I would like to see a tab added to "info" that shows skills effecting a certain module/ship and how.
Example.
ECM module.
Affecting Skills Tab
Electronic Warfare - Reduces capacitor consumption Frequency Modulation - Increases falloff Long Distance Jamming - Increases optimal Signal Dispersion - Increases module effectiveness
Of course, each of those would be clickable, thus allowing you to see the info on that skill.
Now, I'm sure someone will think this is "dumbing down" the game, but it's more of a quality of life. It's quite tasking to require the player research each skill, individually, especially when you determine that not every effecting skill is in the same skill group. On top of that, it's not always easy to determine if the skill applies to certain things, as the description doesn't always express that it effects your intended items.
However, if we still feel it is dumbing it down too much, perhaps we can add the tab, but only list out the effecting skills and now show how they effect the item.
With this change, we can spend more time playing the game, and less time researching skills. |

When players want a tab added to the show info on items that tells them what it can be used for you say no way in hell because lazy and that information is already available elsewhere go look it up.
And now that we are talking about something that is important to you having all that information readily and easily available on a tab in the show info dialog becomes a wonderful thing that we must have.
My only regret here is that you did not post this idea and that denies me the chance of saying -1 because LAZY, the infomration is available elsewhere in game go look it up.
Since it was posted by someone else, and it is essentially the same as that used by tab that was asked for I give this one an enthusiastic +1.
Joe Risalo while we wait for CCP to add this the idea is a feature in EvE HQ. Every item in the program has an "affected by" tab that tells you precisely which skills affect that item. If you do not use EvE HQ it may be worth looking into simply for this feature. http://evehq.co/
I rarely use them so I have no idea buy EFT and PYFA may have this feature as well.

EFT somewhat has it, but you basically have to change the skill level to know what it does. Regardless of what out of game utilities provide this, I feel it should be provided in game. Skills can be one of the most difficult things to follow.
This would not only improve quality of life for vets, but also help newbros out with what skills the need to be training...
Had an idea on this though. I'm wondering if it would be too much if it also showed the user's level with said effecting skills on the right side? This isn't NEEDED per se, as you can show the info for the skills, but it would be a quick reference to what skills you haven't trained. |

Showing skills levels would be nice as well but coding that would be somewhat more difficult. The simple affected by would be a static entry while showing the skills level would require being loaded every time the dialog was opened and I m not sure it would be worth the time to do it, but it would be nice. |

Agreed. That's why I didn't add that suggestion to the OP. As much as I like the idea, it's not necessary for the original idea to be implemented. |

Forums are pissing me off... Really wish CCP would put all the stickies into a folder so that valid ideas don't get ran off the front page by bad ideas being told NO, so easily. |
