So since I have the skills necessarys I tryed to do some exploration so I went to try find some data sites, after 1 hour of going to diferent sistems I finded only 1 data sector and a lot of wormholes, so I wanted to know what I am doing wrong, if I am doing something wrong our are they only hard to find? Also do you get better loot the lower the sec (still being in high sec. exemple: sec 0.6 have better loot than 0.8)? |

I'm not entirely sure regarding how better the reward is the lower you go in highsec (1.0 vs 0.5), but it definitely gets better once you move into low/null/wh space.
From my experience, high security space tends to have a lot of people running those sites, so they can be hard to come by. You can find them all over in empty pockets of null without much trouble. The sites are harder out there though, with the nodes utilizing different types of defenses. Not to mention the people wanting to kill you factor.
If you wish to still remain in high security space, try using the ingame map stats, or Dotlan to find systems that have low population and/or low jumps per hour. Typically they're further way from the trade hubs.

You aren't doing anything wrong, you'll be competing with others for data sites, especially in high sec. If you want to stay in high sec, consider venturing out to Solitude. It is a high sec, quiet island that is great for scanning/ exploration and you can explore the nearby low and null sec when you feel more comfortable.

The reward depends on the can/core type, greens (highsec, easy), yellows (lowsec, moderate), and reds have the best loot but are hard to hack and only found in nullsec and some types of wormholes.
BUT, under the current balancing conditions data sites are almost always inferior to relic sites (archaeology skill). The best loot can be found currently in relic sites located in space with Sansha rats, second comes Blood Raider space. Both spaces offer special quite profitable items in the cans not found elsewhere.

Jump into those wormholes you're finding.
If it's a class 1 -> 3 wormhole there's a good chance you'll find pirate relic/data sites in there.
To find out what class a wormhole is once you jump in you can use sites such as:
http://wh.pasta.gg http://evemaps.dotlan.net
If it's C1 > C3 then it will be worth you scanning down all the sigantures inside.
Train for a cloak and fit one. Never sit around uncloaked in a wormhole while you scan inside. Bookmark the hole you came in from the second you jump inside. You will die to other pilots occasionally, so try to offload the loot you get from sites regularly so as not to lose a whole night's work with your ship. Learn to use your Directional Scanner, it's your eyes and ears in a wormhole and it will often help you see any incoming threats.

A lot of pilots roam highsec and dive wormholes to run pirate data and relic sites and can make quite a lot of ISK from it.
Use a cheap frigate to begin, Magnate is good because you can fit a ridiculous amount of warp core stabs to it which is ******* annoying for someone trying to catch and kill you. Progress to covert ops frigates when you have the skills, knowledge and ISK.

There is almost no isk to be made doing exploration in high sec.
IMHO the only reason that you should be putting out probes in high sec is to find the wormhole that you are going to explore. Or a wormhole that leads deep into null. |
