I have heard a lot of things lately about demigods, even read some treatises of so-called "transhumanists". We now have powerful implants in our brains, and humans try to shift their "humanity" away...
Well, if you are one of these and really want to break through the barrier of limitations of human mind, I'd like to give you rather easy exercise. Of course, you can use all the implants and computers, provided they would be connected to your brain and you would be able to understand the information, not just "generate numbers".
Yes. The numbers. There are numbers everywhere and we think in them. We can have one ship, or two ships. We can split an apple on 10 parts and get 3 of them, which would be 0.3 of the apple. We could even split this apple to 3 parts and take one of it. And even if we can't write it in line as a decimal point - it would be 0.3(3) - infinite number of digits '3', we still can easily write it as "1/3". See? Everything can be measured and counted. As numbers or part of them. And we can easily hold them and comprehend in our minds.
But there are numbers, that we can't. Only the Maker can. There are quite a few of such 'divine' numbers that we can't get exact value of. And one of probably the most used is... Pi. Yes. Try to imagine a quantitive amount of Pi.
And I mean not like in tribal engineer textbook, saying that "For every minmatar engineer Pi is now equal to 3" And not even computing in your head each consequent decimal digit of Pi - yes, there are algorithm for them and you can make implants that would give you digit after digit of Pi, tens, hundreds, thousands, even millions and billions of digits. You might do this even incredibly fast...
But can you hold in your mind precise value of Pi?...
If you want to become a demigod - just try.

Draw a circle with the radius of 1, be that a meter, or kilometer if you're feeling adventurous.
Now, take your favorite crayon and color the area within the circle. In case of a kilometer one, you might need to mow some grass or scorch some surface with lasers.
Congratulations, you are not only looking at - but you have just created pi square meters! Fairly easy to gaze at, not at all mind-boggling.
And, FYI, Matari engineer textbooks assume the one studying it knows the constant well enough not to need to approximate it.

And, FYI, Matari engineer textbooks assume the one studying it knows the constant well enough not to need to approximate it. The question was about quantitative estimation, not definition of pi. And there's easier definition - without squares. If you draw a kilometer diameter circle, its circumference will have length pi kilometer.
Yet, how much is it? How many are there "apples" and fractions of apples in one Pi? How many kilometers in one Pi? Or in your case - how many are there square meters in pi square meters?

We Intaki are reborn even without the assistane of technology yet we do not labour under the impression of demi-godhood. I've never understood other capsuleers belief in this falsehood based on a bunch of wires and biological doppelgangers. They should fly without their pod and see just how immortal they really are. |

I have recently decided to fund a new award for those who take steps towards getting themselves killed for real.
It's called the "Dumbest Capsuleer of the Cluster". Also, flying without a pod is really, really, really inefficient compared to us - even empire's lap dogs know that, they knew that before cloning was even a big thing.
Philosophical aspects aside, the fact is simple: we ride, we die, and we ride again. Now that is a good baseline for the immortality part and it's fairly proven through both theory and empirical research.

If you can use the power of PI to bake a perfectly spherical pie the size of a planetoid, then you ARE God.
By the way, it's not 'divine number', it's 'irrational number'. Also, us Engineers use the value of Pi as 22/7 or 3.141 blah blah blah or just simplify it to 3.142, which is good enough for very accurate calculation. Tell us to imagine Pi and we imagine it as a circle.
Do you even Math?

Not all capsuleers are Sabik. Many of us are atheist.
And learn that your religion is not covered under basic education in the whole cluster, only in Amarr Empire as an example of heresy and in Sabik as part of basic education.

Look at those capsuleers, who claim to be "more than humans" - they show same principles of greed, mass murder and violence.
The only difference between capsuleers and not-capsuleers that capsuleers are canned meat, used as a reusable starship component. Average life time of a capsuleer is way less than of a baseliner. And considering capsuleers - or better a clones - are born already mature and don't need education, going in combat right after their birth in a cloning tube, this definitely don't add to clone longevity.
But, damn, all this cloning and "consciousness transfer" saves so much money for corporations instead of training new pilots!

You are a bonehead.
Your earlier question has nothing to do with the value. Besides, it's understood that Pi is approximately 22/7 or 3.142 or 3.141 on and on and on.
And answering your question, V = 5.85 meter cubed.
If Trii answers that problem as V, she's not entirely wrong, but she's a smartarse and she needs to finish the calculation.

This is why our 'immortality' is an illusion.
Serially mortal, undead, etc etc perhaps, but definitely not immortal. We can still be ended permanently by something like technical failure or sabotage.
