I read a past post about the extraction head raw output quality index and the total output:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=395536
I know both are estimates, but they are not in agreement with one another. I usually just look at the (estimated) total ouput when tweaking my heads' ubication, but I usually see that the total ouput goes up and the quality index goes down.
Which of those should I use to maximize my output? Should I try to max every extractor head's raw output quality index? Or the estimated total output? Are both of them (differently calculated) estimates?

It's likely that the bars are getting lower because the scale is changing. Maximize your Program output. You need 3000 units per hour to keep a basic industry facility busy. The accuracy of the estimate is determined by the planetology and advanced planetology skills. |

Thanks for the info.
Yes I have the goal of 3000 per T1 processor, but I sometimes get below and sometimes double it, that is why I am asking about the disparity of those two indices.
So if I get my Planetology skills up, I should see a reduction in the dispartiy between the estimated total output and each extractor head's raw output quality index? (Being that if I maximize either, the other will be maximized too?)

I am not sure even max skills will give you perfect numbers but it will sure help.
Note that improving skills seems to have minimal effect on the graphical scan display, it mainly effects the numbers you get moving the extractors around.
