As some had suspected, the announcement of the formation of the Upwell Consortium was made on their already having a developed product line. Fascinating stuff!
I look forward to seeing how these perform compared to our current selection of starbase and outpost structures.
Further, I am pleased to see that the Legion remains committed to its security duties on Caldari Prime, and is not subcontracting those duties to other organizations.

Oh, sweet Maker! Now what interest does a coward and liar like Makoto, who has her honor and right to be called Caldari, have in OUR homeworld?! Go away, low life. Caldari Prime is for Caldari, not you!

Well, thank you for acknowledging that!
That said, Mr. Bete, if you read the final paragraph of the article, you'll notice that there is some discussion of Arkombine, a freelance clone soldier organization, potentially being contracted by Mordu's Legion to provide additional manpower for operations. The Legion then clarifies that they will not be using Arkombine on Caldari Prime.

I'm rather excited to see how things develop with the Consortium and its products. This will be a game changer in the Capsuleer infrastructure market, I think.

Based on preliminary reports, these will in many ways significantly outperform existing Empire-designed outposts. We've already got an order in for a copyable blueprint for the Keepstar model, and I plan to pick up a few of the Fortizar models myself. |

Creation of the Upwell Consortium suggested something new... but is this all, maybe they are still developing even more types of "products", who knows.

More potent active defenses, the ability to dock supercapitals, including titans, not needing a planetary body (moons, for the record, are planetary bodies) gravity well to maintain a stable position... that's just off the top of my head. It's a far larger structure - at least, the Keepstar is - and it takes significantly longer to deploy, but the vulnerability window on the deployment is limited and predictable, so it's a lot easier to defend, as well. |

Pilot Lanate; from the original press release, "The Upwell Consortium is being founded as a means to 'capitalize on the burgeoning capsuleer space infrastructure market,' with initial product offerings to focus on space stations of novel construction in several size ratings, so as to 'suit the needs of capsuleer organizations with varying scale and scope of operations.'"
Initial product offerings would indicate that they have rather more than this.
That said, if their initial product offering is as broad as this, I'm very curious what will follow.

Do you have a source on that? Will all of the announced structures be so capable?

They've already included the supercapital docking capabilities of the Keepstar in their most recent press release. The rest... feel free to think of it as 'industral espionage', since after all, they'll do business with mercenaries, but certainly wouldn't ever do business with the evil goonies. |

Seems that Upwell won't service small-scale operations. Nothing is stated about 'small' citadels. I assume the usual outposts are still going to be available.

I'd assume so, though with the Astrahaus being aimed at corporate use, individual-scaled facilities for storage and refitting might be seen as superfluous with the existence of depots. |

Well, it appears the Upwell Consortium's backers have certainly started off boldly. The Scope just started reporting that Mordus Legion effectively retook ORE from the Serpentis for the sake of it's founder Yani Arteu. This certainly opens up even more possibilities with ORE announcing it's plan to join the UC.
Given the prospect of the new Citadels being announced by the UC, I wonder what mining aspects we will see come to fruition with ORE's contribution. Most interesting. |

For me, at least, the most interesting detail is the, 'SCC reports ORE shareholding transfers took effect moments before station assaults.'
Oh? Share transfers? From who to whom, and on whose direction?

I suppose this speaks volumes of SCC's incompetence and corruption more than anything else. Not that I care too much for exposing themselves for what they are, really. If Upwell Consortium wants to build their infrastructure on that, that's their choice.
Not to mention what kind of deals and strings old man Arteu had to pull to raise capital for such a venture, even without the Mordus hiring budget. It must've taken quite a sum to convince them to stop playing Caldari lapdogs for a second and help out Gallente corporate interests for once. I suppose those matters are a 'business secret' and not subject to any kind of investigation, of course.
Speaking of which, one should keep a close eye on Msr. Orion Mashel; we wouldn't want the man to suddenly go missing, would we.
I won't waste any more breath on this hypocrisy fair anyway - I don't want to appear as a hypocrite myself suggesting I give a damn about your laws - I'm simply pointing out the aforementioned hypocrisy, that's all. Also, the world of high finance is similar to the proxy wars of the Big Four's militias: the pendulum always keeps swinging.
In any case, old man Arteu, well played. I hope it was worth it.

Fellow Capsuleers, Upwell Consortium employees,
I find those latest developments regarding the Upwell Consortium and the reclaim of ORE holdings very interesting. I wish all employees and authorities of Upwell Consortium endurance, inspiration, and success. Propably the most relevant development in the stellar business sector over the past year. I am looking forward to a more detailed business plan, company guidelines, and commitments beyond mere infrastructure production. The company's classy slogan reads as "Building Dreams", which let me smirk for a moment. There is a certain notion of a settler's mentality in it, which seems to explicitlly address the part of the capsuleer community concerned with exploring and developing our frontiers. All in all, refreshing news to me. Hopefully, the retaking and transformation of holdings and staff goes smooth and quickly for all involved, so that we will soon see first results of the undertaking.
Sincerely,
