Quick question, how accurate is the dotlan data for moon materials? I assume that the stated material are true, but if it states that a moon is empty, is that valid? Or should I spend the millions to probe ALLLLL the moons in a system?

Personally, I'd scan the moon myself before anchoring a tower.
DOTLAN should give you a decent idea what's there, but the cost of a basic probe is piddling compared with discovering you've made a mistake.

I do not thing Dotlan data about moon minerals has any real value. My corp was mining moon minerals in systems, where Dotlan displays nothing at all.

Short answer: Not very. And it's incomplete as hell out of empire regions. And I don't think any of the 0.4 systems have been added. If the system you target has a list, you can use it as a reference but it's possible that someone put bogus moons or didn't declare the interesting ones. It might even be accurate but checking yourself is the only way to be sure. And store the results of your searches for yourself, even if you find nothing on a moon. Moon probe results don't survive if you log out, dock or quit the system. |

There have been moon surveys posted for various regions.
Valuable moons tend to be deleted from some surveys.

Having now been involved in several successful region invasions, and the stock-taking aftermath, my experience has been that what is in DOTLAN is usually mostly correct but also that the information there is very incomplete. ItGÇÖs been a couple of years now but we sent out masses of folk scanning and cataloguing all the moons in our newly-won regions. I have no doubt that other large groups in eve have done the same and hold similar detailed GÇÿdatabasesGÇÖ.
If I was planning to setup a moon-goo operation, which (having done so in the past) I most certainly am not, I would use DOTLAN as a rough guide but check and confirm the information for myself before committing the necessary setup funds and effort.
I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder.

Ah, I am corrected! Didn't notice this in Crius.
