Hello all just a hopefully quick question. I have a month long training que so im gonna hop in a helios and go explore for a while. Am I right in thinking that all loot drops from relic and data sites are random and have no relevance to the sec status of space? Or is it lower sec=better loot? Thank you in advance |

High/lowsec loot from data/relic sites is generally crap. If you want to do data/relic sites for ISK you have to go to null or C1-3 WH's. The pirate sites in C1-3 WH's have no sleepers in them and are named Sansha this and Angel that etc, and drop nullsec loot. |

Is there npc Stations to dock in null? Or is it all player owned? Do i need to get permission to dock? |

NPC stations in null are dockable, those however are only in select regions and most null space is player owned. Syndicate, Curse, Great Wildlands etc. are NPC null. There's an option in the map to show who owns (sovereignty) each individual system (lights up with different colours), so you should look into that.
There are also some freeports IIRC, but can't remember where exactly. It is also possible to get a docking permission to a player owned station. |

Probably the best way to do Null Sec Hacking sites is to first look for a W-hole leading from High Sec going to Null Sec. Then bookmark the location in Null Sec and then start scanning for Hacking Sites, run them and then use the W-hole to go back to High Sec and unload your loot.

Relic sites in Sansha nullsec space (Stain, Esoteria, Paragon Soul, Catch, Providence) is the optimal setup for making ISK as a non-combat explorer. The good cans (red core) are significantly harder to hack, so you may practice first in lowsec with the yellow cans. Also beware of the hunters and bubble camps.

Cool so i either base from an npc station or find a wormhole, is it a special type of wh to scan down or just random? |

But a base in Thera is probably best atm for exploration (and everything else ), check out https://www.eve-scout.com. If you want to get deeper into the exploration profession, Signal Cartel maybe a place for you.

thera is a very nice spot to base out of, although might have some competition that way. not sure how many explorers base out of there.
I've found a few low -> null WHs, and a few low (maybe it was high?) -> w-space -> null chains. granted my sample size is like 4. That and you never know where you will end up, or if you will be able to get home.

At the mo isk per hour isnt too important, im kinda closing my eyes and pretend cking a random destination and scanning along the way lol. Im kinda a space tourist I guess. Thinkin of setting a jump clone in dodixie and one in or near null to go between missions and exploring |

Well, it may take a little while to find a w-hole that leads from high sec to null sec but they do exist. Just something to remember while you're doing exploration.

A few areas of null-sec such as Providence are NRDS (not red don't shoot). You can operate there without the locals shooting you as long as you (or your corp or alliance) haven't done anything to get on the KOS (kill on sight) list. You can use the stations there - usually a docking fee applies to neutrals.

On a side note: The best mind set to have for something like this is to enjoy being lost and embrace the randomness. If you make use of WH for your travels (and that makes really good sense) then you can't rush anything or set a specific destination. You find a WH, enter it, start mapping it out finding the different WH connection and then pick one. If it's one to 0.0 chances are it'll lead to quite empty 0.0 system/area because that's what most of 0.0 is. And if it's quite busy then you jump back into your WH and find another exit. So rather than saying "I'm going to do exploration in [insert region]" you're probably best off to say "I'm going to do exploration.... by exploring".
Also, I'd urge you to not do data and relic both at the same time, especially not because one of them takes up a whole lot of cargo room (shortening your sorties). You're probably best off to focus on Relics and fully fit for those. |

Good payout (on average) and the items are small meaning you can stay out longer before you're forced back to high sec because you ran out of cargo space. |

Like Tiberius said if you are enjoying exploring then keep exploring. Again back to what he said you have to make peace with playing in the moment and not having a plan and just seeing where the sigs take you.
If you can get comfortable with jumping from wormhole to wormhole knowing that if you keep scanning you will eventually find a hole that leads close enough to home then you will do well. To make good isk at exploring you have to get away from where everyone is and get out to systems that have not been scanned already by 5 players in the past hour. Of course to make isk you'll eventually have to get that loot back to high sec. |

I also stick to just the relics. Get into exploring in wormholes too. Direct to null ones, and any leading to a C1, C2 or C3. Make sure in the wormhole spaces that they are pirate named, they are equal to running null sites. Can be some real good payout

if you are going to be doing exploration in null and basing your operations out of an npc null station - then you should probably join a corp that lives in that area. While such stations are npc and free to dock - there are usually dominate corps that live in and control the area. When I used to live in npc null, we used to sit on the station and blow up any non-alliance explorers with insta locking nados - it was great fun - for us anyway
