There's some fine answers here, but tbh you can't beet a good cup of tea:
morning = tea
afternoon = tea
back from a big night out and really drunk = tea
thirsty = tea
cold = tea
in shock = tea
tired = tea
after a big meal = tea
English breakfast tea, earl grey, green tea, mint tea whatever depends on your mood. Hot water + leaves = win :)
Alcohol a nice Rioja is good for red, a decent chablis for white. Or Cab sauv from aus and sauv blanc from new zeland for new world stuff.
A nice strong belgian beer is good for sleeping :)
beer blanche has a great, unique taste.
A simple larger is fine if your hot and thirsty.
Can't handle spirits anymore, too many mucky pints (as in a pint/half of mixed spirits) when I was at uni

Aside from some minor typos, I couldn't have put it better myself -- although a steaming mug of sweet masala tea on a cold day is also rather special.

When I can afford it, I do like JD + Diet Coke. The smell of it is better than the taste.

There I was thinking this was about alcohol 
Couldn't aggree more, though. If you offered me a pint of fine ale, a whiskey*****tail or a nice cup of Yourkshire Gold tea.........I think you know what I'd pick. No contest 
Anyone here ever try Lady Grey tea? I had it for the first time a couple of days ago. Was quite nice. Like a fruity Earl Grey.

Aye I'd go along with the Tea brigade. Nothing beats a warm cuppa, also anyone who drinks coffee is quite clearly ghey or a yuppie (although I am quite partial to a black coffee if I'm stuck in town and theres a starbucks nearby).
If its alcoholic Peroni is the king of lagers but hard to get in pubs so I'll usually go for whatever sounds the nicest and isn't stella or fosters. Im also partial to the occasional Pitcher of good ale if thats available. When it comes to spirits has to be whiskey.
Bloody hell I sound posh as you like.

With a nice steak I like Californian Merlot.
When having a beer with the boys I like Corona with a piece of lemon.
For family gatherings, toasts, or generally getting hammered, there is none better than cold Vodka.
Mixed drinks are for ladies.

Im gunna sound like a bit of a nonce... but i tried White Zinderfal (rose) the other day and to my surprise i loved it!!!
Or if on the spirits then it has to be a Long Island Iced Tea....which is also a noncey
