It just wouldn't be an Elara post without a music link.

Are you saying you have to do certain things in-game to get clothing now?
DMC It's part of a new initiative called Project Discovery. CCP partnered with a research group to have players help identify cell samples. Doing so provides a type of loyalty point for SoE, which in turn can be used to purchase certain new cosmetics, currently only available through this method (and contracts, of course).

Yiole Gionglao wrote:Anyway I've had a few too much struggling with my dad's computer issues over the telephone and I'm really tired now. I could never work in technical assistance on the telephone... everyhting I've learned about computers it's been because the damned things would break down and there was nobody else to fix it. This, all the way since MS-DOS 5.0 on a AMD 386x @16 MHz and with "special" memories for Windows 'bluescreen' 95... The perfect computer is one that works and then keeps working for years without as much as demanding your attention. That should be feasible if weren't for all the eager codemashers willing to put a bug in our machines by doing something different or new... Hi. My name is [redacted] and I am a techno-luddite. I hate almost everything new and/or unproven, specially computer related. In turn, computers do hate me. My cellular telephone is not smart and is 9 years and 7 months old. I seldom use it since I hate telephones too, but they're too shy to dare and hate me back. The modern computer seems to hover between the obsolescent and the nonexistent. After all, by the time one fully understands one's computer, it's likely outdated.

I vaguely recall playing some pacman derivative and Dangerous Dave. ****** if I know what system that was on, though.

Indahmawar Fazmarai wrote:Seriously guys, now this thread is about discussing that cesspool Reddit?
Truth and popularity are never the same. Truth is usually unpopular. Of course being unpopular doesn't means that something is true, but in a world where only popular ideas could flourish, each and every last despised falsety from the past still would be alive as truth would have been downvoted and silenced for being unpopular.
Reddit is a piece of fascistic sh*t. It's not freedom, it's the exact opposite of freedom. It's the ultimate opression of individuality in the name of random foamy mouthed masses.
Reddit is a content aggregator, not the moral and social gauge of society. You are vastly overreacting.

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, Goons as a group of players exist beyond just the game itself. Losses of space and materiel may splinter off some erstwhile allies or discourage a few sub-groups, but for the most part, it's grown too big to be destroyed.
As for Goons in LAGL, clearly they've been playing the long game with all these sleeper agents. Muh opsec.

Morrigan Nighe wrote:I'm just a bit afraid that they slowly slip more an more into "non-evey" stuff. I seem to recall that a few years ago they said, that they would never give us pink ships because they aren't very eve like - and here we are. Nothing against the charity character of these skins though, that is very nice and the ships themselves also look nice. I figure the forays into "non-evey" things are CCP's attempt at luring in more players by diversifying their appeal. It's a strategy that definitely has its pros and cons, but ultimately I believe that there's a lot of room to explore and flesh out things well within the boundaries of EVE itself that CCP hasn't even touched.

A free trial (even of indefinite length) does not by itself make one an EVE player. At the risk of sounding supercilious, what makes individuals come back to EVE is not something the NPE can easily evoke. The game appeals to a specific attitude and mindset, which, while it can be induced over time, is best harnessed when already formed.
As such, the new "F2P" system merely widens the net - it will increase the game's numbers overall, but once the honeymoon period wanes, this 50k concurrent user count will drop sharply.
