I'd like to sign up for this.
I've been using carriers and dreadnoughts for a few years now. I've become very experienced in w-space triage and also use carriers and dreadnoughts in lowsec and for nullsec ganks on occasion. I like pushing carriers to their limit both in fitting and use in combat (combat refitting and reshipping, mass considerations, ...).
Because triage carriers are my favorite thing to fly in EVE I'd like to see capital logistics stay interesting and the issues specific to w-space and smaller scale (compared to kspace) engagements - particularly with the limited number of capitals that can usually be brought to w-space fights - taken into account for the upcoming changes while also not making them overpowered for k-space use. |

I'd like to register my interest for this.
As a former member of Snuffbox (until very recently) I have had a good amount of experience with Capitals in a PVP context.
I have made extensive use of both Carriers and Dreadnaughts in PVP and WH PVE environments, normally in medium scale (<500 Normally) engagements.
I also have some experience with Super Carriers having owned both a Hel and Nyx in the past.
Triage and Blap Dreads are my two favourite fleet roles and I have plenty of killmails, lossmails and stories to show for that on my various characters. I also have decent IRL experience working and providing feedback in focus groups and similar in a working environment.

I'd like to be part of this group.
My main experience with capitals is solo and in small/medium groups, often supported by subcaps. Most of the fights I have flown capitals in have occured in wormhole space. The fights have been similar to what I think the situation in a post-citadel world will be; applied dps, local tank, buffer and triage will determine which caps die, but without subcap support a group of capitals may well be sitting ducks.
I use Slack on and off work, so my availability is good. |

Hello,
My Name is OriginalName IV, I have been an active capital pilot and Cap FC within my corp Dropbears Anonymous on and off for about a year and a half now. I have experience in both flying and fitting both Carriers and Dreadnaughts within a PvP and PvE setting within Wormhole space as well as K-Space.
I would very much like to be apart of this focus group as a chance to learn and discuss about many of the proposed changes that would effect the gameplay style of me and my corp.

I enjoy mining and resource gathering. I just finished training for the Prospect and am researching gas harvesting to lvl 5 then ice harvesting to lvl 5 for the Endurance once that comes out. As a wormhole corp member these ships are important for us and I would like to be part of this group to help give the wormholer's perspective as I am training for the Orca and the Rorqual. I am training for the Rorqual (50+ days) which is why I am interested in this particular topic. I would like to help make sure that the only capital ship for industrial mining operations will be fair and playable. |

One more applying from PL, I think half the alliance applied, we all have extensive use of our caps, Supercaps and Titans
I currently have several titans and recent kills on all of them, several SC and recent kills on them, plus a plethora of cap pilots
I have had the pleasure of 8 boxing post phoebe move ops
I also maintain one of the largest cap and Supercap building wings in all of PL, this includes cradle to grave production (Except mining) and the logistics of 8 JF pilots just to move stuff around

Hello Selector(s),
I am at your service to provide feedback on the new capital game design, I can comment on how players will view or make use of features or how fun I think they will be. It's clear from this thread that you have many qualified players to select from and I'm sure the design will be improved by good feedback from whomever you do select. I'm looking forward to playing with the final design.
I have extensive experience with capitals in their current iteration. I have made use of capitals as an FC of small and medium scale gangs for both combat and structure warfare. I've flown in large super capital and slowcat gangs as a pilot. I've died in my slowcat, repeatedly. I've tanked the brave hordes in a triage archon. My triage chimera has yet to see intense combat ... I guess I still have a few months.
I was at Eve Vegas and enjoyed the presentations. I appreciated the opportunity to ask questions - I put forward two. The first on capital SMA sizes and the second on tactical positioning in the new larger grids.
Some of my more memorable moments as an FC:
- In 2008 having a carrier supported gang let me cloak a dictor 30 km from them and continue doing their thing for the 15 minutes it took to move a gang into position
- In 2013 Coming within an inch of saving a poco sieging dread (not the best idea) from wormhole ahacs using suicide ecm (it died though)
- In 2013 joining an operation to surprise drop a PL tower grind - we killed a nag before the unlimited archon reinforcements arrived.
- In 2015 (now with PL) finding the edge of glory when my three dreads killed a small tower before being overrun by 90 ishtars (2 dreads escaped after 15 tense minutes of cycling safes)
Reflecting on these moments it is interesting that half of them I "lost." The isk loss certainly stung - yet these brief moments of sheer terror ended up being some of the most fun play sessions I've had. Having real options and real risk - knowing that the end result could go either way - is fun!
thank you for the consideration. |

