IGÇÖm going to try the whole Concord faction ships idea again, hopefully with less complaints about OP haha. To be able to fly the Concord faction ships; pilots will have to have all 4 races skills trained. The Concord ships will have modes similar to the Tech 3 destroyers, but instead of defense mode, sharpshooter mode, and propulsion mode you will be able to pick 2 of the 4 races bonuses at one time. Meaning you can only use 2 races bonuses at a time, you can switch which bonuses you are using like the Tech 3 destroyers, but with 20secs cycle and the bonuses switch at the end of the cycle. That give 16 different choices to choose from.
Racial bonuses: Caldari bonus (per skill level): 10% hybrid turret optimal range Minmatar bonus (per skill level): 7.5% shield booster amount Amarr bonus (per skill level): 30% to afterburner velocity Gallente bonus: (per skill level): 5% hybrid turret rate of fire
Role bonuses: Double directional scan range 15% OR 25% to not activated race bonuses.
Concord frigate (Doru) Concord cruiser (Xiphos) Concord battleship (Hoplon)
I thought this would be a unique idea, and something with many options, and hopefully help take the OP factor away from these boats. I am looking for constructive criticism, and what peopleGÇÖs thoughts are and throw out ideas too. Thanks

Would love to see that requirement for T3 Black Op ships with modes similar to the Tech 3 destroyers: a normal sub-cap mode, a capital damage mode, capital e-war mode or capital capacitor mode.

Unfortunately by having a hull reflect 4 factions worth of bonuses you obsolete the majority of ships. This ends up being a form of tiered ship graduation which we've just spent years getting rid of.
The only way it would remotely be seen as balanced was if only 2 of the 4 bonuses applied at any given time. IE laser/armor hybrid/shield. Even then it would still override many hulls. EVE design in general revolves around counters.
Also from a raw lore perspective capsuleers flying concord ships is kinda hilarious. DED/Concord are the only thing empire has CONTROLLING capsuleers. They would never let a capsuleer touch their tech with a one billion au stick. |

Most ships have 3 to 5 bonuses already, so that isn't all that true. And on these boats you can only use pretty much 2, with role bonuses that really don't help much in combat. Even with the rate of fire bonus + optimal bonus, you still won't have the defense or offense of many other ships in the same class. I've been looking at this and to be honest, with only being able to do 2 of the bonuses at one time, and the cycle change being 20secs I bet these would have to be buffed later on to even be worth flying. And the role bonus of 15% or 25% to the bonuses not being used, well that would prob need to be 25% or more to be honest, and even then the frigate would still probably get rocked by most other faction frigates and all AFs, and pretty much all dessies without much issue.
So these wouldn't override any hulls in EVE at all, and if anything they need a bit more of a buff. The 4 racial buffs, well only 2 can be oned at once, and to change to another one you have 20secs to wait, even if you had 10secs like the Teh 3 dessies these are only one buff not 2 or more so it won't be all that big of a deal.
Why wouldn't they let capuleers have some? I mean look at the pirate faction ships capsuleers get, they aren't the same as the pirates fly themselves at all. They are modified for capsuleers, and seems that they don't get all the things the pirates have in their ships. So if Concord did this, it would be the same, they wouldn't give the ships they use, they'd give modified ones that didn't have everything they have in theirs. And as capsuleers already have sleeper tech, and the Drifters quickly becoming the biggest threat ever in New Eden, why wouldn't Concord give ships to the capsuleers to help battle the Drifters??

F&I that way ===========>
Also, show me any ship that uses more than 3 bonuses per ship level that isn't a T3.
Needing to train all 4 racial ship skills will just increase the skill gaps, and if they're anything like the T3D they'll be massively overpowered. Ah, getting kited to death? No worries, just switch to Amarr mode and become a succubus. Fighting something with blasters? Lawl, just switch and become a jackdaw. Somebody out-tanking you? No worries, slap in the dps of a catalyst with the gallentee mode!
And Hemmo Paskianen, please tell me you're joking. Not only would that destroy any still existing niche roles for capitals, it'd be hilariously overpowered to go around with battleship sized tracking and dreadnought dps, (8,000-12,000 or so I've heard) |

Faction ships have 3 bonuses, or more. Pretty much ALL T2 boats have 4 to 5 bonuses. Harpy Caldari Frigate bonuses (per skill level): 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret optimal range 4% bonus to all shield resistances Assault Frigates bonuses (per skill level): 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret optimal range 5% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret damage Role Bonus: 50% reduction in Microwarpdrive signature radius penalty AND Astero Gallente Frigate bonuses (per skill level): 20% bonus to Drone hitpoints Amarr Frigate bonuses (per skill level): 4% bonus to all armor resistances Role Bonus: 100% reduction in Cloaking Devices CPU requirement 37.5% bonus to Core and Combat Scanner Probe strength 10+ bonus to Relic and Data Analyzer virus strength GÇó Can fit Covert Ops Cloaking Device GÇó Cloak reactivation delay reduced to 15 seconds WOW. So there ya go. Harpy has 5 bonuses, Astero has 5 also.
I said you have to have ALL four races skilled to fly the Concord ships, like any pirate ship has to have 2. Then you don't get to use ALL 4 of the bonuses at once, nope you get to use 2 + role bonuses which don't help all that much in combat. T3 dessies aren't even OP. I have seen a T3 dessie get beat by frigates or other dessies many times. And dessies are made to kill frigates haha. These ships not only won't be anywhere as strong or powerful as T3 dessies, I honestly don't think the frigate concord ship would hold up against some other frigate boats or any AF. And again it seems you aren't reading all that is being wrote, just whatever you want. I'll explain once more to help. The idea I am putting out is you will get a bonus for each race, BUT can only use 2 at any one time. You can switch to different ones BUT it's a 20sec cycle to switch and it won't happen a till the end of the cycle, so for many fights if you want to swtich you are waiting 20secs to do so and well you will prob be dead. So truth be told I think these would be under powered in the long run and IF added would need to be buffed to just keep up with their pirate faction counterparts. There is nothing OP about this idea at all, and to be honest it needs tweeked to get it on par with other faction ships. And these race bonuses are nothing speical at all, just regular bonuses ship in EVE already have and use together haha. I know the new norm in EVE is scream OP to anything that works slighlty ok but I doubt these would be OP in anyway, and sorry to say T3 dessies aren't OP at all either. They were, and they were nerfed. Big thing in EVE is piloting the ship you are flying correctly. Looking forward to your reply and hearing more on OP. |

