So I was trying out a javelin garmur and I noticed that about half my hits weren't actually doing damage to the Jaguar. They were impacting, making nice big explosions but no damage at all so I checked the combat log and yup huge gaps where 2 or 3 volleys just aren't registering damage at all.
At first I though it must be range but my range shows 26.8km and I was orbiting at 25. Just to make sure I tightened up my orbit to 23 KM. That's more than 3km within range and still refused to register damage on half my hits.
I hope that this is what they're fixing or else there's an additional problem that they'll need to look at.

just attempted the Imperial Navy Burner team and can confirm that CCP did indeed do it again!!
Two man team missile setup, normally no problem - take out one logi, then the other, then the burner.
Post patch - dps insufficient to break the reps on the first logi.
Closer inspection reveals the possibility of logi defender missiles now playing a part? So how come they can now fit more reps, AND missile launchers?
And as usual - CCP has ****** off and left us to it.

Well we know it's a bug in this case but in general I don't mind that much, we can adapt and find a way around it. So long as changes are properly documented in the patch notes when they do make a change I'm mostly ok with it. And if they make a mission completely impossible to do solo then it just goes into the skip pile. I'll advise CCP not to do that but if they decide thats the way they want to go with it then eventually I'll just find something else to do.

Well for me the Gila is pretty frustrating and random. Might give it another go just to be sure but it's why I built the orthrus fit in the first place :) Maybe theres a way to control drone aggro though the whole point of the ai is that you can't. I'd even be willing to try a cerb but that's because cerbs are kinda cool looking.

I am sure that the change is intended as a stealth burner buff, and now we are the guinea pigs for their change. Otherwise this was easy to get a patch in one or two days, for example by a temporary cut in burners logistic overall repping power to bring it back at normal levels... that if they indeed had any intention to "fix it". Now we just get stuck in missions with ships who worked before, pinned down by a stealth change and burning guns in a futile attempt to kill that rats on steroids who not die anymore, then most likely losing our mission ship after we run out of charges or patience.
Is a long time already from when CCP **** me off greatly with their stealth stupid changes (remember the introduction of ECCM skill? That was a stealth nerf to ECM if you not get it yet ) also other idiotic game play changes, like sentries nerfing (before you jump and contradict me remember that years ago gate sentries had shoot outlaw drones, protecting small ships as well, like AF, gate sentries had shot any outlaw as long he had 15 minutes criminal flag, and also aggression mechanics of sentries had not allowed you before ******** game play mechanics, like that when you shoot a guy, warp out and back and then you are free to shoot him again forever without sentries intervention, even if that guy has not shoot back at any moment, etc, etc).
To cut the crap and not waste my time anymore, i will do what i was tempted to do for so long and uninstall this damn game. For real. |

Drone aggro seems mostly controllable by waiting for the npcs to get into orbit range and then firing 3-4 volleys at one of the sentinels. I also run with a target painter and a corpum nos so perhaps those generate additional aggro. Although sometimes it does just seem hellbent on killing drones. but t1 vespas are so cheap meh. the time wasted is more annoying.

I am lacking a few skills to V so actually run the Gila currently with two Shield Relays in the lows for safety. It still has enough DPS to do the job just takes a little longer and you lose a few drones. With good skills the nerfed Gila will still be fine.

I do not think those ranged scripts have ever worked outside EFT.

yea bring a mobile depot and 4 sprs, I usually refit one while my launchers are reloading as the BCU does nothing and it adds some safety, and swapping to 2 sprs is almost completely safe.
as far as I can tell the range scripts do work. With the polar garmur and rage rockets I'm sitting right on the edge of effective range at 22km and hitting, if the range script didn't work I'd be ~2km out of range.
although makes me wonder about the missile disruptors that are supposed to come out in December.

You will still get the unscripted range boost and if you are kiting away rather than orbiting you may be getting a bit more range there.
Easy way to check is unload the script to cargo next mission and see if you still hit.

Did the Vengeance team burner just moments ago, hadnt experienced the (unintended) changes before. I think I will avoid that mission in the future. Had to burn my hardener and guns well over 80% in order to kill them. Any update on this CCP :)? |

Yea, ECM being frustratingly random even with OH and skills and rigs and killing my own dps and cap to get as high ECM strength and as many as possible is actually NOT the worst thing.
The worst part of all of this is when my missiles hit the burner. I can see them exploding on the hull of the ship and it registers nothing. I do everything I can and the game still gives me the middle finger.
And we still don't have a fix for this and no feedback. So much bull. I'm going to go play STO, call me when they bothered fixing their ****.

Is it possible they are being downed by defenders but the graphics incorrectly shows a hit ?
EVE is very much a game where what happens on screen is not necessarily what is "really" happening (looking cloaked when you are actually not being the classic example). |

the missile graphics are an approximation and are "cool" because you can see the missiles leaving the launcher. personally I think they should bring back the glowing balls of doom that are fired from the center of your ship as accurate and visible beats the hell out of a cool approximation, that you can't even see if you zoom out, or are shooting at long ranges.
that said I just had a mission where the damage logs didn't even show up on screen. they appear to be in the log, but I don't really want to fly with that open all the time.
even so, with ~30km javs 220 heated dps kills the burner nice and quick once the logi are jammed out, I'm liking the setup a lot.