Hi,
I'd like to volunteer/participate,
I was at Eve Vegas and saw the announcement of the changes, I'm excited and worried as ay other player and would like to participate in this group. I'm a more carrier-centric player that utilizes archons and chimeras for logistical purposes, mainly triage. While I'm also familiar with the workings of "supercapitals" I'm generally new to them. If I'd say I'm lacking anything it woudl be experencie with dreadnoughts. I can bring the perspective of a non-supercapital pilot to the table as a result of my inexperience. All of that being said, Fighters were my bread and butter, as well as deploying my little group of 10 drones, I would like to be able to provide extensive feedback on the changes coming to the new squad system. I'd also like to provide feedback on how these changes would affect wormhole occupying players.
I'm not some veteran and at the same time I'm not a relatively new player, I want to be able to work in this group to give feedback on how the changes will affect players like myself, and somewhat centered on what I'd like to see. |

I've got a lot of experience in flying capitals and fighting them (both against them and with them) in higher class Wormhole space, this includes the small scale combat of around 2-5 capitals and also larger scale evictions where anywhere up to 50 capitals might be fielded.. I've also FC'd capital battles before and have been heavily involved with their fittings. I believe these changes will massively shake up the use of capitals in all areas of space and would like CCP to acknowledge the existence of Wormholes with these changes

I have played Eve since 2003 though I only have a small amount of capital experience which might be an issue I am at least familiar with the ships in question. As someone who isn't tied down by the current system of game play or has a must keep feature of the current system in mind, I think I can provide some feedback on the value of the system being introduced.
I really want to make Capitals fun and something that you can bring to any fight!

I'd like to throw my hat into this ring.
I've been playing Eve Online since the days of Red Moon Rising (2006) having fallen in love with Eve after reading a PC gamer mag review of the game in 2004. Back then it was all Freelancer, but I yearned for more. When I finally got a decent internet connection, I downloaded Eve (back then, it was a 500MB download and could be played over dial up speeds) and started up a few characters. At first, I followed the normal trends of game play for newbros... namely mining, missions, accidental PvP.... Ladar harvesting (Myko and Cyto) until I started getting into manufacturing.
Being a lover of big ships in video games, I gravitated towards capital ships in Eve and started manufacturing carriers, dreadnoughts and freighters as far back as 2008. I was not involved in the battles of B-R or Asakai, but I sold caps to all sides during :D
I started this character as a dedicated capital pilot and could fly a dreadnought before I could use tech 2 large guns or microwarp drives. I went through most of the capital taboo phases as well, ratting in dreads and carriers in Tribute and Pure Blind, losing some to PvP and starting the cycle all over again. I ran anomalies, participated in big fleets (at the time) and used them for logistics (moving assets back and forth). Where as most players play Eve to blow up space ships or participate in role-playing, I dedicated my Eve life to accumulating isk to blow on capital ships, to fly or just ship spin. I prided myself in hoping to be one of a handful of people who could amass enough wealth outside of large alliances or powerblocs to afford super capitals. And I'd like to think I've achieved that.
During this 8 year capital phaze of my Eve career, I branched off into many other activities, most notably PI and started posting some of my ideas on how to expand PI in a few F&I topics... the largest discussion of which manifested in the planetary interaction 2.1 topic posted back in 2012. Since those days, I've amassed enough isk to buy a titan which, regrettably, only sees action on the test server whenever a mirror is made. Be that as it may, I've hosted a number of TQ hot drop fleets in & for alliances that include, but are not limited to: 1) Stark Enterprises 2) Circle of Two 3) Goonswarm 4) This isn't going to end well 5) The Bastards 6) Cruisers Cr3w
While it was still a thing, I loved flying my Skynet carriers in Syndicate. I'd bubble gates with 2 interceptor alts and sat on a station with my carrier, pewing my Friday and Saturday nights away, blowing up singular or small groups of entitled sub cap pilots who'd provide rage content in local and thanking god for the fun I was having. Alas. Since those days, my carrier life has been reduced to slowcats and my dreads were mothballed.
I have also sieged a number of towers pre-Dominion, sieged a few I-hubs post Dominion and RFed numerous POCOs with carriers in Syndicate CAS fleets. I am infamous for bringing carriers to guardian parties with Castabout gangs.
I strongly believe capitals and super capitals are under developed in Eve Online and could be made cool again, without dominating the class meta battles between sub caps, capitals and supers. That being said, I feel that the existing sub capital meta needs a kick in the nads and we need to empower capitals to engage sub caps and supers effectively, while serving as the lynch pin class for tackling and engaging supers. Ensuring sub caps need capitals to engage supers, will ensure capitals have a role outside of structure bashing.
Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

I have been playing EVE for quite some time now, over 10 years. I have stayed out of large fleet fights and always been a small gang fighter. Back in the day my Moros was a potent force multiplier and had a niche not in shooting pos but sub-capitals. 35 heavy drones made quick work of most battleships. I saw my moros later get its drone bay gutted, and while its DPS was impressive the small gang aspect of my dreadnought was lost. With that loss and the lack of variety in the capital field I was pushed from being interested in capital combat until these changes were announced. These were things I had always expected for capital ships but never saw happen. I still want to find uses for these capital ships in smaller corporation environments and think that most of the players out there are looking mostly at larger fleet combat so I would provide a differing point of view on how to use these ships and would be testing out some interesting aspects of capital ship usage. |