I mean the bonuses you don't have to train to V just to fly it, and that don't come with the ship, I.e. The appropriate racial ship bonuses. The flat role bonuses are only for either all ships of the class, or 'side' bonuses, like the Astero's CPU for scan probes. So harpy and astero both had 2.
They're basically a "fly whatever ship you want" sort of thing. There'd be no reason to fly anything else near their weight except for a few more specialized ships. The idea itself is inherently flawed.
You can't tell me T3D don't overshadow most other similarly sized ships. How many assault frigates have you seen around in FW space recently? |

Again you cant use ALL 4 race bonuses at once, and just having to have all trained to at least one well is easy for friagte and not too bad for cruisers, but when you get to BSs that will begin to take a lot of training, plus you never want to train to L1, you want at least L4 and usually L5. And your arguement is flawed, you can't just pick race bonuses, because that's BS to do, and even if you did, the Daredevil, Garmur, etc all would just rock the frigate Concord ship pretty easy I might add, and same with thier cruiser and battleship brothers.
And to be honest these are pretty specific role ships. You can go blaster and get close and brawl, but you need to pick AB or shield boost with your hybrid damage bonuse OR try and kite with rails and optimal. It seems to me that most ships around this will be just as good and some better then these ships sadly. So these aren't OP at all and to be honest seem to need more flexiability to what they can do. So in all honestly you did nothing but show me that what I was trying to do to make them not OP, not only worked but also made them too weak and too easy to counter haha. So really the mode idea seems like a good one, but to make it work I'd either need to make it so you can pick 3 (which I do think would make them OP) or in the roles they'd get 25% or 50% to the modes not picked. Or these wouldn't hold up against ANY T2s or T3s and not even against most faction ships of the same size range.
And T3 dessies, I see a lot of faction frigates and AFs still in null, and I know pilots in FW that use only AF and kill T3 dessies usually with little trouble. The T3 dessies are the new thing, and work well so people like them, but also people think they are the answer to everything and because of that die in them A LOT. Only thing I think should be fixed on the T3 dessies is the mode shouldn't change till the end of the 10sec cycle, everything else is pretty where it should be, and they should cost more, but thats more becuase I don't think interdictors should cost more then a T3 hull of the same size.
So the race bonus would stay the same, but the role bonus to the modes not in use would need upped to either 25% or 50%, and maybe the Amarr bonus would need to be changed, but even with the AB bonus I could see these ships still fit either dual prop or with a MWD depending on what the pilots plan was for the ship. Sad no one said anything about the D-scan bonus, I honestly thought it was creative and unique :^ ( |

How would that be under powered? I mean you're totally right, I should just go buy a plain old succubus instead of a ship that, for the same price, can...
Do what a succubus can Be a mini-catalyst Be a hawk Be a d-scanning machine Be a rail comet
Or any combination of the two! Think of the combinations! Massive dps with a tank bonus, or maybe a sniper with an AB that goes almost as fast as a MWD, while inherently can't be shut off. And if it gets caught, or loses tackle, or more dps warps on grid, don't worry, just switch to the right mode. Not to mention making it the preferred roaming ship for all small gang and solo work because of d-scan bonus. The only way it would be balanced is if it got drawbacks from the modes it's not in, I.e. Like if the speed mode isn't activated it only goes half as fast or something. Just because it's T3 doesn't mean it should do anything it wants. |

Because you don't give the inmates guns to kill you with? Pirate factions dont remotely come close to concord or DED. Remember.. Concord and DED(the military version of CONCORD) are the big badasses that keep EVERYONE from crossing certain lines. They do not give you their toys. Their toys are better than yours. Having capsuleers fly them would be on par with a formula 1 car owner letting a 16 year old drive it in a race. |

They don't actually, you're thinking of Jove-ships. CONCORD uses the best technologies of all four races. |

While I get the tech hype that is going around, let me again put on record that tech 3 is not > tech 2 > tech 1 even though the sleeper cruisers are out of whack at the moment.
The progression in power is:
tech 1 < faction < pirate faction (the end and mother of progression. The progression ends here. There is nothing above. No marauder is not it, it is pirate faction. Mordus and Guristas ships are pirate faction. There are no ships more powerful than pirate faction ones in all subcapital shipclasses. No it is not a good idea to oppose pirate faction ships with less than a pirate faction ship.)
tech 3 good allrounder (of tech 2 special snowflake ships with lesser abilities than tech 2)
excluding tactical destroyers (No it is not a good idea to oppose a tactical destroyer in a tech 1 or tech 2 or pirate faction frigate. A destroyer class vessel is 2x the size of a frigate. A destroyer will have more firepower and resources than a frigate. A destroyer class ship is armed to the teeth and can even oppose bigger ships. A frigate can oppose bigger ships but a destroyer is not that class. Running screaming into a double-barrled shotgun with a pocket knife is a terrible idea. The result will not be different no matter how much attempts to do.)
tech 2 - very special snowflake with special abilities that no other ship has
