Currently, I have to type my account password every time I want to log in. Am I the only one who is annoyed by this?
A "Store Password" option in the EVE Launcher would be great. Note that the current launcher incentivizes players to choose passwords that are easy to memorize and type - in other words, passwords that are not very secure. So apart from the gain in convenience, also the security trade-offs of a "Store Password" option might actually be quite favorable.
(If you are genuinely concerned about compromised accounts, consider adding optional support for two-factor authentication.) |

If you add two-factor authentication to counter the "flaw" with stored password your basicly back to the same :P Storing passwords should be doable for those of us that already use a PC with decent secutiry, its not like you HAVE to store the password every time you log into EVE from a random machine (count work PC as random here, you dont have control over what is stored and who read it) |

I believe CCP stated many years ago that they were not going to give the client the ability to store passwords. As someone who does computer repair as a side business, I've seen some utterly attrocious security setups coming from people who really should have known better, and therefore support CCP's decision in this matter.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.
Hello, Mr Carebear. Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Use a password manager like keypass or lastpass? Considering how horrible the current EVE launcher is with all kinds of things, I would not want CCP to try their luck with password storage and security.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

There is a new launcher in development http://evenews24.com/2015/09/24/new-launcher-in-321-bootstrapper/ . I wouldn't expect much work to be invested in the old one. |
