I, Dr. Quattras Peione, have in the past made public statements and taken equally public action in defiance of the Holy Amarr Empire, culminating in my firing upon TES Seraph in an act of rebellion.
I make no defense for my actions. I blamed the deeds of a personal enemy upon the Empire which he called home, and acted out of spite. I was wrong, and in doing so made of myself an enemy of the Empire and of God and His children. With the passing of the Empress Jamyl Sarum I, I came to realize the grievous error of my ways. Whilst I may hold to a liberal interpretation of the Faith, I do fear the Lord and have sinned in His eyes.
I ask the forgiveness of the Empire and its representatives, and will be relocating to the Empire to study at Ardishapur Family Academy, that I may learn how better to serve the God whom I have come to know and venerate.
To my friends within the Republic, know that I still wholly support those libertarian ideals which I have espoused, and hold firm my belief that the sovereignty of all peoples is conciliable with non-ethnic indentured servitude as set forth in Holy Writ.
May He illuminate my path, that I may walk in the Light of His word.

I understand your skepticism, pilot Vollhov.
I had been struggling with feelings of guilt over my actions for some time. It was less the Empress' death, and more the distasteful celebration amongst Her enemies, that was, as they say, the strike that broke the slaver-hound's will.
Regardless of what caused it, I am here. The repentance of a wayward soul is cause for rejoicing, no matter how they come to walk the path of the righteous.

In Caldari culture and in wayism in particular it is usual to respect other religions, deities and ceremonies, and it is considered rather taboo to insult Holiness of other confessions.
And do you know why? Because spirits have longer memories than humans and it is way harder to get forgiveness of a spirit.
Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

I remember that when Republic PM Karin Midular died (who I'm sure people will recall was the subject of a bounty from U'K), I was accused of being disrespectful by many Republicans simply because I suggested that there should be an investigation.
If what I did was disrespectful, then the actions of Shakorites like Toov is truly beyond the pale.
And they wonder why we consider them to be uncivilised barbarians.

It's a curious thing how some pilots who previously were ambivalent or actively hostile to Imperial interests are now experiencing overnight conversions. Of course, I am an outside observer, and so don't understand the workings of the, ah, crisis of faith that is compelling this in some cases. Oh well. Time will tell.

Do not take the ignorant and loud as representative of an entire nation. The Sanmatar himself had the good sense and decency to not join in with these celebrators. ..And there were those within the Empire who celebrated the death of the Ray of Matar.
Ignorance and hate is on both sides of the border and it is better to ignore it when it comes than to try and answer every loudmouth. They hurt only themselves and celebrate only tragedy for the entirety of New Eden. Enjoy that they point themselves out so you can avoid them later. |

To Qualtras, I am happy for thee to see that you have taken the first step towards the light in that you realize you are in darkness.
The next step is to actually take a step towards it. Or more simply put take action. As such, I urge thee to not hide away to study in cloister. Find your penance in actively working for the greater good.
Step forward into the light and let thyself be the agent of the Lord's will.

Pilot Toov, I do not begrudge you your feelings on the matter. Your people have suffered under the Ammar. I know that you and many of your people would seek the utter destruction of the Amarr as retribution rather than seek mutually amicable relations. And while you will never cede this point, nor would I in your position, I must point out that neither power will ever destroy the other in its entirety, and diplomacy is the only road to peace. The celebratory attitude does nothing to further this end.
Pilot Vollhov, I do not believe you are in any position to know that which is between myself and the Almighty. As I have already said, I have a bitter enemy whose actions I had blamed upon the Empire. To be frank, your attitude towards this is exemplary of the attitude that pushes prospective converts away from the Faith.

Vollhov, are you declaring belief that Jamyl is her own God? Because that is what I gather from your remarks. If that is the case, while my beliefs may be controversial, yours are radically heretical. I think, then, that you are in no position to speak on behalf of the Church when you depart so far from the gery basis of Its teachings, that there is but one God. Jamyl was a good leader, certainly blessed by the Divine. But to say that she ascended to godhood whilst forsaken by the One True God - which is what you imply - is insulting to the Faith.
On the upside, your borderline xenophobic remarks towards me bother me less now that I see what an outlier you truly are.

I just do not like such as you. Which are at the beginning are betraying and then ask for forgiveness. I see in your vein betraying her death. So how do you came to and saw the truth only after her death. You're not bit better than the Minmatar who rejoiced her death. Do not for me to judge. Yes, I had not been faithful to the church. And goodness which so needed in your Supports. She went forever. You have ceased believe in her, and she died And that's you, you killeds her.
