OP: The people you're getting upset with provide a lot of useful info on these forums - if it's not the info you're looking for then just move on to the next response.
Back to your questions, I don't think you're cloaking as fast as you think. The cloak animation is just for decoration.
Warpout time is what you're after. 5 seconds is not fast and will leave a lot of time for someone to catch you. Under 2 seconds and no one will catch you unless you have a laggy connection or in a bubble. Under 3 seconds is very good. Maximize your agility skills as a priority. Use EFT to check your align time. If it says 3 seconds be sure to hover over the number because sometimes it will show you that it's actually 4 seconds warpout time. Also note that 2.1 seconds is no better than 2.9 as it rounds up.
After you've fit for maximum agility using rigs and modules, and you've fit low slots with what you need for your goal, then consider stabs. UNLESS you're an explorer in which case they will greatly affect your targeting range.
A small sig is important but the benefit will be greatly reduced if the gate camp has a remote sensor booster.
If you tell us what ship you're using you will get much more specific responses.

His experience and helpful advice provided over the years makes your reputation - such as it is - and any credibility you may have - which is none - look like a warp stabbed ship...oh wait.
He and others have a vast amount of experience with ship fittings and general usage, which you apparently do not. You'd do well to keep a civil tongue in your head.
Otherwise, what are you going to do - ban us all, if you don't like our opinions?

Did you know there are forum rules about butting into a conversation and posting garbage that has nothing to do with the topic of discussion? You are simply trolling and acting like a jerk. Move on troller. Move on.
Why are you asking question in the new player forum if you aren't a new player and won't take advice?
He's asking because - surprise, surprise - he is a troll himself (and not a particularly well-accomplished one, at that), and generally acts quite unpleasantly when called out on his nonsense. He even tried to ban me for voicing contrary opinions - the audacity!

2. doing exploration, in which case someone will either bubble you or bring enough points anyway, so stabs are useless . ..and still you will survive many times just because of your warp stabs. Not always, true! But most of time 2 of them are enough to flee. |

Last time I relied on stabs I got a big alpha in my face on the way back. So? For love of god, use nano fits, use cloaks, use boredom tanking bricks, use TD to make opponent die via rectal bleeding, throw damps or ECM drones at him to get away but don't use stabs. If you fly something cheap in FW more or less experienced fighter will assume stab fit and won't bother jumping on you either without 3+ Warp disruption or big enough alpha. |
