Are these accessible by non freighter ships? I just wanna take stuff out of it and not pick it up. |

Not as far as I know, it purely depends on what the cargo is and how big your cargo hold is.

Ooo okay, so say if i was mining and just wanted to have one floating there so I could fill up then pick up the contents with a Miasmosm. I guess if its not accessible then my question is moot :( |

Do you mean cargo containers or freight containers ?
Either way they should be accessible from a miasma. However freight containers once deployed are too big to pick up again with anything other than a freighter, cannot be locked and I believe cannot be anchored so will disappear eventually.

It's possible but from what I understand you can't use the secure ones in high-sec (since you can't anchor them) but you can in lowsec/null/wh, which is what you'd need if you don't want someone to pilfer your goodies. It's doable though.

theee freight containers. Just for the sole purpose i don't have to launch a bunch of jet cans. I mine with a Covetor in highsec and just leave them floating there. It's not the greatest ideas but i haven't had anyone poach from them yet (keyword yet). Id just rather have an object with a larger storage available. If I can't pick it up again its alright if it only costs a few hundred thousand. Ill just leave it.
Doesn't have to be secure Id just like more space and less jet cans |

In a high sec belt it's only a matter of time before your unsecured stash gets nabbed, it's just too tempting a target for the eagle-eyed, knowledgeable player.

Very true! But it's not a very big deal, unless they are piloting an ore hauler or barge themselves. I had a venture steal from me a few times but I could fill his ore hold in 1.5 cycles. Plus it would only be there for about 35 minutes as i would empty based on the ore-hold of the Miasmos. Also I won't do that in a system that has more than 15 people |

That's correct - Secure Containers can be anchored in high sec and have a 30 day no-use timer - meaning if you don't access it within 30 days it will despawn.
A thought just crossed my mind while posting this reply, wondering if the recent change of allowing POS to be anchored in 0.8 and higher systems also includes secure containers. Guess the easiest way to find out is to just try it.

That way you won't waste time waiting on the timer for anchoring and un-anchoring.

It was at this point in my EVE life when I decided I needed a second account to do hauling.
Me: 2009-02-23 My Shadow: 2009-04-03
Since I wasn't always mining, I also used him to salvage missions for me. As the Noctis didn't exist yet (he did train for that later), he trained for the best ships for doing that (cargo): the Gallente Catalyst, and Minimatar Hurricane.
This lead him to become trained as a hauler, mining booster, and also exploration (probing, archaeology & hacking). Of course, as an alt, I also trained him for more research & manufacturing slots, as well as more PI planets.
Following all that, I decided to train him deep in drones, since he used those on an Orca, which opened the path to drone boats (especially the Rattlesnake). That lead to BlackOps; as an expert Rattlesnake pilot he was already level 5 Caldari & Gallente battleship, and as a jump freighter & Rorqual pilot he already had jump drive skills; which also naturally lead to carriers.
All that from hauling ore as I mined. |

Don't forget they could just shoot the freight container.
Alternatively you could just seed your belt with Mobile Tractor units. They hold the same as a jet can but are only accessible to you. Please note they can be shot as well. |

do not use mobile tractor untis on asteroid belts , leaving them unattended for too long may get them bdestroyed by someone. best option is to have the container in nowhere just at bookmark between celestials, moons so you bookmark the container and when you are full align to it and warp to fill it up. then you can do same with miasmos to pickup the content and dock to station..
you can launch huge freight container from deep space transport, enormous one from orca, but to pick it up you need freighter, but why if you can fill it and use other ship to grab what you need. |
