You will only receive what ever collateral you had set on a failed contract.

You will not be able to recover your lost items.

nothing is lost and the person who accepted was in my corp, they never lost nor got attacked, stolen, basically nothing, the person also said they checked and nothing is up on their side. |

so i lost all my items even though they were not lost, stolen or hi-jacked. wow can this game get any great. the contract was cancelled like within safe zone, and the person has never stolen it. |

someone has to have the items, i suspect your friend is lying about having them, unless they're in someone's deliveries hangar like the second screenshot suggests. failing a contract doesn't just make the items disappear, unless they were blown up or trashed. |

the person should still have the items in the plastic wrap, they can just give them back to you. if they say they don't have them they are either clueless, or playing dumb and stealing from you. (my money is on the stealing bit)
the contract sticks in your contract history, and as far as the system is concerned is a finished contract. looks like if they fail it the collateral automatically goes to you. If they just don't deliver it I think you can either give them extra time to deliver it, or can fail it and get the collateral.

When you accept a courrier contract, you get a plastic wrap with all the stuff in it. Failing a contract simply means that the contract itself is over, and the wrap can no longer be handed in. The stuff IN the wrap is still out there somewhere, as he got it as soon as it was accepted.
The only thing I can think of is that he accidently opened the wrap and the junk in it is now lieing around somewhere. Have him do an asset search on 'plastic wrap', that might give the location away. A good place to look is in random ships that might have carried the cargo, wouldn't be the first time I misplaced a wrap somewhere when you have 20-30 of them all needing delivery to some place or another.

It's not stupid if the theft has caused you - in however small amount - tears and frustration, if those responses are delicacies to your corpmate's twisted souls. Yes, it's just nooblet stuff in the contract, but remember that this is EVE - sandbox, remember? It could be quite a tempting thing to do, should one be so inclined
On the other hand, it could just be a glitch - petition it, as others have said

Seems strange.
Even for a failed contract it's possible to still deliver the package as normal (the courier doesn't receive any reward though).
So if you are saying the package was delivered but has disappeared into the aether and you trust that is true, then raise a support ticket.
Otherwise if the time expired, just get your corpmate to deliver the package and transfer ISK to them if there was any reward involved.

The only Option I can see is if you Filed a support ticket to have a GM look into if perhaps items have went into the void.

Collateral should always be of at least the value the items are - usually a bit higher. The Collateral is you insurance against what happened to you. If a contract goes into the "failed" status, you get the collateral. Thats now the contract works.
A Contract is an agreement. You agreed to hand over the items for them to be delivered to your desired location. You Agreed to pay 0 ISK for that service and you agreed to receive 0 ISK in case something goes wrong.
I can tell you one thing: You won't get anything back if your contractual partner doesn't actually want to give it back, regardless of the reason he doesn't give it back (be it he thinks he lost it, he actually lost it, or hes stealing from you - doesn't matter.).
You agreed to receive 0 ISK in case something goes wrong and you got what you agreed upon.
Next time try to add a collateral the size of at least the value of the items you want moved - preferably 5-10% more. |
