So I've been trying to optomize my Rattlesnake for farming anomalies in Gurista null. I think I've gotten it near "perfect" but was wondering if some of you kind people could take a look and make some suggestions? No, I'm not going to put any officer mods on there, it's already shiney enough
[Rattlesnake, Rattlesnake] Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System Imperial Navy Drone Damage Amplifier Imperial Navy Drone Damage Amplifier Imperial Navy Drone Damage Amplifier Imperial Navy Drone Damage Amplifier

Large Core Defense Field Purger I Large Core Defense Field Purger I Large Core Defense Field Purger I
Hobgoblin II x5 Warden II x2 'Augmented' Wasp x2 Vespa EC-600 x5
I'm currently getting 1535 dps (according to in-game fitting screen) 871.5 from missiles, 663.8 from drones. Using this fit I'm able to get around 30 million isk/tick in forsaken rallypoints. Highest I've gotten has been 35 mil, but that is usually based on how far apart the sites spawn and how much time gets wasted flying between them.
I think I have damn near perfect application (explosion radius of 481 and the bs's in the site have sig of 410, they usually stay under speed of were that should matter as well). Then I use my heavies on the smaller ships. Now I don't have perfect application with those, so that might be an area of improvement.
I've thought about getting t2 field purgers, but they're so damn expensive (I know, ironic with this fit ), but if I do that I think I could use one of the other rigs for either application or a little more dps.
I've also thought about switching my damage amps around so it's 3 and 3 (or even 4 missile damage and 2 drone), just had it this way since drones were most of my damage up till about a week or so ago (t2 launchers ftw )
Last thing before I shut up, I recently started using the 'Augmented' Wasp and I'm not really sure if the increased dps is worth shooting into the secondary resist hole as opposed to all the damage being focused in kinetic damage.
TLDR: Any fitting advice? |

Just checked it out in EFT and apparently the in game numbers were off (they've been really wonky for a while now, it was listing over 4 million at one point )
The DPS is still 1535, but the missile and drone damage was switched, 871.5 from drones, 663.8 from missiles. So I guess switching to 3 and 3 damage amps would be best, rather than going fully around and doing 4 ballistic and 2 drone.
Also of note, EHP vs guristas is 105,900. I've never had shields drop below ~60% when in an anom. I also orbit an mtu while in them, so that might mitigate a teeny tiny little bit |

Step 1: Warp to Anomaly Step 2: Deploy Drones Step 3: Recall Drones when Anomaly Complete. Step 4: Rinse, Repeat. Profit?
If you notice your drones taking aggro, use the Shield Transporter on them which will A: heal your drone and B: draw aggro back on the Rattler.
I use a very similar setup but with either a Gila or a 100mn AB VNI, both of which can run a Forsaken Hub with ease. The VNI needs a little attention to knock out the Mortifiers.

mine's less than half the price, has better tank and twice the DPS........
(334 DPS for yours, 747 DPS on mine with an All V character according to EFT).
Your fit is bad. You should feel bad.

You forgot to change the missile type. Put in scourge fury and you should get the same numbers as me Higher if you're using all lvl 5 |

Replace at least one, if not both Guidance comps with target painters and see if you get better hits. You drones will benefit form them too if you're focusing on the same target. Republic fleet painters give a slightly bigger boost in sig so use those.

I'm going to go in a slightly different direction. Replace the cruise launchers with RHML and auto-targeting scourge missiles and ditch both missile guidance computers. Replace the field purgers with hydraulic rigs to extend missile range and add a shield booster and additional drone navigation computer in the two free mid slots. I'd also go with all Deadspace shield modules.

