With the upcoming Citadels, I'm wondering how the logistics of building components for the structures work? Can the current station parts be assembled in assembly arrays, or only in stations / outposts? I would also be interested in finding out whether that might change in the future, but I understand the question might be a bit early at the moment. |

I've not actually tried, but I believe an Equipment Assembly Array can be used to manufacture station structures, as the array can build other structures.
I presume the Component Assembly Array can be used to build any required components. |

An equipment assembly array can indeed be used to manufacture pos structures, e.g. reprocessing or compression arrays (I've already build those). And the component assembly should be able to build all the components needed. |

With the upcoming changes to pos's being replaced by citadels, how will reactions, be it moon reactions, gas reactions etc... be performed?
With pos's, there was a limit based primarily on CPU that dictated how much could be done at one location. Will this task now be moved to factories? |

We don't know yet. Watch for dev blogs in the upcoming weeks/months. |

Quote:Focused on resource harvesting as a whole.
Service module possibilities: Reprocessing, moon harvesting, reactions, mining, gas harvesting. We also are considering new harvesting gameplay mechanics. We could for instance have pollution gas clouds form around drilling structures that see high activity, or seed small planetoids in specific asteroid belts and scanable sites which require a drilling platform to break it down in smaller harvestable rocks.
Rigs possibilities: Anything that improves reprocessing, moon harvesting, reaction, tractor beam range effectiveness. Research Laboratories
Quote:elated to any kind of science profession or functionality.
Service modules possibilities: Research ME, research TE, copy, Tech II invention, Tech III invention and datacore spawning. We want those new structures to ultimately replace our existing Datacore system GÇô one way of doing so would be to have Datacore caches spawn near the Research Laboratory that refill at various intervals. Those caches could be set to be looted by anyone, but with a specific tax set up by the structure owners.
Rigs possibilities: TE, NPC cost reduction bonuses, as well as increased success chance bonuses for Tech II and III invention.

Nope, I just tried. You have to build the Structure Components in a Station (Outposts probably work too), which is a real pain if you didn't know before |

I seem to recall this topic coming-up before, and with the same answer.
Sorry, I forgot.
I hear memory is the second thing to go as you grow older. I don't remember the first. |

You will 100% be able to build citadels in a POS
The sizes go from 100K to 10K and they know they will have to adjust some volumes around to make it work. |

Asserting something is true doesn't make it so.
I've read the dev blogs, watched the videos, and read the relevant forum threads. At no point have the devs stated the comps (or hulls) can be built in pos assembly arrays.
Unless you have a specific link your words are nothing more than conjecture.

It is waaaaayyyyyy too much to cut/paste
If you aren't signed up for slack, I am not sure if you can see the logs, but those are from the 30th of Dec 2015. Nullarbor had just come off of vacation and we had a very nice chat about building. What has to change, and what we can change now vs change later
I know you probably don't want to believe this, but the devs are people, they put their pants on one leg at a time, and under the right conditions are very frank and up front with you in the right setting. I talked to him quite a bit at Vegas and have been in Slack since the inception.
I don't much care if you believe me or not, but the proof is there and the sooner you come to the realization that it will happen, the sooner you can start your recovery. |

Pretty sure of that too (and I hope so). However, for the moment the Structure Components cannot be built in a POS (at least not in Component or Equipment arrays). |

If you read my link above, you will see nullarbor asmit he didn't know that you couldn't currently make them in comp arrays. he said he would ask yitterbum (the more industry focused one on the team)
We also asked if that change could be made now as opposed to later.
No response yet as it was just a few weeks ago |
