Could you tell me what Level 4 missions are most difficult regardless of pirate faction? |

Smash the supplier can get pretty hairy, tons of battleships all in one spawn.
Some parts of In the midst of deadspace can be quite challenging as well, especially the last part with a few elite jamming cruisers.
Recon is always fun with the high bounty stuff spawning very quickly |

The most difficult mission would be "Pop the Player", predominantly found in low sec sapce

Atomic agent - blood raider edition. I've lost 3 ships because I got bored and stopped paying attention to the fact I was over heating my guns, nearly lost a 4th for the same reason, but I had an alt sacrifice a t1 frig instead, and one more lost to a disconnect.
is this what you mean by "hard"

As Chainsaw Plankton has pointed out in previous threads, The Assault can be blitzed quite easily and you can avoid most of the jamming crap

Hard...I know many people think level 4 missions are not hard at all but I mean missions with something challenging like many webbers, scrammers and jamming with a lot of incoming DPS and maybe smart triggers.
Anyway I ask about those missions because I think about training to Marauders so I'd like to compare challenge of hardest missions against Marauders versus Pirate Battleships capabilities. |

For DPS, I found the second room in "Evolution" had me breathing pretty hard for a bit....and that was with a well tanked and skilled 'snake. If you use a Marauder and bastion module, then toughies like "The Blockade" and other jamming/damping lose their punch...except if you do them in lo-sec and instantly become a ganker's prime prey.
To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.
...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

Blood Raider's Blockade has a lot of neuts and a pretty decent number of cruisers & battleships. ...I might be thinking Pirate Invasion, though.. can't recall precisely. I rarely pay attention to the mission name anymore. |

in a paladin none of them even get close enough to activate neuts. not sure how the tracking disruption is in the mission, I remember they used to sometimes, but I haven't used anything but a marauder or missile boat so I'm not sure how much of an issue that is.

well that all depends on how you measure performance. For the most part marauders can just sit there and full clear rather easily, although the pirate ships can more or less do the same. It is kinda relaxing just kicking back and going nuts with a marauder. They tank so much and do decent damage.
However I mostly focus on mission completion times, and how much isk and LP I generate. Warp speed mach wins most of the time there.

Don't bother training Marauders if all your intentions are to do lev 4's, just stick with pirate BSs.

Dread Pirate Scarlet can be tough for newer players or those who have not figured out a decent omni-tank / omni-DPS fit. They never really bothered me much but some find the Angel or Guristas Extravaganza tough. The Blockade can be one of the toughest especially if you mess up the triggers.

with the MJD I doubt that is even an issue, seriously the MJD bonus on marauders is crazy

Sansha Blockade is a horror in a non marauder turret ship. The thing about blood/sansha blockade is that not only is the trigger not always clear (especially if youre not paying attention) but the ships have a way of all suddenly getting into optimal at the same time and applying a lot of dps quickly. Though once you get over 1k dps at 70km+ optimal you kill them fast enough for it to not be a problem any more. Same thing with Recon really.
The only way to really screw up in a lv4 once you have a marauder is to literally fall asleep or DC (if you are running a pulse fit). The only way I've ever lost one. Though I have almost lost a marauder doing Gurista assault and triggering the entire room but I was very new to marauders back then. |

^ True. Corpus Harbingers always seem to clear that 75Km (actually 50Km since neut range is 25) a hell of a lot faster than you think, often staying between 200-300m/sec when every other battleship runs at a constant 140m/sec running speed.
I have never ran L5's, but what's the hardest of those?
"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Aside from burners ...
The difficulty of normal level IVs depend partly on what you are flying.
A ranged tanked MJD boat will struggle with the same long range missile rats that a brawler will just eat. Jamming rats will be an issue for a turret boat but the ewar will be ignored by a drone boat like an Ishtar. |

If you have isk and SP, just fly whatever trivializes the missions. Like most of the responses.
If you don't have the isk and SP, there are a few that can be difficult. Anything with EWAR. |

Before getting my Marauder I thought World's Collide was the hardest as you warp to the second room there are aprox. 5 Battleships and a ton of cruisers within 20km range just blasting the hell out of one. |