I think 3-3 is best on damage mods. I'd also swap the rigs for rigors to better apply cruise damage. purgers don't do a whole lot and then you can switch one of your MGC for a shield booster. 2x deadspace kin 1x therm and a deadspace medium or large booster should be way more than enough tank, especially if you are sitting at 60%+ shields currently. With the wasps only thing I can say is put it into a spreadsheet and calculate what does more damage.
My only other idea is to go with a semi pvp fit so you can try and neut out a tackler or not have as big of an EM hole. and/or add an MJD to the fit.
auto-targeting missiles are nice if you are going to run semi afk. they are also nice to establish drone aggro if you get jammed by the NPCs.

I was originally going with one guidance comp and a target painter, but I wasn't able to get full application with the fury missiles that way (admittedly I was only using meta 4, and still working on some of my application skills). With this set up I have full application with the missiles. Honestly not sure the target painter would help much on the smaller ships since often the drones have them killed before I'm able to target them. I still have to plug some numbers into the drone tracking equation to figure out how far off they are when hitting the battleships.
Also of note, I usually use the drones on different ships than I use the missiles on. Helps to keep me from wasting travel time with the drones and volleys with the missiles.
I don't think the RHML are worth it when including reload time. Since they tend to run out of ammo before the site is finished, there isn't really a good time to load them. Also, I'm not range tanking them, so no real need for longer range on the missiles, even heavy missiles the rats are still usually within range of.
I do occasionally use fof missiles when I don't feel like paying a lot of attention, but that's kind of a backstep as far as isk/tick is concerned.
Chainsaw, do you see a reason to go with an active tank? In order to do so my application would be worse (rigs aren't as effective as the scripted module), and my tank really isn't a problem as it is now. An active tank would be nice for if I get dropped on since I can overheat it, but then neuts would be more dangerous for me as well.
I have thought about switching out the drone link augmenter for a neut since it isn't really needed at all. That said, most of my tank comes from paying attention in local/intel and switching to a pvp ship when someone shows up. |

If you don't mind my asking (and please don't take this the wrong way) how? You do about the same raw dps as me, but have way lower application with the missiles and slightly less with the drones (my omni is pimped). Only thing you have going over my fit is a second drone navigation comp.
Were you maybe using this fit before the dire frigs and cruisers were added? They do take up a lot of the time I've noticed (relative to bounty) |

Hey, don't knock it until you try it. Auto-targeting rapid heavies will melt frigates and cruisers while drones take out the battleships. They're ECM immune and with V missile skills and +5 implants you'll put out close to 900 DPS.

Yeah only problem I've found with fof missiles (only used the cruise) is that which ship is closest to me changes. So a lot of the dps gets wasted on ships regaining shields. And the ECM isn't really a big deal. Only have jamming ships on the first wave of forsaken rally points, and you don't have any in forsaken hubs. |

Try heavy missiles - auto-targeting cruise are completely ineffective. It's less about the ECM and more about being able to automatically take out anything smaller than battlecruisers.

It's about applying the right dps to the right rat, everything spawns really close, so i used the drones to take out frigs, cruisers bc, while the cruise start on battleships |

That's the exact same thing I do... Basically what you're telling me is we do the same thing, have the same dps, I have better application, but somehow you're consistently pulling in 5mil+ more per tick than me? Something seems off there
Arthur Aihaken, thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try. I'm a little skeptical that it'll be better, but hey, try everything once right |

I'll admit I'm kinda on auto pilot here with the rigors thing, and not 100% on the math since they changed things a while back. But I think over all they are better. T2 rigors are 20% and will allow you to use your mid slots for more drone damage application. 2x MGC does ever so much slightly better than 2x rigor IIs 1x flare I. and once you have the rigors/flare equipped a target painter gives a bigger dps increase than a MGC.
Also since they are null anoms, If you are going to use heavy drones doing something like fitting double drone nav comps might be a great idea as the npcs spawn in a cluster. that is the main reason I can think of for that other fit to complete sites faster than your setup.
Overall you don't really need a whole lot of application to hit gurista battleships, they are more or less the best case npc out there for using big ass high damage missiles. Hell I think they are one of the few NPCs where using rage torps makes sense.