I have played eve since 2004 and have great experience with all means of capital warfare from solo hot dropping to fcing NCDOT's super-capital fleets (even when it went badly). My primary focus in eve is and will always be capital warfare. I am well known in my corp and alliance for my capital knowledge and ability to field dozens of supers/titans at anytime. I am excited about the changes but i would certainly like to be part of the discussion. |

Greetings,
I would like to join in this group, because I am concerned about the nature of capital logistics. I am a Triage pilot, which experience in both optimal and sub-optimal hulls. I have been involved in capital fights and use capitals regularly. While I am in "the Evil Imperium", I have zero care about Alliance/Coalition agenda (not even a part of any of those leadership groups anyways). My agenda is very simple, to ensure that Capital combat is dynamic and entertaining, regardless of the scale.
All I care about is to see balanced ships, balances that encourage combat and varied fleet designs, rather than the current state of all the other ship classes, where there is "1 hull that rules them all". This is what led to the slowcats, led to Ishtars and Tengus. Balance in hulls, classes, and risk vs reward all must be looked at, as well as how they interact with other sizes. There also must be a balance between both small and large scale combat.
Rather than professing to knowing all there is to know about Capitals, I am just a layman, using these ships in multiple levels of combat and PvE. I see these types of ships as a furthering of power and ability, like many everyday pilots, and want to ensure that they are something that is both. |

feel i can help represent the low-sec aspect of the game rather well.

Hello,
IGÇÖd like to take part in this Focus Group.
I have great experience in flying super caps and capitals. The first cap I bought was Thanatos in 2011 and by now I have nearly every capital and super among which are 5 titans. Since owning my first titan I DDGÇÖed really a lot of carriers and dreads. Moreover I do not only use them for solo or small-scale PvP, but also IGÇÖm FC for super caps of our coalition and previous FC of Solar Fleet. |

I'd like to express my interest in participating.
I've flown capitals for quite a while and over the summer spent quite a bit of time solo/duo dropping my Thanny.
With 3 capital pilots (and 2 others that I previously sold)... I quite often find myself in dreads, carriers, and even my rorqual. For a while, I also owned a Nyx but I wasn't happy with the state of Supers and sold it.
I've flown carriers and dreads for NSPI fleets, sacrificed them to live events, and traversed New Eden in a rorqual once looking for a fight.
One of my biggest fears of the capital rebalance, is the removal of solo capital play. I think it's an important part of the game and I want to make sure that it isn't lost. |

on a side note... I'd like to represent the fun part of the capital gameplay. How you are planning to make everything. Skills, how will they be transitioned to the force aux ships and all of that. I know how capitals works. flow supers and capitals and dreads. not all on the same pilot though. Died in triage and died in siege.
I'd like to help focusing on the unknown part to people by asking that one question that will make people think about what they are seeing. That one dumb question that escape everyone ! in any case I'm the 99% ! so you want me in :P |

I'd also like to go ahead and volunteer for this group.
I'm not going to try to pretend I have anywhere near the capital usage that some of the more noteworthy respondents, such as Rocket X, have, but I do use them fairly consistently primarily in W-Space and low-sec. I have used dreads in sleeper escalations, structure bashing, and counter-capital drops, carriers both as dps and triage, and have access to a bigger ship as well (I can provide details on this in a less public setting). Besides pure ganks, I have also had the good fortune to successfully withdraw capitals from bad situations, as well as the experience of failing to do so.
I think the main distinction I could bring to the focus group would be the perspective as a member of a smaller group, who uses small numbers of capitals strategically without the availability of a large coalition umbrella if things turn south. In PVP, my capitals are used to supplement a subcapital force or to achieve objectives that would be difficult for our limited number of subcapitals, not as an automatic escalation when there are sufficient numbers. This makes the choice to escalate to capitals or further much more meaningful, and as such, I would be very interested in ensuring that the effective usage of capitals and supercapitals is not limited to those who can bring more/replace them easier. I would love to focus on ways for capitals and supercapitals to receive meaningful gameplay without breaking balancing due to scaling at large numbers, or requiring those same large numbers to do anything at all.
Also, as someone with experience running capital escalations in dreadnoughts and lower-level PVE in carriers, the future of capital PVE viability would also be something for which I'd be interested in providing input.
I also have experience both at commanding small numbers of capital ships, and as a line person following the FC's orders.
I hope I can be helpful to the group, and if not, wish both the group members and CCP the best of luck in guiding these exciting changes. |
