I havent run any missions for well over a year, currently only have large proj spec and torp spec.
I am looking for a non faction fitted Raven setup that can be purchased for under 250 mill, using t2 siege launchers, with the ability to handle most level 4's with an eye to damage/safety tanking.
I am asking for some assistance due to my not having any experience with the current npcs, and my being a PVP only character for the last several months. I know PVP and PVE setups are usually quite exclusive to each other and I am looking for some setup expertise from the mission runnintg community.
Assume max fitting skills minus rcu2 ability. I would appreciate any help available.

Cruises work better.
Raven:
6x 'Arbalest' Cruise Missile Launcher 1x Heavy Diminishing Nosferatu 1x (Whatever you can squeeze in last high slot) 1x XLarge Shield Booster II 1x Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster (800s) 2x Mission Hardeners (Exp/Kin, EM/Therm, Kin/Therm) 2x Invulnerability Field II 2x Power Diagnostic Unit II 1x Damage Control (Best named willing to buy) 2x Ballistic Control Unit II 5x T2 Medium Drones 5x T2 Light Drones (16 Cap 800s in hold, 2500 Cruise Missiles)
This is still my first Raven, which has never been destroyed in a mission and the only mission I refuse is 'Enemies Abound' only because I don't want to mess up my Gallente standings.

Stick an extra 2 mediums instead - don't waste time switching between drone types, just keep spares with you for when you accidently get a couple popped.

Edited by: Inen on 21/12/2006 18:21:40 Although I agree with the previous poster on using cruise missiles for various reasons (fitting being one of the major ones), here is a T2 siege setup.
6 x T2 siege
1 x xl shield booster II 2 x rat specific hardners 1 x invuln hardner II 1 x sba II 1 x target painter II
2 x pds II 2 x bcu II 1 x co processor II
EDIT: Defiantely will want T2 medium drones to help with frigs and cruisers.

This is very similar to my setup, except I also fit 2 Heavy Diminishing Nos, which should be a snug fit with 2 Ancillary thingie rigs (10% powergrid each)

Good to know. I usually fit two dim nos as well with cruise launchers cause the CPU is no problem.

I've been playing around in quickfit, and I've come up with this monstrosity...
5x Malkuth Cruise Launcher 1x Medium 'Knave' Energy Drain 1x Heavy 'Knave' Energy Drain
1x X-Large Shield Booster II 4x Shield Boost Amplifier II 1x Cap Recharger II
3x Capacitor Power Relay (named) 2x Power Diagnostic System (Named)
This will let you permanently run that Shield Booster, giving you 1036hp every 5 seconds. Which is 200odd per second.
Would that actually be good enough to tank L4s? I only did it as a stupid thing really, I was planning on using a shedload of resists and a booster, but if this setup works, it might just be crazy enough for me to use it ;)

No. Without resists you would be eaten alive.
Drones dealing EM on you with 0% resist?

I started level IVs with around 3.2 mill sp with the following setup:
High: 6 arb launchers/(tech II for you :)) (I used cruise) 1 heavy dim NOS 1 tractor (only lot BS)
Mid:
1 invuln II 2 specific hardeners II 1 800 cap booster SBA and XL-booster (started with best named)
Low:
3 BCU II 2 PDS II
I found the Cap 800 booster to be vital when doing level IVs with low skills and tech II/named gear only. A few warp-outs might be needed at some missions but you should be able to do most of them.
Edit: With 3 cap recharge rigs I guess level IVs with tech II only gets much more comfortable.

Cruise makes it easier to fit and tank, though its really up to personal preference. Cruise make short work of cruisers/BCs with their low rof and explosion radius, but if you are coming across mostly battleships (if you are doing gurista missions) using torps will save you a lot of time, espically consiering the battleships tend to shield boost themselves.

6 siege for L4 is not a good idea since you be killing a lot more frig/cruisers sized npc's than bs

I dont run level 4 missions and I can't fly a raven yet so this advice is only given as an outside view.
Why not run 4 Siege launchers and 2 cruse launchers or 3 and 3? this way you have the higher damage for the BS spawns and are still able to take out crusers/BC with realitave ease?
I could be totaly wrong and I accept that, I just base it from my level 3 running Caracal. I use 2 assault launchers for frigs and 3 heavy launchers for everything else. It runs most level 3's faster then my Drake and when I get one of the harder missions where the Caracal cant tank it I just swap ships.
