I need some advice on what skill to train next:
Drone Interfacing V or Heavy drone op V (and therefore t2 heavy drones)
Any ideas?

Upgrading from t1 heavies to t2 heavies gets you more than a 20% damage bonus, plus all those other good bonuses. The interfacing skill would bring you closer to a carrier and boost all your drones. Do you use heavies a lot? If so, I'd go with t2 heavies then interfacing 5.

Heavy V, and then Interfacing V!!!
Your drones will tear stuff up after both those finish, and you'll be all that much closer to a carrier too

i went drone inter V then i think heavy drones V but that was a while ago and i cant remember. Though after looking over the skills again i would go Drone Inter V and then Heavy Drones V. Here are my reasons. Drone Inter gives 20% damage bonus to all drones so all your drones will be better even the heavies Heavy Drones only gives a 5% damage bonus to heavy drones.

A bit faulty logic. Heavy drones 5 gives you the ability to use t2 heavies, so you'd have to calculate the damage bonus from using t2 drones over t1

learn some math? 1. drone interfaciong is NOT 20% more damage to drones. With DI4 you have 1.8 damage mod from this skill to all drones, with DI5 you get 2.0 mod. Now let us see what the actuall increase is, yeah, it's only 2.0/1.8=1.1111.. which is 11% more damage. 2. t2 heavy drones have 20% more damage mod which is REAL 20% dps increase unlike DI5. In addition you get spec bonus of 8% which does not work with t2 heavies, plus additional 5% (slightly less if tou run the numbers) from heavy drones 5 skill by training it. Do the math yourself to see what the combined effect is. Oh and t2 heavies have slightly better stats and costs reasonable comparing to t2 mediums.. primary because of low number of people willing to train another "long" skill for "only" 5%.

What's everyone's favorite Drone? I've been using Ogre's for lvl 4 missions. Any thoughts?

Well, they do more damage than the other types and they have better tracking, but they move more slowly and are more vulnerable. I'd just stick to the best damage type for missions. ------
So you're lagged out in Motsu/Saila/Aramachi, but you want that CNR? Do missions for another corp! |

Don't forget you need 4days-ish to train EACH drone specialization to lvl 4 for T2 Heavies. So allow for up 16+ days for all 4 damage types.

Why is everybody in this post so in favor of Heavy drones? I rarely use them, mostly small and med T2s, and sentries. Sentries are faster in damagedealing, meds and smalls are faster flyers. Try to target ships at 40-50+ km with heavies, be it T1 or T2. I'd go for DI 5, that bonus aplies for all your drones. The T2 argument only goes if you train drone specialization for all 4 races. ----- FreeHansje
