I did a tutorial, few career agents, and I start to get bored... But Eve pulls me in somehow and I think about subscribing. What would be your ideas to do now, to not get bored by career agents and to get sucked by this beautiful world? What shall I do? Start a corp, do some missions? Rob someone?
What would be your best advice to do before and of trial, to actually get engaged in the game?

If not sure then of course, subscribe for 1 month at a time until you are sure.
Join a player corp. that's active (meaning not just a few members online every now and then), a corp that has the same interests as you (mining, hauling, combat... ) whatever you like doing. The corp. also needs to be in the same area as you, so that you can partake in their activities.
Boredom can come from playing a game for extended periods as you can be doing just the same old stuff again and again. So you need to try and identify why you get bored. |

First and foremost learn to not rely on people to provide content for you. If you cannot do this you'll forever be bored in EVE no matter what you do. If you can overcome this hurdle because for you it is a hurdle otherwise you wouldn't have posted this question find a corporation that does the same things you like to do and one that fits you and that you fit in with.
Do these two things and you'll likely have a blast and love eve. Fail these and you'd be better off moving on to another game because you'll quit anyway. |

To second the above poster we are the content in Eve. This is a sandbox. It's not like other MMOs where content is created and supplied to you. You have to go out and create the content yourself.
I understand how that can seem a little overwhelming when you don't know much about the game but don't worry. At this point all that you need to do is go out and try out some stuff. The career agents are really just there to give you a most basic intro to the entry level mechanics around some of the various activities. They are not real content and Eve does not questlines to take you from day one clear through to end game. You are expected to be a bit self-motivated and seek out your own playstyle.
My best advice is to just give a lot of different things a try. Getting with a decent corp ( which may take a few tries ) or going on some NPSI roams or something like that can be a decent place to start. The key is to making friends because Eve is first and foremost about the connections that you make and second about the experience you gain. At least that is how I see it. |

Definitely rob someone.
Or kill a bunch of people.
Just start ****ing with the locals and soon enough you're going to end up with friends and/or enemies, once that happens eve turns into a much much better experience.

Make friends, or enemies, or probably frienmies
Flying with other people and blowing stuff up does it for me.
you could always start a corp, run some missions, and then steal everything

I've subscribed/unsubscribed from Eve at lease 5 times since 2008. Sometimes I'm aware that I'm doing it for the same reasons repeatedly. What did Einstein say? "Doing the same thing over and over again expecting the same result is a form of insanity" Well, I think he said that.
Let me come clean here. I'm older. Late 50's. I don't have the patience I used to have to sit in from of the computer for hours pouring over game details. But I've tried the games that are hack & slash like Diable, or the ones that make you run all over like WOW lookng for some cave entrance, and they've eventually bored the hell out of me. So if I feel compelled to sink hours in front of the computer playing a game, and I can to get over my need for immediate gratification for the evening, I sit down and play Eve.
In a nutshell, I came back to Eve simply because I can honestly say that it feels like a game an adult would play.
Ok, please don't flame me on that. Lots and lots of adults play WOW, Starcraft II or Fallout 4. But, Eve fits my personality. It's really serious. It takes no prisoners. It doesn't hold your hand. It lets you get in trouble. It's like a combination of spaceships, corporate mayhem and a course in accounting.
That's why I come back to it. I may get annoyed at something and quit again. But history tells me that I'll come back to game that lets me sit at the big boy's (and girl's) table.
Let me take a shot at answering your question. How do you keep from getting bored? You can't. It can be very boring at times. So can any game. Same graphics, same music, same places. The best thing to do is simply focus on a narrow range of activities at any given time. Work on your mining for a few months exclusively. Then when you have a lot of ISK, start working on your salvage skills for a while with a nice Destroyer or something. Go out, kill rats, salvage them, rinse and repeat. Go to Jita and be amazed at the number of ship cruising in and out. So some buying & selling. Start your own one-man corporation.
I dunno. There is lots of things to do. Just don't think about the big picture. It's like sitting in the front row of a real IMAX theater and trying to see the entire screen. You'll get frustrated and leave. Just focus on one or two things at a time.
Sorry. I rambled on there.

I totally agree on this. I'm 44 and this is a game where I don't feel like I'm playing with children. It's refreshing. |

Thank you all for the wonderful response. I just wonder if there is a point in sticking with tutorials for few months.
To make sure: how do I start robbing people and joining some bloodthirsty band of sociopaths? It seems tempting as it is opposite to my daily life :D |

A good attitude will get you much much further here than anything else so when you have your sand castle kicked down, Laugh it off and be a sport about it.

This is true.
Go and join a corp. If you like the people, great! If not, make a dramatic exit that involves stealing everything not nailed down and burning everything you can't steal.
If you like, when you pull the trigger, say I sent you.

As said above, join a corp and go do stuff, you have barely touched the surface.

The key here is that you need to appear to be a harmless newbie to them.
Ask a few silly questions. Act helpful. Make mistakes.
All this time, track who is online and when, and work out who makes the main decisions in the corp.
Become useful, then indispensable, then offer assistance that requires you to have corp hangar access and/or POS roles. When they ask if you want those roles, answer naively 'it's a big responsibility, are you sure?'.
Then use your log of who is online and when to plot the best time to strike.

If you want to join a relatively inept but quite active bloodthirsty band of sociopaths just google CODE.
