Is it possible to play with two characters on different accounts, at the same time, on the same computer? In a way that you can multitask between them or even play at the same time using 2 monitors? Thx for any replies!

Yes.
a) Launch the game twice from the same installation. Works, but sometimes leads to some lag and occasionally weird things when both accounts try to chenge cached data. Nothing critical though.
b) Copy the installation into a second folder. Launch one account from each installation. Be happy. I have both clients linked from the desktop so I wont accidently try to start the account that's already logged in.
Turn off sound, sun occluding and engine trails for the best performance. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

If you get a BSOD while running two clients on the same machine, make sure you have sound enabled on only one client - if you like to listen to music whilst playing - dont have any Eve sound on at all.

Edited by: Oshaga Nanir on 26/12/2006 16:35:58 I'm using 3 accounts at the same time, never had any problem with it...of course bringing 'em all into a fight is not an option...
I've it installed in one main directory then I've copied that dir 3 times...so I have a total of 4 "EVE-installations"...3 main, 1 test. I've the music turned off ...and play the EVE music in winamp in the background ;)
Though it's not supported by CCP, but it works. |
