Just as the Imperial Navy has stepped down from a state of war against the Blood Raiders, Drifter incursions have begun again, by capsuleer report.
No news so far on the extent of the incursions or their intensity. Reports unconfirmed by official media.
Our peoples have stared extinction in the eye; but we have spat in that eye and stood to fight with valor and undying loyalty to our culture and our kin. Our struggle is as one, so let us struggle together.

Hm. Normally, I don't give rumors much credence without at least some information on their source.
However, this one must have been well-sourced, as the Drifters have appeared in force in Remoriu, Yanuel, and Tash-Murkon Prime.

I am paying the fees to CONCORD so I may join in the war against the Drifter.
I hope we can drive them back.

Current reports indicate the Drifters engaging each other; a small group from the Consortium is taking the initiative in finishing off the weakened Drifter ships.
I'll be frank: I haven't the faintest idea what's going on. We've never seen nor heard of Drifter disunity before.

I've seen one up close, it was 5,000 Km from me when I warped away, Pretty sure we locked eyes for a moment.

The Scope confirms the rumors.
Priano, is IKAME planning on releasing a statement? I'd be interested in their perspective.

Thinking that the Amarr would be grateful if we'd stop discovering drifter stuff....

Of note, there appears to be some issue with the drifter command structure. Perhaps a controlling AI on the fritz as drifters either remain motionless in space or attack their fellow drifters. Is all very confusing but at this time, not a threat to the point of being comical.

The Amarr with their vast yet outdated fleets.... this has the makings of a slaughter.
Still I wonder when the Federation's shady president is going to have anything to say on this matter. That old coot's silence on this is just as unnerving. He's up to something.

Everybody is up to something. The Tribal Council is silent. Roden is silent. The Heirs are silent. The Megacorps are silent. CONCORD is also way too quiet about the matter.
For all we know they might be in some dark room in some deadspace complex plotting something. Like introducing a line of malicious code into every capsuleer implant to be activated upon acquisition and activation by Drifter entities so that they can make the Drifters dance the chicken dance every half a minute or something.

Operate out of highsec. At least in lowsec you can count on everybody shooting first. Hell, nullsec in my proteus is the only place I feel safe.

All rumors that Goonswarm and/or the Imperium are somehow feeding tactical data to the Drifters in order to weaken the Empire in preparation for the installation of Max Singularity on the throne are completely false, and are vile, vile slander. There is no such scheming going on, Max was not backed by CONDI pilots during the Trials as part of the plan to get one of our highest-ranking FCs temporary access to Amarr computer systems, and the match was definitely not lost as part of an intricate and diabolical plan to demonstrate Max's loyalty while still ensuring both he and our pilots would be well clear of Amarr space by the time the hammerblow comes. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're lying, and should be shunned immediately. |

Why would President Roden make a statement on this matter? With little to no knowledge of why this is happening to the Empire, any such statement would be vacuous at best.
Whilst our politicians are not above empty rhetoric, taking a public position is usually only done for advantage. Speaking in support of the Empire risks looking foolish if it emerges they have done something to provoke the Drifter attacks (and severely hacks off most Minmatar voters and a large section of others who view the Amarr with suspicion). Speaking against the Empire with no evidence risks more accusations of interference, coldness if not hostility from a potential ally should the war extend to the rest of the cluster, and an end to any mutual intelligence sharing that is likely to be going on outside official channels.
The President made a strong show of solidarity with the Empire by personally attending the Empress' funeral. And as Captain Egivand has noted, no other interstellar body of note has made a statement either, probably with much the same reasoning.
Humanity has won its battle. Liberty now has a country.
