smack them. Don't get me wrong, SP opens doors for you, but it doesn't take much SP to try something out in some capacity, you're not going to be doing it at peak efficiency, but you can start, learn, and contribute.
There are a few different large groups in Nullsec actively recruiting and teaching newbies (as far as I understand anyway). Brave Newbies have relocated to lowsec, so I'm unsure if they're still active in 0.0, but they're whole schtick revolves around helping newbies. Karmafleet I've heard good things about and have enjoyed a few of the lectures they've recorded and posted on youtube. I'm sure there are less known organizations that are newbie friendly as well, a bit of poking around on the forums and in game and you should find one. If the one you end up in isn't to your liking, don't be afraid to drop them and find another group.

Here is a decent skill plan that will get you ready to try different combat roles, PVE and PVP. It's just a base to work from, but it can help if you're feeling a bit lost. Do read the introduction as well.

Deviate to taste. I followed it loosely my first couple months and can recommend it from experience.

Look at:
Karmafleet Pandemic Horde Dreddit Brave newbies
These are all null/low sec pvp corps dedicated to helping newbros.
Eve Uni is an all encompassing corp which teaches newbros various aspects of eve, might be worth a look.

Null Sec rats are pretty tough and you don't like mining. Not sure how you will generate ISK for ships. You might find Blockade running (remember they can covert jump) and trading quite fun. Also ask what ever group you join what Plantary Interaction items they need (check that on Youtube) it is a pretty passive income and with the above Blockade runner rather safe.

you can easily get a tackle, or with the new fleet warp changes coming, train to be a scout or warp to very easily with >10m
anyone who tells you you can not pvp or join in the wars of the bigger alliances with less then 10m sp's is lying to you.

From former training newbs, it depends on the corp. There are leet pvp corps and need lots of ap to be high dps potential, but early pvp support roles are quite sp friendly while being very potent. Only drawback is support skills less functional for solo.
In days of blob sov, this was overlooked but now is underrated. Other than that, everything is open to get started in without much isue. What interests, you? |

I'm a little over 1mil now, but what I did prior to having 1mil sp was a combination of career agents, sisters of eve epic missions, exploring wormholes, and learning the delicate art of "what not to do when you got to the other side of a hole and there are sivpuls less than 5km away." If you are looking for pvp, the other posters here have made great suggestions. If not, have a stop by the EvE-Scout channel in-game. We're always welcoming of newbies and will gladly teach you how to thrive exploring with little sp. |

Boldly go forth and shoot other players.
This is the best time to do it. You will lose ships, but since the only ones you can fly are dirt cheap, it's no biggie.
Learn PVP through experience while the leaning is relatively inexpensive. Then as you acquire more SP for more expensive ships, you will have the skills to use them instead of just the SP to sit in them.

Well, i hate salvaging. I'd love having a new player following me around salvaging all my wrecks. Even just looting my wrecks for me. . . for US would be nice. Maybe hop into an industrial and haul jettisoned ore from the belts to station.
I think it'd be great if someone would hop into a damn t1 frigate and TACKLE these stupid kiters who keep getting away.
There are definitely a couple ways you can contribute. |

Thanks for all the replies guys and girls!
I think the plan for me at the moment is to do some of the Epic Arc missions as apparently they are fun and I havnt done them yet and once I can fly atleast a cruiser decently I might try and find a corp in null sec to rat with :)
All your advice is much appreciated <3 Hope to see you all ingame! o/ |

Fly safe, best of luck and always remember, eve is a harsh place. The Ruthlessness is counterbalanced by probably the best supporting players in any MMO. If stuff happens, get mad, swear, whatever, but dont rage quit. Hop on help channel or forums, say what happened and ask for feedback on how to improve if ya need it. Eve is emotional. With threat of permanent loss, it is full of highs and lows. That rollercoaster is what makes this game more intense than any other out there. |

SOE Epic Arc is achievable at 1 mill SP.
The others not so much. Look them up on EVE survival.
One suggestion. Rather than racing up the ship sizes (people do crazy stuff like fly Battleships with medium guns fitted cos they do not have BS gun skills and " a bigger ship has gotta be better" - and no it is not if you do not have the matching other skills) take a racial frigate to level 5 and then train into some of the T2 frigates like covops, interceptors. Assault Frigates, Bombers etc ... |
