I missed 2 mass tests recently: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=457530 and https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=458479 I am really frustrated, that I lost 4M skillpoints, because forgot or could not react in time for this mass tests.
If I were subscribed to in-game mailing list I could check may mail via EVE Gate, EVEMon, ingame or any other way and did the right steps to get on Sisi in time. So I ask developers for making this in-game mail list, because Calendar did not help at all. |

There is already an existing Mailing List on Tranquility. It's called "Mass Testing Info".

An in-game way to advertise, view and search for available mailing lists and chat channels. At the moment the only way to find these items is word of mouth. As you can see by iwannadig's post, this does not work to well.

Yes, there should be some 'system' mail lists or so. |

Jaantrag wrote:"lost" .. last time i checked not attending didint substract any sp from you .. You should probably check again. Your bonus pool (reset every mirror) absolutely does decrease, else nobody would have incentive to do more than 5 tests in their character's life. My understanding is it's a rolling 5 sequential tests. If the oldest test you attended was 5 before today, and you miss today, your pool loses 2M when reset.

When a new mirror is applied the skill-points of the last five mass tests (max. 10M SP) are reapplied (within 2 days after the mirror). Understandably when tests are happening twice in a week, that's an impact. Mirrors are announced with even less consistency than tests. I already made a feature request for the new launcher to indicate the last mirror date.
And I'm saying and thinking of all this as someone who barely makes meaningful use of Singularity at all. But at some point I plan to produce video content. |

Unsurprisingly, the mailing list name is already given on the wiki page (but not apparently in any forum sticky). https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing Also unsurprisingly, who here has read that whole page or remembers it? If someone searched a mailing list database for "singularity or SISI" it wouldn't come up, because mailing lists don't have metadata (yet). Searching "mass test", well, why would a normal person do that unless they lived in a wormhole? Searching "test", well, why would a normal person do that unless they were terrible. Searching "info", etc. etc.
And people are human so sometimes it gets forgotten anyway. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4621691#post4621691
So while that's a good idea, this is not a good example for a searchable use case. If there are more CCP managed mailing lists, I certainly support a curated list in-game. |
