I think they need to increase warp strength in all ships to reflect their size and class. Just like they are doing with the titans ans supers. If a BS had a warp strength of say 3 built in that would be more realistic and you would see a return in larger ships. No one for a second in any reality thinks a 300m isk BS should be able to be killed by a 300k isk frigate with a scram.
If a BS could just jump out then you would see them return. It should take 4 or 5 frigates to kill a BS.
To counter anyone thinking this would not work, it also come with another change. Make scrams and disruptors sizable for each class of ship. Small unit strength of 1, medium 2, and large 3. Now ships of equal class are even, and the big ships have one advantage over small ships in escaping a scram.

Oh and I think T3 Battleships should all be dual weapons and dual bonused.
Ex: 8 high slots/ 4 for your main large weapon, lasers, rails, missiles, arty. Then 4 for light missiles and rockets or small rails for caldari. The ship would have bonuses to make each like shooting 8 guns. with the secondary bonuses to tracking. They would have no drone capabilities. This BS could take on big and small, but would need intense skills in missiles and guns to accomplish it. |

I'm all for more Battleships. More diversity could be seen in this class. Unfortunately with the nature of the hot drop their use is more limited in low and null then it should be. Seriously, huge roaming BS fleets should be a thing without constantly being vulnerable to a lowwat hotdrop omg we ded. I am of course referring to their use here by smaller entities, not larger groups that can field what they want because they have Cap support.
But I would also like to see Pocket Capitols as well, ships between the current Battleships and Capitols. They have no jump capability but they can enter Hi Sec. Since carriers will only be able to use fighters then Pocket Carriers could field a few more drones then most ships. Maybe have a Pocket Capitol capable of being a mobile cyno jammer, jamming out to say 4 AU. It could travel around with a BS fleet and prevent loldrops so the enemy would have to take it out first if they wanted to drop. This would give a good reason for a small group to roam in BS's and give lots of GF's when they ded. |
