Handing over customer contact information to an US company. Yay!
US laws ftw: Harris Interactive is allowed to do whatever they want with the information they collect regardless of the contract ccp did strike with them. The invitation to the poll comes from Harris Interactive and the customers hand out the information based on that invitation.
I just hope ccp got a good amount of USD out of that stunt.
Happy holiday season, your input has just been sold. --*=*=*--

I still have not gotten mine.
I like the middle ground - without changing the current status.
I don't want dumbing down - in fact the opposite, but I would like to note that the current region boundaries to places like BoB have lots of choke spots to allow defense of 0.0 from the Empire player base.
Chokespots are bad if they prevent true turf warfare across broad areas. This is my uneducated by 0.0 viewing as I eye those holes to riches I only get to hear about.
Timezones are the enemy too - can't fight and sleep. Every time I see a post from MC about how they have to lose sleep to be effective, I feel sad for them. I am exaggerating a bit - I suppose they could just fight 1 hour a day and strike FEAR into most of us.

US Eve player for over 3 years now, I haven't gotten my survey. Are they going out in staggered waves through the 4th? That is what the original post suggests, but I, and I think others, would genuinely appreciate it if that was officially verified by Kieron or others. I am actually very eager to participate in this survey, so I hope mine arrives soon and they don't overlook me. Cheers! *

I don't know about anyone else, but when I did the survey, most of the questions were about demographics, like sex, race, income level -- stuff that doesn't have any bearing on the game itself. Most of the game-related questions were about whether you play console or MMOG games, which ones you'd heard of or played, and how many hours you play. There weren't any questions that related specifically to EVE gameplay, customer satisfaction, features desired, etc. Overall, it seemed a pretty worthless set of questions for anyone but the sales department.

must have been worth every penny they recieved from our contact details
btw, it was done by CCP`s marketing, confirmed by a gm still waiting for a frigging reply

Thank you VERY much for posting this; MUCH needed information. I would like to be able to say that I am surprised that CCP shows no interest in customer feedback or satisfaction in the survey; unfortunately I can't. I am forced to say "Same'ol, Same'ol" and "How typical of them." I have to admit that I was a sap and a dupe all over again. I fell for it. I thought this might be a glimmer of hope in the LONG history of disappointing customer service for CCP. Oh well. Wake me when a REAL survey comes along because I will NOT be participating in this one. If my information has been sold to another company simply for the purpose of drumming up new revenue for CCP and its subsidiaries, this is just another in a long line of disappointments from CCP customer service for me, and I am sure others as well......

Yep, mine was the same.
Actually, about the only EVE related questions on the survey was if I had ever heard of the game and played it. Of course it also asked if I had heard of about 2 dozen other games at the same time. One of those check all that apply kinda things. Then went onto what my age, race, marital status, income, ect.
Really got annoying when they had multiple questions about my income and where it compared to the national average.
Kieron, 1. What is your age? 2. What is your sex?
3. Are you married? 4. Are you straight or ghey? 5. How does you income level compare to the nation average? Lower? About the same? Above average? Godly?
6. What is your race? White? Black? Asian? Hispanic? other?
7. Have your ever heard of EVE-Online?
8. How much money do you make? 1-10,000, 10,001-50,000, 50,001-75,000, ect.
I think you get the idea. I dont mind answering a survey for the most part. I think this one could have been handled a bit better.
Oh and btw they never asked me how I heard of EVE. I found the game C.D. in the bargain bin for $9.95 at Best Buy. This was back on September 11th 2003. I have never seen or heard of it anywhere since then.
No one can hear you scream in space, so just shut up and die already. |

I guess what bothers me is the EVE news item specifically made it sound as if there would be game-related feedback questions, which clearly there were not. As such, it seems as though folks were lied to just to get us to fill out the silly thing.
That probably wasn't the intent. Most likely the people posting the news were misled as well, but the end result is the same either way.

Yeah, just break their own EULA there. State that they will keep it confidential and then just sell everyones email address to another company. I have got to change my email address again.
What about it kieron? EULA might not be law, but CCP wants us to agree to it, then just set it aside for a profit. Even though Agreement in EULA is similar to Contract. And I know I will be flamed for this statement again.

There are two days left in which to respond to the survey if you received an e-mail from the survey company. To those that have already participated, thank you very much for your support.
For those worried about receiving future mail from Harris Interactive or other companies as a result of the survey, CCP entered into the agreement with HI that the mail list we provided would not be used for any other/future surveys or distributed further.

I hereby request a copy of that agreement to be sent to my email, OR, still the removal out of Harris Interactive Inc. database.
still no excuse to give out X amount of user emails to a 3rd unauthorized company (as stated in ur own eula) wich is a data farmer.
So when is all of our info being handed to some data farmer? i`ll bet they`ll make what ever agreement u want...
oh, but u won`t, what`s the difference then with now???
suggest u do the mailing in house with linking to their survey next time ffs
edit: can`t spell, as usual...

I have not received a mail for either of my accounts. I have been watching the filtered mail very closely since this survey was announced. I live in the US and have been a subscriber continuously since beta 7. i could possibly see just receiving one mail, or only receiving one for one account as a mere oversight. But this is starting to really annoy me. --- The old man. |

I have just sent the fifteen players chosen at random for participation in the survey an e-mail asking for their mailing addresses so the prizes may be sent to them.
If you received an e-mail from me, please respond within the next two weeks. If you do not respond within that time frame, alternates will be contacted.
