I am working The Plan, doing the Advanced Military Career Agent in Gallente space. Agent: Cala Baliaerdt
I am running mission 6 of 10 "Don't Look Back", where you simply are told to use an afterburner to make to the Asteroid colony.
I fit the Civilian Afterburner module that was granted to me for the purpose of the mission. I unfit all other modules from my ship. (The mission does not specify which ship to use, or give me one.)
As soon as I see the colony in space and on my overhead, I try to approach it. But it acts as if there's some kind of invisible forcefield around it, and it pushes my ship away.
Something similar happened in a recent mission where I equipped the wrong Atron (the one that WASN'T given to me for the mission).
But I equipped the only Civilian Afterburner that was in my inventory; the one that was given to me.
Any ideas of things I can try to make it through this mission? Thanks! |

That's odd. You're supposed to simply select the colony, and approach it with your AB on until you complete the mission.

I would not be afraid to open a support ticket on this one. I'm not familiar with the mission but it sounds bugged. Even if not I can tell you that GMs are more than happy to help new players on stuck missions and they typically get resolved very quickly. |

Mission is designed to showcase the need for propulsion modules (afterburner, microwarpdrive). If I remember correctly, you arrive in the zone some 60 km away and have to fly to the colony, and there's some text to make you rush rush rush.
OP, are you sure you approached the correct structure? The colony may not be in the overview by default, just to trick you.
As a side note, all EVE stations will push you away when you get into close enough range to them. So the push is normal, it's just that the mission should have told you "you're done, go report to your agent" before your ship is close enough to be pushed away.
The only thing I can think of is you didn't approach the correct structure. |

To add on to what Mephis said, in Eve if in doubt right click. In this particular situation you could try right clicking in space and see what options that you have and go from there. |

The right-click menu will probably not have the colony in it, though it might, as a mission destination. You can also open the Overview settings and go to each category and check all boxes, so that everything is displayed. Make sure you check things like walls and collidable objects and bunkers and basically all types of structures and deployables. |

Thanks so much for all of the helpful info, folks. I had actually tried most of this.
After two attempts of trying the mission, bouncing off the station (about 40km away), and docking, I decided to wait an hour.
Then, I tried the mission, and it worked just fine. Weird.
Interestingly, during this same time period, I noticed another weirdness in Eve that was occurring...
Selecting 'Dock' on a station, which initiated a warp to that station first, would leave me outside the station, but with no docking request initiated. It was if I had issued a warp to 0 command.
This problem went away right around the same time my mission worked. Could be total coincidence.
Again, thank you for the helpful responses. I love this community.
